    I'm a personal trainer and have coached multiple postpartum women, helped my wife through now 3 pregnancies, and currently am working with 2 pregnant clients - each in their second trimester. This is an INCREDIBLE resource you've developed and I've shared it with each of them. The GGS Pre-and-Post Natal Certification textbook is also sitting at my desk, and I've been a fan of GGS for a very long time. Thankful to hear it's what you chose. That must mean it's fantastic. Thank you thank you thank you!

    I’m 19+2 and absolutely loving plus+1! It’s so nice to have a guideline of how to stay strong. My pelvic floor physical therapist knows about your program and gives it two thumbs up. I look forward to diving into the postpartum programming this fall/winter after baby arrives.

    Sooo happy I revisited your videos. I watched you my last pregnancy and now I'm pregnant with number 2. Have been lifting and have been trying some programs but I keep going back to my regular lifting routine because they are all not too focused on gym workouts and are very repetitive. I am about to check out the app right now. I am 24 weeks and I really enjoyed watching how you trained last pregnancy. Most of all you're the only person I can watch because you explain everything so beautifully.

    Thanks for making this video, I've really admired a woman in my group strength classes who was lifting way heavier than me and every other non-pregnant woman there weeks before giving birth (and then soon after birth as well!), and I've always wanted to emulate her.

I definitely plan on doing the +1 program. I am hoping that this last pregnancy will be better than the other two since I’ve been exercising religiously for a while now 😬🤞🏼

    This was super informative! Not pregnant but made me think a lot about the future. Could you make a video addressing weakened core from abdominal surgery?? (if you have any knowledge about it) - I had a laparoscopic surgery done for my endometriosis over two years ago but still feel like my core is just more relaxed which gives me more of a belly.

    Hello from Italy. Love your video and the way you clearly explain. I am pregnant of my 2nd baby, and I did crossfit and swimming. Now at 3 months the doctor said I have a uterine prolapse and applied a pessarium. I am not the same person ever. I can't do anything except slow swimming. The gynecologist told me that if I lift weights or make crossfit style exercise I will worse the prolapse and the post partum pain because in his opinion it can be I have to operate. What can I do? I suppose it's not my light weight lifting that has caused prolapse but I feel alone and sad with those thoughts without training.. I am becoming fat and sad.. It is safe to do some exercises with prolapse, and which ones? Consider that in Italy if you ask to doctors may I do lifting while pregnant, they get their eyes off the face and say why??? Why you need do weights? 😮😮😮😢😢😢😢😢 Please help

    Any advice with knee pain? I'm 24 weeks and lifting the same as prior to pregnancy, 8 to 12 rep range. Last week my knees started to pop alot while doing squats and lunges and this week I think they might be injured.
    I think it might be relaxin? I already saw a pelvic floor therapist because I had a bad pinched nerve in my lower left back and she said losening of the SI joint caused by relaxin. Maybe the same with the knees?
    I hurt my right knee 2 years ago and I still have to use KT tape or it acts up again. Now its both knees. So bummed I have to sit out the rest of the week 😢. I am worried it will get worse and I'm not even in the 3rd trimester yet.

    I have a 6 week old. With my first pregnancy I didn't know much about how to exercise. For to week 8 and stopped exercising as I felt I was doing something wrong. Was tired, gained a bunch of weight, and my stomach was a mess after: same weight, but 5 additional inches around my waist 🥺 The weight didn't want to come off, even while breastfeeding, the stomach looked like I was 6 months pregnant for 1.5 year, and then reduced to about 5 months pregnant by year 2. Prior to getting pregnant i had been exercising for about 7 years, consistently.
    In the meantime, I figured out how to exercise during pregnancy and then got pregnant. Trained 3 times throughout my pregnancy - last time was the day before I gave birth. Stomach was almost completely flat after 1 week, and my small diastasis had closed completely 😊 Waist was smaller than before pregnancy, my core felt good after 3 days (I felt like everything was about to fall out for the first MONTH with my first one) and I started training again after 2 weeks.
    My prioritization was:
    1) engage core correctly
    2) do NOT make pelvic girdle pain worse (I had some issues during my first pregnancy, major issues with my second, but made basically everything disappear by training correctly)
    3) do not cause issue swith the pelvic floor - manage pressure, which involves lowering intenaity quite a bit
    4) manage intensity
    5) stay consistent
    BTW: you CAN do unilateral leg training with pelvic girdle pain and similar ossues, but you have to adjust the TILT of your body. Instead of having the trunk parallell to the floor, tilt it away from the leg you're training ;)

    Hey Meg! Thanks so much for the helpful video. Would your app be not recommended to start midway through pregnancy? I’ve lifted in the past, but have not had a routine immediately prior to this pregnancy. Not looking for medical advice, just your opinion on whether you could ease in to this program during pregnancy. Thanks!

    What is your take on pre workout powders during pregnancy. I heard of some pregnancy safe ones. I'm battling low energy. I'm only 11 weeks now. But I workout 5-6 times a week.

    • @Megsquats
      @Megsquats  Год назад +1

      With any supplementation I always recommend asking your doctor. I didn't take any pre workouts during my pregnancy. The energy struggle is real but remember to take it easy during the low energy phases of pregnancy. Hopefully your energy will pick up in the second trimester! 🤞🏻

    First time being pregnant and went to my first Drs visit las week. I have been lifting for over 8 years. She said no woman that is pregnant should lift over 25lbs… wtf? :( I feel so scared and discouraged. She also said “it’s not about you anymore” and that made me feel like shit… she also said that I could potentially cause a miscarriage if I continued to workout…. I feel so discouraged and sad, lifting has been a part of me and I’d hate giving it up…

      I would not recommend smith machine squats, the diagonal fall of the bar does not allow for the best form. I would stick to barbell squats and dumbbell/barbell accessories (meaning squat variations or other leg workouts.)

    • @thislittlepiggy-bedtime-videos
      @thislittlepiggy-bedtime-videos Год назад +1

      Smith machine is not to be done with the heaviest weight. Just have a good pump and go for hypertrophy with many reps. Not everyone can do smith machine tho.. it might bother the back. Free squats on the other side, is a proper strength move. You can do low rep, even train for one rep max. And of course, can do all the high reps stuff too. Free squats work overall strength and more muscles than just legs. Smith machine is leg only ..
