Back in the day my best friends younger brother was a virtual clone of Dan Hamilton. The exact same hair and even the little gap between his front teeth. It’s pretty cool to see this. When we took him out with us he became the object of attention of the girls every time. That was 40 plus years ago and I still think about him often to this day. Every thing I’ve ever heard about Dan Hamilton was that he was a very nice guy and down to earth. RIP Dan.
I'd like to see a picture of Danny's clone 😁 must have come in handy when meeting girls haha. I also think Danny was a serious musician, down to earth and that in his time was rare, fame changes people and many artists let themselves change. But Danny seemed to be a man so focused on his art. Maybe not being in the media kept him away from the halls of fame, but I'm glad he stayed a nice person and a down to earth man.
Baby, Baby, Falling in Love and Winners And Losers were just as good as Don't Pull Your Love. This group, in my opinion, was my favorite groups in the 70s.. I love the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s the most, and I wish there was more radio stations that would play these old songs. I do like some of the songs of today, but music back then was the best. These days record companies can make anyone sound good by using auto-tune.
Let's not forget pitch correction. Record execs are using today's crap on new album compilations for people like The Eagles! That is a crime! A bunch of big egos and uneducated fools in mysic studios today starting to destroy our great music of 20 and 30 years ago. It is a crime!
@@kln58cub Thanks for the update. Now I know why some songs sound different, as compared to the original recordings. Even when I listen to the original artists in concert, the music is naturally different, but the singers still sound good. No they're not going to sound like they did forty years, but they still sound good.
I have this song on a 45. I think I bought it when I was 15 and still love it. I loved Danny Hamilton's voice, so sad he died so young. Alan Dennison on piano is incredible. It' s nice to hear this live version. By the way, this is definitely a live version, at the end you can actually hear him tapping his foot and the vocals are slightly different.
Once you`ve felt the feelings full Of life and love, the ocean`s flow Don`t let life go by To feel the thrill of love inside Share the thoughts that you can`t hide Don`t let lovers die They say Winners and losers are two of a kind You know, it`s that way They say Winners and losers are two of a kind You know, it`s that way...... So every day, you say again Love`s a risk, don`t hurt your friend And don`t let love go by You fill the cup of life so well Let`s drink to life together Tell the reasons why They say Winners and losers are two of a kind You know, it`s that way They say Winners and losers are two of a kind You know, it`s that way...... When you`re feeling down and low You`ve hurt the one who loves you so Please, don`t you cry Just come to me and I`ll hold you tight My wanting love will make it right And love won`t go by They say Winners and losers are two of a kind You know, it`s that way They say Winners and losers are two of a kind You know, it`s that way Winners and losers Winners and losers Winners and losers Winners and losers
I think they are also playing live because the recorded track doesn't match the tempo of this performance. Maybe they just cut off the sound of the electric instruments at the end, which is why there's discontent.
My question is this! Why doesn't any oldies DJs know this song?? In my opinion, the best song Hamilton, Joe, Frank and Reynolds ever did and did make the charts in 75
Becouse this is an hyibrid music ...like Todd Rungreen style.....there are a crowsroad contemporary pop-jazz-with a bit of country...at least in the voice of Joe Fran or taste k as second voice. Also a bit of soul....melancoly flavor for idealistic people. This type of songs has a target a people like me.
A reduced target like all of us writing here, because this song, besides being astonishingly beautiful, is different. 85,000 views? And the video in which they put this show but the original record, has only 125,000 views.
Actually I was surpirsed to see this question. I heard this song on some late-night avant garde radio show (maybe Baker Street Music on KAAY) when I was in high school.I clicked on this song the second I saw it on youtube.
Fantastic live performance of what I think is their best song. What a wonderful voice Dan Hamilton had, I often wonder what he might have become had fate not been so cruel. Definitely live - the microphones even pick up Dan's foot-stomps at 2:37
This song was an absolute hit in Brazil in the soap opera Anjo Mau. It was the theme of the beautiful Paula interpreted by the actress Vera Gimenez. I remember the scene of the character arriving very beautiful in a white dress with champagne in her hand playing this song.
Thanks for posting. This was from the Rich Little Show. Per the the 'Classic TV Archive' it was episode #2 on NBC, Monday night, Feb 9, 1976 from 8-9pm. The guests included, McLean Stevenson, Karen Valentine, and Hamilton Joe Frank and Reynolds.
Let me begin by saying that McLean Stevenson was very underrated as an actor and comedian. Don't Pull Your Love is one of my all time favorite songs of the 70s. Winners and Losers hardly received much air time on the radio, but I think it was a great song. I cannot say which song is better, only because you can't compare apples to oranges.
They were so talented, but never recieved the recognition they so deserved! Danny Hamilton had such a great voice! Way better than Elvis Presley for sure! Very sad when amazing talent slips by and mediocrity climbs to stardom! How crazy is that?!
I love this beach style genre of music from my era during the early to mid 70’s, although, I’m more of a product of the 80’s New Romantic/ Minimalwave to Industrial/Dark Electro/Early EBM music, I still love some of these uber pop driven songs from the 70’s, even though, I don’t promote myself with this fact
My dad played this when dropping me off at school in the mid 70s on an 8 track in his Chevy truck. And “Rainy Days and Mondays!” by the Carpenters. Those were the days!
Is there a possibility to contact John to tell us some anecdotes from those years? Please tell him it would be incredibly important and beautiful for the fans to know more about the tours, there's hardly any material or stories. It would truly be a huge gift from him to share those memories.❤
I'm confused about Dan... apparently his wife was Anne and they had a daughter, but then Wiki says his widow's name was Frederika...did he remarry before his death?
Dan was married to Ann until approximately 1975, with whom he had his only daughter. They later separated, and Dan then married Fredricka, with whom he lived until his passing 💔.Still, Dan and Ann continued working together in music in the 80s. They recorded 2 more love songs and were planning to release an album called "Dan and Ann Hamilton's Love Songs," but Danny's illness and all the setbacks of those years made it impossible to release that album. On my channel, I've uploaded snippets of those songs as shorts. Dan loved his daughter so much that he did everything possible to ensure that her mother, Ann, had the rights to his songs so that in the event of any contingency, his daughter would lack nothing. Perhaps he had some premonition of his fate or he was simply a very cautious man about the bright future of his only daughter, who according to his acquaintances, was his world.❤
