@AdamMcDermott Yes, almost every main character and boss in the game is there by secret and if found would essentially kick off World War 3 so they explode as a way to leave no trace. It's also a reference to the graphical limitations on Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 where most bosses would appear to just explode and disappear when defeated. Just finding your channel and am binge watching. Great work!
Coming back after all these years when this was the first one you started from scratch now most if not all of the platinum journeys you do all start from scratch.

Hey @Adam McDermott. If you're struggling with the non lethal trophy, there's a work around where you can get away with the killing and still get the Peace Walker trophy. If you capture a poisonous animal alive, you can throw it at the guards to make it much easier. The guard will die of course. But it won't add to the kill count. The only enemies you've killed are that of the bosses at that point. This makes it alot easier especially on harder difficulties. Also one other thing. This game was designed to be played a few times over. You also have to worry about getting all Camos including the uniforms and Face Paint. Using a Non lethal on Bosses also unlocks their default camouflage uniforms. The only acception is the end boss. You have to Sneak around him and hold him up. That and if you take him out non lethally, you get his Sniper tranq gun. Bosses also play into the Peace walker trophy. If you kill them, you won't get the trophy. You also have this Camouflage download thing a mijig. That also has way more Camouflage uniforms or Face paints. If you get all 64 frogs, you unlock the stealth Camo which isn't in the survival viewer inventory. It's in your items. You will probably have to play the game two more times to get the Platinum.

His wheelchair explodes because aside from the boss (and I think the sorrow, considering the state of his remains in the game) all the cobra unit members carried microbombs in their bodies that would explode upon death. It's explained in a codec call, I think after killing the pain? So technically it's not that his wheelchair explodes, it's just that *he* explodes.

@@LyingSecretYep, I got it from RUclips's free audio library. I imagine if MJF wanted something else they'd pay for it, much like Orange Cassidy as you mentioned, but MJF seems happy enough with the track.
Decided to give you an update on my Metal Gear Solid 4 platinum run. In case you didn’t know, the game requires a minimum of 8 play throughs to get the platinum. This is because all 40 emblems need to be collected in order to receive two IPod songs required for a gold trophy. I made the decision to tackle the Chicken Emblem first, which requires a play through exceeding 35 hours. During this run I’d spend time getting collectibles, working on several miscellaneous trophies and emblems, and becoming familiar with the levels and controls which are different from MGS 2 and 3. I also watched all the cutscenes, allowing myself to enjoy the story and get a trophy for watching all the flashbacks. For my 2nd play through, I decided to do a Big Boss practice run. I’d attempt a no alerts, no kills run on a lower difficulty to practice some techniques for the hardest difficulty. I also worked on getting a few more of the miscellaneous trophies I had missed the first time. Unfortunately I accidentally killed an enemy during the last chapter and failed to get a no kills run, but I did manage a no alerts run. For my 3rd run I decided to tackle Big Boss Extreme. This would make or break my run. Let me tell you, the jump from Hard to Extreme was huge. Luckily, there is no limit on saves in MGS 4 as in previous game’s Big Boss Modes. So I took each section between checkpoints as its own challenge and managed to get through Act One, only to hit a brick wall. What I didn’t notice is that Snake starts the game equipped with a ration he automatically used when hit in the first few minutes of the game. So despite getting through Act 1 with no alerts or kills, I had locked myself out of a Big Boss Emblem. Fortunately, trophy hunting has taught me to keep multiple saves, so I decided to start my play through over, but I’d work on a different emblem and practice some more before taking another crack at Big Boss Extreme. I finally got my no kills run, and got all the collectibles but those last two Ipod songs. So I’m sitting at 91% of trophies, but I still need 5 more play throughs, including a Big Boss Extreme run to get the platinum. So close, yet so far, but I know that I’m not going to give up. I can achieve this platinum, and I’ll be sure to let you know when I do!
@@DiamondDogApollo Thanks for the update. Yeah, I'm aware of the 8 playthroughs. Huge undertaking. Oof, that is rough on your Big Boss attempt. I admire your preservation. Best of luck to you and definitely keep me posted.
I plan to platinum these next year. I just broke my record for platinums achieved in a year (19 vs last years 16), so I’m saving these for then. Looking forward to hating myself over these though! Although, there is a trophy in the Evil Within DLC for killing the main villain before he’s supposed to die.
How can you do it in 1 play through if you’re supposed to complete with 0 kills, and also kill the end before the boss fight?! Also it looked like you also killed the guard while killing the End.
@@AdamMcDermott Haha the agony has already begun! Haha! Alright! Plan of action! You inspired this... Currently playing 2 and 3 for xbox got 15 achievements left and its the grindy ones! Just rewatching this as it's 1 of my favourite videos on one of my favourite games, as for when did I figure out snake would get sick if I spun him around I believe the 1st time I figured it out was on my 2nd playthrough on the Ps2 at the end of the game when you're escorting Eva after she gets hurt coming off the bike haha great times. Also the whole Raiden thing I believe is just if you played MGS1 1st you hated him as I played it about 50 times before MGS2 came out and I couldn't wait for it but when they replaced Snake I was so mad, it wasn't on till years later I realised MGS2 was a good game I put it above MGSGZ and MGSTPP.
The additional of spinning Snake making him sick is so absurd and hilarious. Interesting. Yeah, if you replayed MGS 1 and adored Snake it would be so annoying. I believe that was Kojima's intention though. Raiden is such a wimp compared to Snake. When you meet him later he even has "infinite ammo" thanks to the headband. Annoying at the time of release but fascinating game in hindsight.
@@AdamMcDermott aw I was so pissed off, the whole time I played the game at a boss battle I was like I'm going to take control over snake soon because in all the trailers you'd see snake fighting them all, I remember loading up the demo disc with the videos on it to double check snake was in the trailers ha
This game is so hard to Platinum becuase of all the collectibles that you have to grab and if you miss a camo you lose out on the Fashionista achievement.
It is a royalty-free song that has been available since 2014. Called "Dig Deep" by RW Smith. RUclips offer it as part of their audio library. Caught me off guard when I heard it as MJF's theme. Thought themes were always custom-made or official licensed music. Works for him though.

I grew up on MGS1 and played it about 50 times, but Raiden in MGS2 never bothered me, I really liked that game too
His wheelchair explodes because aside from the boss (and I think the sorrow, considering the state of his remains in the game) all the cobra unit members carried microbombs in their bodies that would explode upon death. It's explained in a codec call, I think after killing the pain?
So technically it's not that his wheelchair explodes, it's just that *he* explodes.
Very cool. Didn't know that detail. Thanks for the info.
8:31 when a Cobra dies their microbomb explodes to keep enemies from researching their bodies I guess
Yep, someone else also pointed out. News to me.
Holy shit. 15 mins in..... MJF theme!
Was freaky for me hearing it a few later when AEW started. Wonder how many others have royalty free music.
I honestly think you should have more subscribers. The content is very well organised, the struggles and completion of trophies are well conveyed.
Thank you for the kind words. Don't worry, regardless of subscriber number, I'll keep making episodes of Platinum Journey :)
I'm about to go through this platinum journey myself kinda nervous about missing any of the frog's or not killing anyone
Best of luck. If I can do it, I'm sure you can too.
@@AdamMcDermott thank you this will be my 100th platnum
@@AdamMcDermott I just got the platnum I'm so freaking happy I have 100 now
@@cassiebarber4669 Congratulations!
Never played this game before but now i might give it a try
Well worth a play. Enjoy.
I just watched your MGS4 Platinum video and we are indeed suckin diesel today bai... You're quar feckin young in this video though haha
Love the videos bud! 👍❤️🇮🇪
Haha, welcome to the channel. Yeah, been making videos for quite a while.
Glad you are enjoying my videos.
Adaaaaam
We miss you!
+THEMANN20001 Don't worry, new episode of Platinum Journey this Wednesday featuring Uncharted 3 :)
15:33 was that MJFs entrance music?
Yep. Caught me off guard when AEW started. No expense spared for their future champion.
Wow, did they really use stock music for MJF? I didn't even realise. Yet will pay out for music for Orange Cassidy and the-like, good going Tony.@@AdamMcDermott
@@LyingSecretYep, I got it from RUclips's free audio library. I imagine if MJF wanted something else they'd pay for it, much like Orange Cassidy as you mentioned, but MJF seems happy enough with the track.
About to attempt this one myself! Re-watching this again also gets me hyped for the MGS4 episode
Best of luck! The MGS4 episode is trucking along well and will hopefully be done in 2-3 weeks.
@@AdamMcDermott Amazing! Looking forward to it once it’s ready!
7:10 Modern Warfare Remastered!
It didn't exist at the time of the video being made ;)
Adam McDermott oh yeh one year after, didn’t realise :)
@@tonygledhill3654 No worries :)
I thought you missed recapturing the Tsuchinoko after scaping.
Great stuff 👍
Just finished up this platinum over the weekend. Did it in one shot. Shooting frogs from the bike was the hardest part. Now on to MGS 4!
Yeah, those damned frogs are tricky. Best of luck with MGS 4. That is a mighty platinum.
Thanks! I’m about 20 hours into my first run (need 35 hours just for the chicken emblem). I’ll update you when I’ve got the platinum or I’ve given up.
@@DiamondDogApollo Nice. Cheers, keep me posted.
8:23-8:35 my guess there was a bomb in the wheelchair just like in that breaking bad episode
June 2023 😊
Thank for still watching years later. Very cool :)
When I was getting the platinum I got to the end of the playthrough and had 1 kill.
Oof, that is rough.
what collectible guide did you use? i cannot find any with all camo facepaints and kerotans in one lol
Here was the guide I used for everything - www.playstationtrophies.org/game/metal-gear-solid-3-snake-eater-hd/guide/
I plan to platinum these next year. I just broke my record for platinums achieved in a year (19 vs last years 16), so I’m saving these for then. Looking forward to hating myself over these though!
Although, there is a trophy in the Evil Within DLC for killing the main villain before he’s supposed to die.
19 is one year is impressive. Fair play to you!
15:22 - MJF's theme but this video is from 2015...
Wow, that is crazy!
Mjf theme in there
Freaked me out when AEW started and he was using it as a theme song. Spared no expense, haha.
Hahaha im dead on this part when you said "No platinum trophy 🏆 😂 this is not part of the plan " 😭😂
Hey adam, MGS3 Remake was announced!! Will you platinum it?
Depending on the trophy list. Certainly enticed.
How can you do it in 1 play through if you’re supposed to complete with 0 kills, and also kill the end before the boss fight?! Also it looked like you also killed the guard while killing the End.
Save, kill The End, reload, carry on. Yep, I made a mistake at some point I think. Another reload.
@@AdamMcDermott gotcha!
algorithm has chosen you my friend
Pretty cool
@@AdamMcDermott indeed
you’re pretty good! 👉🏾👉🏾

15:45 is this the MJF theme music!

@@AdamMcDermott Haha the agony has already begun! Haha! Alright! Plan of action! You inspired this... Currently playing 2 and 3 for xbox got 15 achievements left and its the grindy ones! Clean that up! Then double down my friend! Gonna get a cheap Ps3 and clean it up again on that platform then get onto MGS 4, wish me luck! Cheers! Ill update ya next year haha!
@@NickGould50687 Oh my that is a lot! Best of luck to you, sir.
Well! That action plan is put to a halt Been on a dead space kick waiting for Calisto protocol! Hope to see that one in a future episode!
I could do this with enough practice eventually I've already done a few non lethal runs
Non-lethal runs are fun challenging. You will have no problem getting the platinum.
@@aarontoal Oh yes. I forgot about the trailers. That was a mighty bait and switch. I understand your frustration.
2:46 Imagine the ps5 ver you can get spotted and play the game on extreme with insane requirements and under 5 hrs.
It is a mighty tempting challenge :)
This game is so hard to Platinum becuase of all the collectibles that you have to grab and if you miss a camo you lose out on the Fashionista achievement.
In modern warfare remastered you can create a paradox by sniping the main villain of the future games and earn an achievement
Yep. At the time of making this video, Modern Warfare remastered hadn't been released. I've been at this a looooong time.
Wait how did you kill the end and then fight the end?
Reload save.
you have only 5k subs? the whole video was entertaining & funny
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Adam, any chance of master collection
Hey. I'll be doing MGS1 from the collection at some point. Never played it before so I'm quite excited.
No this video is not 8 years old and you are not a MGS freak like me. Congrats bro your content deserves better views .🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Time flies, buddy. Cheers. That is nice of you to say.
Modern warfare remastered has a time paradox trophy but that game was released a year after this video.
Good to know. Thanks for checking the date of the video :)
How do u have MJF's theme in the background?
It is a royalty-free song that has been available since 2014. Called "Dig Deep" by RW Smith. RUclips offer it as part of their audio library.
Caught me off guard when I heard it as MJF's theme. Thought themes were always custom-made or official licensed music. Works for him though.
@@AdamMcDermott cool 👍 learn something new everyday 😂 love ur vids btw
I'm sad that im doing thiss trophy now but i killed someone without knowing so i got all the trophies except PEACE WALKER so now i need to replay the game to get it
I know one other game where you can create a time paradox, it is modern warfare Remastered (COD4 respectively) after shooting zakhaev, you can also shoots makarov on a backseat of a car :D he is the antagonist of the following games MW2 and MW3
I didn't know that. Very cool. Thanks for the insight.
are you going to do metal gear solid 5 ?
+Aspro *PC & Ps3* At some point, but I still have MGS 4 to do first.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered has a time paradox trophy where you kill Makarov thus preventing the results of Modern Warfare 2 and 3
That came out after I made this episode. Shows how long I've been making the series :)
@@AdamMcDermott yep scary how fast time goes when you’re having fun
Do you have to non Lethally kill the bosses aswell
I think so, with the tranq gun. This was ages ago, best check a proper guide to be sure.

I put all the songs in the description. In hindsight, I should have put time codes beside them.
The song is Rallying the Defense by Per Kiilstofte.

18:03 oh that’s why you ended up shaving your head
Haha, that and thinning hair on top.
Is Snake Eater a good place to get into Metal Gear? I want to start the series but I’ve no clue which one to start with.
Snake Eater is a good place to start. It is a prequel so you don't need to know anything about the overall series story.
Adam McDermott I started it today on PS Now and I’m enjoying it so far, but I am terrible at the game because of the odd controls. The story is top notch. Thanks for the response.
@@Fortnite-mn5zo Yeah, the controls can take a bit of time to get used to, but it will click at some point. Also, no harm in flicking the difficulty down to easy. Enjoy!
