As with everyone else here, we're 'Watching 'cos we love it' !!!!! Always enjoy watching these, so good and what a stunning place Anglesey is. I've never been, even on, dare I say it.....land (!!!!) but it's a properly beautiful place. I'm sure I've read somewhere, a long time ago so I might be wrong, that if you can sail around Anglesey (without an engine) you can sail anywhere in the world. You'll encounter pretty much everything in the way of tides, winds, big rocks, small rocks....the lot. Stunning but deadly. As ever, keep it Mike and Bon Voyage.
I remember reading that as well. It probably is a very fair training ground. I think I probably have sailed around without the motor all be it not at the same time as I like stops. You should put it on your bucket list by land or sea. The Straits are stunning 🤩 to say the least and the rest has such characteristics you’ll never forget. All the best mike
Another great vid. Thanks. I was the boat following you all day. Followed you and your brother all the way from Caenarfon to Deganwy and across the sands. Your videos and others were one of the reasons I finally bit the bullet and bought my own boat. This was the first time we sailed it. See you out there. Mark "Steal Away"
Fantastic, I love the fact that I was an influence to you. I did see you all the time wondering if you were going to catch us up. I’ll watch out for you mike 😁
Couldn't catch you. You had half an hours worth of tide on me. You cut the corner on the swatch. You turned way before the B6 buoy aswell. That was interesting to see how early you turned.
You can turn as early as you want on a rising tide. Keep an eye on the sounder and you can always fall off to port if you get close to touching. I’ve bumped over that bank many a time on a rising tide. I’m sure you’ll catch me next time mike
remember last year you come across from Ireland st georges channel one of your best sailing adventures ever , imagine how the boat would preform now in those same conditions , it be icing on the cake if you can get any better than that
You’re absolutely right, even Lisa said she just feels so slippery and that’s a major comment from her. Wish my log would work for just one season. I’m logging enough proof to her changed ways. I know she will never be no racing boat but at least now you can get a proper buzz!🐝
14:00 hrs Friday - there's quite a breeze travelling South up the river with the tide this afternoon and your 'Gull Off' CDs are 'twinkling' brightly in the sunshine. I hope that the wind drops by the time that the tide goes out again this evening, when you leave on your GREAT adventure. I hope you have a wonderful time - I'm looking forward to your videos recanting your experiences. 🐳🐬🐟😄
Cheers Besy mate, I’m sure I’ll give you something to watch. Hope you both have a great time and we can tell each other all the other bits over a coffee in July 😉
Gorgeous photos taken of the brickworks and your beautiful vessel of adventure. Caernarfon bar was a millpond by comparison to our 1st time over it last July
"but certainly giving them a good wack in the head when they are not looking" ROFL ROFL ROFL! ! ! Too funny. My favorite Scottish accent channel on YT!
Good to see you back on the water Mike, I've now moved my boat round from Essex to her new berth in Chichester Harbour. We motored the entire way as there was just no wind to speak of and we didn't want to spend too long completing the trip. Since then I've been trying to polish my sailing in readiness for a long summer trip down the South Coast and round into the Bristol channel. I notice your jib sheets are outside you shrouds, I think that will need to be the way to go as so far in my 'teach yourself how to sail guidebook", i've struggled to get above 3.5 knots and clearly Im not trimming the sails well enough especially in lighter airs.
As a rule of thumb, genoas outside jibs inside. There’s always an exception to the rule though. Just make your sails smooth, no wrinkles STOP pulling on sheets and halyards as soon as the wrinkles have gone.
No only has swallow tara111 and foxglove slipped into the new season sailing well so have your this years vids already - lovely little trip thank you Malc uk 🇬🇧
@@sailingcosiloveit never mind...going to be great....bottle going on the bow....lol enjoy cardigan bay...aberdovey is a really nice place to pull into...three great pubs...👍👍🍺🍺🍺
We have a boat in Langkawi & birds & bats are a constant problem. The one thing that seems to deter them is to place a few rubber snakes around the deck & rigging. We don't need to make the boat "bird proof", just less attractive than the boat next door!.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Best sailing channel on ytube, 100%.
So cozy and light hearted. 😊
Sometimes I even learn something 😮
If a day ever goes by without learning then that would be a wasted day for sure. Great having your support mike

Would an old large weave fishing net strung over the boom work ?
could be cut to tail over fore n aft.
That sounds perfect Brian, you got one for me? 😁
@@sailingcosiloveit Sorry no but just throwing out an idea for you.
Ye top idea, I’ll be in the lookout 👀 for one 👍
