    While I agree this is a disaster in the making, disagree with the 'if this was in England' comment because English beaches and rivers are full of sewage and the government literally couldn't give a crap.

    • @Dreyno
      @Dreyno Год назад +4

      Exactly. Lough Neagh is at the centre of the bit of Ireland that is run from Westminster. If they won’t stop raw human sewage from flowing into their own bathing areas, they’re unlikely to give a crap (pun intended) about Lough Neagh. As big as it is, most English people couldn’t find it on a map.

    The vast majority of slurry goes straight onto the fields. The farmers have to get rid of it somewhere. When the slatted units are full, there full. Ive seen it spread beside rivers in torrential rain. Washed straight into the river. Reported to the relevant authorities and swept under the carpet.
    Herds are too big.

      Farmers need to conduct their business in a more responsible manner, they are continually portraying themselves as victims but in truth most barely make any effort to run their farms in a responsible manner and follow any environmental guidelines.Most of them are only farmers because it's the family business they inherited not because they have any respect for the land and any passion for it.

Surely of all the industries in the world Agriculture should be the one most obsessed with good environmental principles as we are directly ingesting the products farmers produce.
