Interesting video Mike, when you commented on Sea Hustler not being a racing boat, I see what you mean. My keels could only be described as 'fat and stumpy' not much tapering anywhere below my waterline LOL.
Another great video Mike. Lots of keels and lots of options. Your analysis of keel sections seems sound to me, given that aircraft and flying are another passion of mine. btw I know the boatyard very well. Blue skies 2024!
Super video Mike. Very informative. The geometry under the hummingbird and the endurance are almost identical in the front the long fin and rudder compared with the full keel. Kindest regards and best wishes for new year . All the best from Cork. to yourself and Lisa.
Marvelous, thanks for making this. You should do more teaching videos. I can walk around a boatyard all day too, I imagine a lot of your viewers can. Seems like drying out is very popular over there, not sure why it’s not over here in the puget sound.
Hi Fernando, a lot of companies won’t insure your boat through the winter months in certain anchorages or moorings. Plus the need to clean the bottom and temperatures getting too cold to sail. Becomes easier just to take it out. Marinas keep most of their boats in and so do some protected rivers. You get excited when it’s time to go back in 🤪
Informative as ever, happy New year & safe sailing in 2024. Hopefully you enjoyed your celebrations with loved ones over the Christmas season. Best wishes from the crew of Wavedancer westerly fulmar AKA John and Yvonne O'Sullivan here in Ireland
Hi John/Yvonne, yes had a great family Christmas and really looking forward to the 24 sailing season. Hope it turns out to be a good one for you guys. All the best mike
Thanks for the walk and talk Mike, great video and full of information as usual. As always looking forward to the next one have a great festive season and hope we cross paths this coming season. All the best Roy
Yeah I agree, walking through boat yards is something I can spend hours doing. Especially the older one's that have been there for over a century +. That view from the window at the end of the clip is lovely, now there's a top spot to sit and contemplate the infinite
Thank you, that was fun. My Centaur 26 could keep up with 33' fin keelers. I would sail out of Ft Lauderdale Florida into small craft warnings every chance i got. Out into the Gulfstream with 16' waves and loving it. I went single as not to scare guests. That was 40 years ago. Today my Moody 346 " Nice Pair" is my new girl and we are very happy together. Happy New Year everyone?
Think we’ve all had a Centaur, brilliant boats for sure. Love the walkthrough to the aft quarters on your moody think it makes a great getaway within the boat, especially if you have noisy kids in the forepeak. Central cockpit keeps you away from the weather as well. Great choice of boat. All the best mike
Hi Kevin, Fishers are like life, they are about the journey. Bit like Swallow, your forced to enjoy the sail as it’s not going to be over too quickly 😁 Regards mike
Excellent. But that is what I expected from this site. I have missed so many postings I am thinking of buying a bigger kettle so I don't run out of tea while at the computer trying to catch up. Thank you for these informative videos amigo marinheiro.
Morning Rachel, I did notice the fisher. I’m even a big fisher fan but my footage was poor due to the sun on my lens. Please forgive me for not pointing out it was the best of the lot but I think everyone knows that without me needing to point it out. All the best mike
Hi Mike, hope you are well. Before I schmooze you with how we love your channel, can you you help? When you went to Ireland what papers were you asked for ? We only went to Dun Laoghaire and no one was interested in anything. Lovely Marina. This year we’re off to Dun Laoghaire then down to Wicklow and was wondering if you had any requests for paperwork? Thanks. Looking forward to your next video and sailing adventures for this year. Hopefully these wind will subside and we can all enjoy a good sailing season. Thanks Roy
Hi Roy we have a common agreement with Ireland. All you require to have with you is a form of picture ID this can be your driving license or pass port though you only need to show if asked. You don’t need to use a Q flag but as standard you must have your insurance with you for some marinas. Hope to see you on the high seas at some point 👍
Happy new year to you both and let us all join in wishing a happy new year to the Boys and Girls around the UK in the Coastguard and RNLI and private water safety crews who keep an eye on us and help to keep us safe on the water so Bon anniversare to you ALL for 2024 Chrs Malc uk 🇬🇧 🎉
Great vid that....love walking round that boatyard myself....find it fascinating...
Like a sweet shop to a kid 😁

Happy to see Vagrant, my recently sold Albin Vega at 7’50” in!
Hi John, what did you replace such a nice hull with?
@@sailingcosiloveit Nothing yet, just looking... I'm interested in finding a small junk-rigged cruiser. Let me know if you see one!😉
👍
Thanks Mike. Really interesting talk. Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to you and your family.
Back at ye 🥂

Contemplation is my day but Lisa says it day dreaming 😴

OMG Mutley me too. All the best mike
I agree with Rachel, everyone at ABC always points out that the Fisher hull is a great design to stop the boat going too fast.

Your very welcome my dear friend!
I can't believe you walked right past that fabulous green Fisher Freeward 25 next to Shaun's van and failed to point out it was the best of the lot.

Wicked! Your accent makes me believe that there will come a time you dedicate a video to Haggis.
😂
Watching cos I love it
Production cos I love you watching 😁
