Now that I think about it, Aokiji didn’t call his attack “Death Freeze” or anything, but “Ice Time Capsule”, which implies preserving something for the future; a rather fitting name.
And it was so satisfying to see that the sacrifice of the scholars was not in vain and they managed to safe a big part of the history they helped to reconstruct. Nico Olvia staying behind is still one of the most emotional scenes in the series and I’m looking forward to a happy and tearful reunion of Robin and Saul.
It's honestly amazing that even aokiji himself have this wonderful character development as we progress on knowing other characters' backstory. He's suddenly becoming a big part of the story of OP which I never even consider till now

I think Oda officially stated that Robins father was an archaeologist from O’Hara like her mother, who went out to find more Ponegliffs and was killed by the marines, hence the line when Olvia is leaving about her husbands research being in vain or something. So maybe Dragon wasn’t Robins farher, but it would not surprise me if he did KNOW who her father was. Like maybe he is the reason Dragon learned about the Void Century in the first place.

I LOVE the idea that Robin and Luffy are siblings. That would make even more sense considering Robin always knows just how to speak to Luffy and understands his thought processes well.

And then in more recent chapters where Robin understands so clearly how much Luffy can process at one time and withholds information so Luffy doesn't get overwhelmed. Very much so older sister vibes.

Vegapunk's design is so Peak. I absolutely love it. The flashback version was just crazy, but current Vp is perfect. Oda introducing 6 cool designs already told me the original was going to be wild. Just his art style at its finest. Elbaf is looking stacked

I don't know about Dragon being Robins father because in chapter 393, before Nico Olivia (Robins mother) set out to search for the poneglyphs, she was speaking to robin as a child. While they were speaking, one of the crewmates yelled out "We'll take care of your husband UNFULFILLED WISH" encouraging her to stay with Robin. She denied and got ambushed in the search, and cuz of her CP-agency went after Ohara.
I interpret "We'll take care of your husband UNFULFILLED WISH" as in the husband i.e. Robins father died. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Still it could also mean that Olivia told everyone that her husband was dead when in reality he just needed cloth to go and unveil what the world government held as their upmost important secret, that the world throne was not empty but someone has been sitting on it the entire time. Or he didn't cover Dragon at all but Dragon actually faked his death.
Did not think Robin's backstory could get even better. Seeing her cry tears of joy was tear jerking. Can't wait for her reunion with Saul, when he sees the friends she's made. Oda is amazing 🔥

Saul being alive made Robin’s backstory better for me. It gave her hope again. The way Oda drew her eyes as she began to cry was so touching. The way he drew Robin’s crying eyes as a child were so innocent. This chapter was an absolute masterpiece

The apple is a biblical symbol of forbidden knowledge so maybe him removing his brain from his main body to split it up into 6 aspects of himself was a way for himself to remove the burden of knowledge he had acquired as his old self seems goofy and free unlike the more serious character we are faced with in the flashback. This makes more sense following shaka pointing at his head when talking about the @Ohara knowledge that he gathered from the books in Elbaf.

Okay what if…
1. With Imu potentially being of the same race what if in another similarity Vegapunk got his idea of separate selves from Imu who could’ve done the same thing with the 5 elders but his version being more successful.
2. What if Dragon saving luffy wasn’t because of a weather based devil fruit BUT an attack on the podium with conquers lightening the same way Shanks did with GreenBull

I have fallen in love with the idea that Robin and Luffy could be siblings.
Dragon leaving Flowers at Ohara, and Robin having the Flower Fruit.
The king of their respective faction leaving the mother of their child with their white-haired partner, who dies and that child becomes hunted by the government sounds like a really familar idea, too.
It also adds gravity to where Robin went during the Timeskip.
Bro it makes so much sense as to why the RA wanted Robin in their base, Dragon wanted to see the will of Ohara for himself and what kind of a person Robin was, and I'm left wondering as to why I didn't make this connection earlier.

After reading that chapter, I’m pretty sure Vegapunk and Dragon knew each other for long time.
In Franky’s venture to Vegapunk’s lab before, seems that the genius started to work for the government at very young age. But when D and V met at Ohara they are in 30s and 40s, that mean they’ve known each other for long time, and since V was already in WG for long, possible that D was also working in WG before. I bet he was in CP before. Coz if he was in Navy, I’m pretty sure some VA already known him. But seems they are oblivious of his existence and goal.
I also like the idea that Robin could be his daughter. And I wonder how he got stumbled and made Luffy? He seems so focused and serious guy after the Ohara incident. Different from Roger but they both got the same idea that their sons will find the One Piece and complete the will of Joyboy!

So an interesting thought on the whole Dragon's relation to Ohara idea. Both him and Vegapunk leave bouquets, the bouquet Vegapunk leaves contains basic spring and summer flowers, roses, carnations and daisies. But Dragon's bouquet contains white lilies, which are a flower used for mourning, especially someone you love like a family member or spouse. It could be nothing, but knowing that oda has the knowledge of the language of flowers it should be taken with more than a grain of salt.

Another element of the puzzle has been discovered and we can rather already expect that the next island will be Elbaf. Robin's reaction to the news of Saul was wonderful. Now the question is whether the real Vegapunk, which by the way resembles Einstain, will reveal to Luffy the secrets of his fruit, or will he extract any info from Ohara's knowledge who was Sun God Nika. By the way, Jinbe is in the Luffy's group and he knows from Who's Who that Shanks stole the Gomu Gomu fruit.
In addition, Vegapunk can be both Einstein in appearance, but also Newton, who "discovered" the law of gravity when an apple fell on his head. In the picture we have half an apple and Vegapunk is wearing shoes that directly oppose the force of gravity XD

Looking at the three giants fishing the books out of the lake, they seem to be Hajrudin and two members of his crew (one being the girl that was childhood acquaintances with Big Mom).
That would therefore not only bind him into the coming Elbaf Arc due to being giant, but because he was also directly involved in the aftermath of Ohara.
Great video! My thoughts & opinions of the chapter:
1. When learning that the Ohara incident was at least one part of the main reasons why Dragon forged the Revolutionary Army, I now want to know if the next chapter(s) will be where we learn the full origin story of Luffy's father?!
2. If Luffy's group do learn about the origin story of the Revolutionary Army, will Bonney fully understand why Vegapunk did what he did to her father, even though I am not sure it will be enough for Bonney to pardon the scientist?!
3. Assuming we do get Dragon's backstory, does this mean we'll finally learn who Luffy's Mom is?! If so, who do think she will truly be or what she may look like?! Personally, I am still holding on to the idea of her being the former ruler of Amazon Lily (between Shakky & Hancock's respective reign)!

to me, it might be feasible that luffy and robin might be siblings. they think very alike and yet contrary. robin often describes things with dark metaphors while luffy is the bright cheery guy. robin often knows exactly how to explain things to luffy and has this older-sister vibe going on. (pineapple-guy = marco e.g.)

This chapter made me question a lot of things. I even made me remember things that don't made sense for me yet:
Why the D "clan" is on the side of the government although not agreeing with all they do. Why does the government allow the D "clan" to be among their ranks considering the government wants to erase part of history. Speaking of which why did the marines arrest Clover 10 times without not making him disappear. Considering he's interested in the very thing they want to erase ? Also what a sloppy job on erasing things in Ohara...

Aokiji used "Ice Time Capsule" for a reason
If Shanks is protecting the last poneglyph, he will fight Luffy just to make sure Luffy is able to protect the knowledge of last poneglyph from Blackbeard.
As we saw, Blackbeard is going to collect poneglyph knowledge from other pirates which is the easy way. So, letting other pirates take the information of last poneglyph is also a danger for Shanks.
didnt shanks say tho, that they're going after the one piece now? maybe he realized what BB is doing and came to the conclusion that the poneglyphs arent a safegate anymore, so he protects the one piece itself to make sure, only the right person gets it.

I think the way Robun started acting towards Luffy after returning to the crew was pretty Self Aware of that fact she's Luffys eldest Half Sister. So she kind of came back giving off this protective Sibling Vibe and also I don't think she would directly tell Luffy until the Journey is finished. Just because she is probably abit worried if that Luffy finds out it might affect the way he Treats and interacts with Robin. The one part that Bugs me, knowing that Saul survived shows there is a chance others could of as well. I think Either Robin's Mom or Clover Survived but like Really Injured too the point were they're on Deaths door 24/7 and need medical watch. It would make sense to me that if Saul survived he's not just hiding for himself but hiding to protect another survivor that's with him and is also injured to the point they can't protect themselves.

We have seen Luffy doing like so after Marineford battle when he paid homage to Ace and Whitebeard.
I love the fact that you can see Luffy in Dragon when he was young, angry, and really fired up.
But it makes you wonder more about what kind of a person Luffy's mother is/was.
I think Dragon is more like an adventurer and get to know clover when he went to travel around the world. Also, he looks like the type of a rebellious kid that didn't want to become marine, just as Luffy
It’s interesting, that Oda happen to put Dragon to have a decent amount KNOWLEDGE about the *past* (void centuries and everything else) and Luffy to have a decent amount of POWER to make things better for the *future* and that also makes Garp to have a decent amount of JUSTICE for the *present*

Peak fucking fiction, bruvs. I was gonna make a joke about Vegapunk being Punpun but my mans really came out looking like Einstein. Also, Dragon is over 50 years old?! Damn! Amazing how GOda fit so much into this one chapter. To the other OGs out there, it's pretty emotional seeing all of these plot points coming together like this. I found it curious how many kings of these 20 kingdoms so far all look VERY similar... Tanned dude with long, wavy hair.
nice, I had the exact same theory of the half sibling thing after this chapter. Though a big sticking point against it is I don't know why Dragon would bring up Clover in front of Vegapunk instead of Olvia. But then again, Oda might be saving that reveal for when Luffy and Robin are in the same place to react to it. I think it would be a pretty neat development if it turns out that way but regardless more Robin story is always welcome no matter where it goes from here :)

Man, the theory about Imu being the mother of Luffy OR rather her grandmother is increasing for she was the who was responsible for the destruction of Ohara and Dragon visiting the island after that.
This makes sense. The World government became more strict about the Void Century AFTER Roger found the One Piece. They became scared as before they had become overconfident after no one finding it for 800 years. That explains why Clover only got arrested ten times instead of being killed.

There is no way Dragon is Robin's Father. That Robin survived Ohara was known around the world and certainly Dragon would know about it. The way Dr. Vegapunk's head was in the flashback and the way it is now makes me think of Dr. Finkelstein from the Nightmare before Christmas, how he put a part of his brain into a different body. I think VegaPunk put sections of his massive brain into the different Vegapunks we've met thus far.

Robin being related to Luffy has been a theory for a while. I find this theory especially interesting after having played One Piece World Seeker. I know the story of the game isn’t cannon but the fact that Jeanne (the main ally of the game) says on two occasions that Robin and Luffy seem similar, really has me thinking how they could be related. I wonder if it's through the Monkey side of the family or Luffy's mother side.
On the other hand Oda can always surprise us, who knows maybe Robin had Luffy's kid during the timeskip. Garp was a wild child, so maybe the Monkey D men are lousy fathers but loving grandfathers.

Where in the chapter does it say Dragon was a marine? It clearly states that he was a freedom fighter before forming the revolutionary army with Ivan and Kuma.
Im doing a rewatch currently where I'm searching for connections and foreshadowing. I am a firm believer that the filler, arcs, and movies in part foreshadow the future of the story with clues and parallels (inversions).
The Rainbow Mist filler has Henzo a part of the Pumpkin Pirates with their leader Rapa Nui.
Henzo gets left out of the Rainbow Mist when Wetton attacks and the Pumpkin Pirates enter Apes Concert.
Rapa Nui is later upset that Henzo joined Wetton (who destroyed their town).
Henzo says he only did it to fund his research (as he was a scientist/inventor).
Once of the Mist you come to find that Rapa Nui and gang became Marines.
Rapa Nui's father was also a Marine.
This I think may be a strong parallel/inversion to foreshadow this current relationship and supports the Dragon was a marine (admiral) theory.
Dragon a former marine (Rapa Nui former pirate) becomes a Pirate/Revolutionary (Rapa Nui becomes Marine to revolutionize it)
Dragons friend/acquaintance Vegapunk (Henzo) joins the people he knows is bad (Marines/Wetton) in order to fund their research.
Some stretches that are interesting:
Rapa Nui means Easter Island. Easter Island has quite a bit of connections to the story of One Piece but the three I want to highlight are:
1- The civilization was wiped out
2- They did heavy deforestation and its said there are no trees on the island (as Ohara has none now)
3- There was a medicine there that was said to prolong ones life substantially called Rapamycin (People speculated fountain of youth and the concept of Immortality is a constant in OP)
One thing I stumbled upon in this research of the Filler led me to something crazy that I dont even understand so I'll need to take more time with it. However, I do want to stop here and say that alot of connections that spawn from One Piece are Oda's genius and others are mere coincidence because the things Oda uses for inspiration were inspired from other things aswell and its like a huge game of telephone. If you look at the old civilizations alot of them share common themes. Such things are Dragons being the origin beast for nearly every other large mythical animal, Worship of the Sun, Stars, and Moon; and an ancient Giant race that plundered civilizations by sea. So, some things we discover are just happy duds or Jim Carey in 23.
Now in the Rainbow Mist Filler the antagonist was Wetton. His sons were Lake and Flip. Those names alone can seem to speak to the One Piece world being full of water or have gotten wet and Oda's love for inversion to Flip everything and for the resting place of something to be in a Lake. However, the real gems here is that I believe these names were inspired by the band King Crimson (Asia). The names are those of band members and their entire track/album listing is pretty suspicious and mindblowing in relation to One Piece. However, the album that first got my attention is "In The Wake of Poseidon". In it are three tracks that reference Peace and one track that is titled The Devils Triangle.
I previously had no interest in ever listening to this band as I never even knew they existed. I may not even like them. However, for some brief research I'm going to give them a go and see what the content of this album is. Best case scenario I find some more clues. Worst case, maybe I end up finding a dope band and some new music to listen to *shrug*

I swear to god someone on reddit had the theory some weeks/month ago about saul being alive, me and a friend of mine discussed all that for hours and figured that the books in the sea look still usable in the backstory in enies lobby and how it could make sense that he is alive. Because aokiji used ice age capusle first, before he used ice age. And we were like maybe he really is alive. I couldn't see anyyyy theory's besides the Reddit one anywhere. The idea Dragon is Robin's father have a big hole. If he really make Revolutionary Army because his wife died by the hand of World Government, he should save Robin first when the wanted poster of Robin is out. Different from Luffy that live in peaceful Sea and taken care by Garp, Dadan and Makino, She live in a very dangerous environment.
I'm pretty sure the revolutionary's said that they've been trying to find her basically since the Ohara incident

It makes me think:
1. Olivia is lunarian
2. Olivia is Luffy's mom
3. Luffy got lunarian's blood from his Olivia
4. Robin is Luffy's older sister
I'm really just waiting now for Saul and Robin to meet and for Robin to say: "I'm glad to be alive."
I think there will come a point in this arc where someone in the crew asks the original Vegapunk about the name of the ancient kingdom but he'll be killed before he can say it in the same way Dr. Clover was killed before he could say it. Also, if this did happen, it would be a good way to reignite the Luffy vs Lucci rematch. It would also make sense if Lucci was the one who came out of nowhere killing Vegapunk before he can speak.
All of this could then lead into the Strawhats escaping to Elbaf, possibly with some of the Punks and Bonney, while the remaining Punks, like Lilith and Shaka, hold their own against CP0 with the Jinbe Seraphim and defend Egghead island from being destroyed. This arc could be a parallel to Ohara if we think about the fact that even if the island does end up getting destroyed, the knowledge that was held there is still living on. So, in the way Ohara saved its knowledge through protecting the books, Vegapunk was able to save his knowledge through the Punks that escaped with the Strawhats.

@@SonGoku-uv4pk CP0's main goal of going to Egghead is to eliminate "Vegapunk" which means the original one and his six Punks. It seems pretty clear, at least visually, that not all the Punks are going to be the best at fighting though Lilith and Shaka do seem like they would be able to handle themselves to a certain degree. This then leaves the other Punks in the hands of the Strawhats and the Strawhats have no reason to stay behind and fight if they are given the opportunity to save at least some of the Punks from CP0. Also, I'd assume that Shaka being Punk 01 would urge that the other Punks prioritize them surviving by any means necessary. This is because any knowledge that the original Vegapunk had would not die with him but rather it would cease to exist if them as the six Punks died. So, if Vegapunk did die, I think Luffy would prioritize the safety of the Punks even if it meant he would have to escape from Lucci.

The historical and character references in One Piece are a part of what makes the series so great.

The advanced Kingdom is a nod to historical advanced ancient societies that are beinv unearthed. I was surprised to learn that the gravitational pul of all objects was discussed long ago. The oldest Analog computer, a box of gears used to determine the various constellations given a date input is dated back to the ancient Greeks. Fully lit cities with full plumbing existed throught the Middle East over a 1000 years ago. Researchers are discovering that there are ancient references to combustion engines dated several thousand years in the past. Nikola Tesla appeared to be rediscovering a lost technology that would provide free energy was silenced by JP Morgan and the government as it would have been a threat to their stronghold over the energy businesses of the time. The Tesla Tower appears to have ancient Egyptian roots as archeologists are discovering. There are soil patches in the Amazon that are "self resyoring" as in they do not require crop rotation to maintain their effectiveness for crop planting.
So much lost human history and Oda is clearly of fan of this lost history and the imagining of what could have happened to them. The Library of Alexandria, along with its collection of human achievements was torched to the ground by the Church as they argued the only book needed is the Bible

The next arc of One Piece is Vira. Oda is going to the islands we haven't visited in a reverse order from when he talked about them to throw us off and surprise us. First he talked about Elbaf in Little Garden, then Vira in Jaya then Eggland in Dressrosa so that means firt Eggland, then Vira and finally Elbaf. Vira will focus on Nami and Brooke. Vira is an island that screams Straw Hats and Revolutionaries.
Robin beeing known as the devils child and light revolution, would even make more sense of dragon is her father

Luffy is now a Sun God, and the Sun God in European mythologies has a sister, the Moon. In Japanese mythology, the Sun Goddess Amaterasu has a brother called Susanoo, who rules the Seas, something the Pirate King would do in One Piece. A bit of a stretch, yes, but every huge fantasy story takes inspiration from mythology.
I would love if luffy and Robin are actually brother and sister this entire time, and still managed to become nakama and look out for each other
