I wanted to wait and comment until i finished mine. I made one under a month using all of my scrap yarns from 2023 and its beyond gorgeous!!🥰 (scrap sweater) Amazing tutorial thank you so much!!😇
Oki now i just finished the third sweater using this tutorial with two colors from the brand "I love this yarn" nevada dusk and sunset yarn because I'm OBSESSED!!!😍😂🧶
It took me 5 weeks but I finished my first sweater following your tutorial and I was so excited and nervous to try it on. It’s PERFECT and I even made mistakes 😅 thanks man
This is my first sweater ever. I have only made crochet hats so far but this design is super easy. However, the yarn by Caron Cakes is not available in Germany or extremely overpriced. Instead I'm using the yarn Schoeller & Stahl chic & warm with a 5mm hook. Works like a charm and has a similar colour line. Also, I started with 100 chains on my hook for my sleeves because I'm very tall (1,83m/6ft) and well familiar with the problem of too short sleeves :) Thank you so much for the tutorial!
This sweater is incredibly beautiful!! I have already done enough sweaters for myself to stock up for winter but I just might give in and try this one out. Your voice is so calming and you explain everything in so much detail it really makes up for a great video . Thank you so much for sharing ☺️☺️
Thank you so much for this tutorial, you explain it well and so I made my first-ever sweater!! It took me 1 week and 2 days to make, I worked on it during my study breaks while watching youtube videos or listening to music. I made mine with 4 different colours (actually 5 bc I ran out of yarn for the last few rows of one sleeve). Each sleeve is a different colour (pastel green and dark green/turquoise) and the front and back panels are half a light shade of pink and the other half a darker shade of pink. I have made your bucket hat in the past and even my mom and sister wear it once in a while. :)
hey i wanna make my front and back panel half red and half turquoise and have both sleeves either color. Idk how to split the 23 rows of the neck so its exactly half/half. Can you help me maybe? I dont know if im gonna notice if one has 1 more row than the other or is it not that noticable? Thanks!!🙏🏻
@@multicolori7722 hii, that sounds like a nice combination! So i made my neck too small but I also had uneven rows:15 rows. If I remember it correctly I continued until the 14th row and switched to the other colour for the other half. For me it isn't noticeable that one has 1 more row. I am also just a beginner but I hope this helps.
Just saw u on Instagram found this tutorial and now I just subscribed because you explain crochet so clearly for each step. I made few crochet things but I still a beginner
This tutorial is incredible! So clear. I’ve been crocheting for the past year but I’m really excited to graduate to practical wearables. This sweater is perfect, just my style, and after watching your video through, I really think I can accomplish this. Thank you so much 🤗
You are incredible. This is a fantastic tutorial and beautifully illustrated. Crocheting the ribbings at the same time is amazing. So much easier. Thank you
I have two caron big cakes at 300 grams each that I thrifted... woo it'll be close but I feel kind of lucky, this is the first sweater pattern I feel confident I have enough yarn for!
I’m working on a sweater that’s pretty much just a bunch of single crochets because it’s my second project ever. I’m excited to come back and make this because those Caron Cakes have been calling my name!
Thank you so much for this video, alot of other videos were really confusing, but this one is really detailed, thank you so much. And I just started crocheting my sweater, I hope I finish mine soon!
ahhhh I am a long time crocheter but have just started learning to knit because I’m not the biggest fan of crochet garments and want to make knit sweaters…but I’ve never thought of making a ribbed look like this - looks SOOO good and gets rid of the holes often present in crochet!! genius. and such a great tutorial!!
That's really a great work .I finished 2 ribbed beanie that look so good .I request you to upload a pattern for vest please 😊 . The reason why I follow your pattern is you give very clever steps by step video and not skipping the important parts and some tips too ❤
Hello! Brilliantly done. It’s adorable! I found your short on Pinterest and looked you up on RUclips. So glad I did. I am thinking long and hard about how to make mine a crew neck. Usually I crochet with thrifted yarn but I like this pattern so much I am going to purchase yarn retail to make this sweater. Thank you for making this available for free. Very generous of you. - Thanks again!
day 2 of making 1 sleeve, im pretty slow at crocheting, but i am enjoying it. Hopefully I'll be back here once im finished :) 3 seconds later and i'm back, i realized i made the sleeves waaaay to long now that i've been looking on how it fits on you. I made my sleeve from wrist to shoulder, this most probably will ruin the design but I'm too stubborn to take it apart 😭 update: omg it has been 2 months since i have been here last and all i need to do is stitch all the parts together! Update: okay i finished it, i made the front and back panels waaaaay too big, i failed LMAO
I am experiencing the same problem. I think it is because I am using a thicker yarn and I don't crochet as tightly as she does. I'm an XL and thought that I would have to add more stitches and more rows but following her pattern exactly got me a sweater that is going to be a little big on me.
Sorry for bothering you but if you could tell me how long you crochet in day i would like to try to crochet but I'm starting med school so i won't have that much time but i still want to try
@ShemsaSalkoska HI! So the front and back panels took me about 10 hours and the sleeves took me 10 hours as well. I would say you could complete this project within a week if you focused a good chunk of your energy on this. Mind you, I'm sort of slow at crotcheting compared to this girl.
It was so easy to follow. I would like to try it but in the form of a cardigan if possible. I would love to have this in a hooded cardigan style, it will look so cute.
I started crocheting recently and this was very helpful! I ran out of brown yarn on my first sleeve 😂 I'll either use some other yarn or try and find it somewhere else. I've been doing squares tried mini hats and I had so much trouble with the ends but this was very clear on how to do the ends properly!
Very thanks for this lovely and simple pattern! I'm not a crocheting beginner, but it's restfull to not make a big project. Hello from France! And I'm becoming later to say how he fit on me :) Bisous.
Hi Viv! I've just restarted my crocheting journey (after putting it down for years), and I absolutely love your channel and tutorials! Your instructions are so easy to follow :) I managed to make a beanie in one evening, and I get so many compliments on it! I had a question about this particular tutorial (or, maybe a crocheting question in general I can't seem to find an answer for online): If I wanted to taper this sweater out from my waist, how would I go about doing that? As in, how do I add an additional stitch each round, and drop one? I'll try my best to explain what I want to achieve: I'm basically aiming to have it straight where the sleeve attaches (obviously), but then gradually add length each round to the bottom side of it until I get to the "hem". Then make it straight, until I come to the other side, where I will drop a stitch each round until I reach where the sleeve will attach. Sort of making the jersey \_/ instead of |_|, if that makes sense. The major reason is that jerseys that go straight up-and-down tend to look horribly boxy on me. Is this just called an increase / decrease? Or an additional foundation stitch? I actually don't know what to look for! Thank you so much for your hard work - I'm excited to pick up basically all of your tutorials as projects! ❤
Hi, thank you! This sweater isn’t a great pattern for what you’re trying to achieve because it’s worked sideways instead of up or down. You might want to try the two-tone raglan sweater tutorial I did. That one, you just need to do decreases on either side when you work the body to get that taper. Or, if you’re working from the bottom-up, you’ll do increases
thank you for the tutorial! i really want to try this design. does anyone know how could i go about doing this if i want a different color yarn for the sleeve cuffs/neckline/bottom ribbing?
You would do a color change in between the sleeve and the cuff and leave the yarn there (don’t carry it over). Then, when you get back to the ribbing, it’s there for you to pick up! I have a couple of color changing videos, but the one most relevant to this way is my catghan video if you’re interested in how I do it!
I am a beginner. This is amazing video.I tried my best but it doesn't look like yours lol....mine was too big!!!....I want to mk sweater for my 10 yr old daughter....Thank you.....plz mk more sweater tutorials with other simple designs plz....🤗💜👍🤩
People, don’t forget to measure it to your body!! You may not have the same size or height as the lady in the video. I had already started the panels when I realized it was too big for me.
Love this look! Going to try this for my second crochet garment - made a hexagon cardigan that I loved see coming together. My question for this one is how easy is it to change the neckline on this one to have it lower at the front? Thanks!
I have tried making this pattern but at the end of making one sleeve i found that i am missing stitches at the end of each row but i have done 4 or 5 sweaters and cardigans before but this never happens with the other ones, also when i make the slip stitches it makes the sleeve super small and the body of the sleeve super big so it doesn’t seem to work so is there any way of fixing this issue? I am going to try to make it with single crotchet instead for 10 slip stitches and hopefully that will make it looser and wont be so tight.
Im trying to make this sweater butchave a couple ?s, firstly when making the length when you say chain 70 is that long enough for you to join to the sweater for a size large? I have made several carnigans and sweaters before, for a size large i find that chaining 103 for the body works nicley but how many chains for the sleeve length still 70? I did 90 chains but dont know if that will be too long. Next ? Is about the slip stitches and then double crotchet, the double crotchet are fine i can do them but everytime i do 10 slip stitches and do the next row i go back to doing to the slip stitch part of it and find it super difficult to make slip stitches on top of the slip stitches from the first row that is already done. Ive tried upsizing my hook size but that didnt seem to help at all 😪😢😔
I followed 34 rows on the sleeves but the cuffs are a bit too tight, but if I add more rows it's going to be too puffy on the sleeve. Did I tight too much while doing the sl?
8:55 after the 10 single crochet, how much do we chain and after these chains do we enter the the first stitch right away or do we leave one (like the beginning)? Please answer
You chain and turn at the beginning of every row: 1 chain if you’re doing single crochets and 2 chains if you’re doing double crochets. And you should work into the first stitch
Hi! I loved this and am going to start making it! I do have one question, how did you do the different colours? How do I switch between colours seamlessly? And how did you decide when you wanted to start a new colour? Thank you!!
Hi, I used striped yarn that had multiple colors in it so I didn’t have to do any color changes or decide when to change colors! I don’t show how to change colors, but in my vintage catghan video, I show it. Basically, once you complete the last stitch of the row, you want to loop the new yarn onto your hook and pull it through the loop of the previous color. Hope this helps!
@@VivCrochets thank you! Would you recommend also doing a neckline on the back panel too or keeping the top of that straight? I appreciate you getting back to me and so quickly, this is the first wearable I’m ever making.
