I remember back in the day of the PS2, that there's a hidden path to get back to the top of the waterfall after the battle with the Sorrow. It was a bit of a pain to get on but doable. The path is the one used by the guards/enemies when they enter the area searching for Snake. I had to use a map that showed the path, that I had found on one of the game sites that hosted walk-thru's and guides but I lost it over time. Is it still in the game or did it get removed? If it's still in the game would be nice if a vid could be done on it. You need the key given for the locked door that you can't access due to the escape chase. The door becomes accessible via the hidden path. From what I remember is nothing special inside the door other than just some useful items. I has driven me crazy for years knowing it's there but forgetting how to find the path and people forgetting about it.

If anyone is playing on normal like i am and doesn't have the EZ Gun, after The Boss breaks your gun at the start of Operation Snake Eater you can hit the Kerotan with your stun grenades if you angle them right and don't want to get the AK47 and backtrack
Thanks! You can also create some distance by running away to the edge of the arena and use the Mosin Nagant to shoot it as well as the Boss for some extra stamina damage.

This is incredible guide dude, i complete the game on 100% In three days, and this was my second playthrough. All that remains is to obtain the title of Foxhound.
This is an excellent guide, one of the best I've seen for this game, nevere realised you could get so many cheevos in one playthrough, you thought about doing guides for the dog tags in MGS2 on, each difficulty up to unlocking infinite ammo and stealth camo on both the tanker and plant? I know it'd be a massive pain in the arse, it was when I did it without a guide, but I'm sure people would appreciate it, I would've lol, however I also completely understand if you don't wanna go through that after the extreme run.
Thanks for the kind words! I had a lot of fun making this all-in-one guide, and I'm glad it is helpful. I went back and forth in my mind about the dog tag guides, but I ultimately decided against it because as I was researching it all, I found a few guides that did a nice job of showing the dog tag locations for the different difficulties. Essentially to get the trophy, you just need to get the dog tags on Very Easy, Easy, and Normal difficulties to get enough, and then when you beat the game after collecting them, the trophy / achievement will pop. The tanker is a little funny because some of the ones in the holds at the end with the Marines are ridiculous to get, so I skipped those and just did the easier ones on the Hard difficulty because it was simpler. I may circle back around and do it if I get some free time. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😄

What if you miss a keratin frog halfway through the game and if you replay the game and don’t hit any other keratin frogs and only the one you miss will it still give you the achievement
Thanks! way better than the strategy guide for the ps2 I was using. I can't stand those frogs and even the guide was like we don't know where 3 of them are good luck. Ive been playing the ps3 version. Thanks again!
How annoying! Yeah, I use those awful text guides as my template and translate them into video form, so I definitely feel your pain with trying to make sense of them! 😃
Great guide but, since this is going for a 100% completion, I HIGHLY recommend you do this first run on Extreme so that you have a file with all of the unlocks (mostly the camos and facepaints) for your foxhound run. Spider, Moss, and spirit especially can really make a huge difference in the ease of a foxhound run.
The difference of doing foxhound on new game plus compared to new game is minimal. For most people a full collectable run it's best done on very easy. EE is hard enough without needing to worry about getting everything.
@@ScotsmanJ I don't really find it to be very challenging when you don't care about rank and can just kill all the guards and go about your collecting but whatever works for you!

I'm one snake shorter, I think I missed the poisonous snake at the beginning because I didn't have a tranquilizer gun.. Also for some reason I have ONE alert 🙄🙄 I'll give it another try on easy difficulty like yours ! Thank you !
I would recommend starting a new game using that save file you just completed and use the GA-KO camo. The camo will make a noise when you enter the area with an unshot frog. That should help you find it. I’m not 100% sure on this, but some people say that the frogs carry over into a new game+ run.
Can I watch the cut scenes while following your video or will that void one of the trophies somewhere along the way? I’m on my first play through on this version, which I’ve not played for almost a decade.

Snake Eyes can be done on any difficulty. You just need to push and hold the first-person-view button through that portion of the cutscene. It doesn't have to be exact, so you can start holding the button before the moment and release the button after the moment at any time, and it will still count.

@@itzmorgan88 I do have a couple MGS2 guides on my channel. One for the VR training and one for how to get the Big Boss Rank. I hope you check them out sometime.
Thanks, and I hear you about the time stamps. The reason I didn’t do that is because the whole video is designed to flow together and guide the viewer directly from one thing to the next. Timestamps seemed like something you would use to jump around in a video, and I didn’t want to encourage that because it would create a big opportunity to miss things, and that seemed like it would be a disservice to the viewer.
I just didn’t have much of a reason to get it based on the scope and intent of the video; it’s not related to any trophies and there is no real strategic reason to get it this run, so it would just make the video longer.
I think i selected i like MGS1 instead of MGS3 I don’t think i have that Flecktarn camo, can i still get the Trophy associated with collecting all camos? I’m pretty far and don’t wanna restart 😢
You start with it when you begin the game on Very Easy. For other difficulties, the gun can be obtained by capturing or killing all 48 types of plants and animals in the game, including the four medicinal plants.

I think he can also appear perched on the corner of the ammo shed. You can use your thermal goggles to look around and find him.
@MaskedMatador Yes I got him that way
Damn i don't have the trophy for the kerotan but i have the title at the end why 😢
Would this work on the ps3 hd version? Me and my bud want the ps3 platinums for the hd collections
Yes, the Master Collection is essentially just the PS3 version, so it will work.
@MaskedMatador Awesome, i hope you can make MGS2/Peace Walker guides too.. cheers! 🍻 👏
@@itzmorgan88 I do have a couple MGS2 guides on my channel. One for the VR training and one for how to get the Big Boss Rank. I hope you check them out sometime.
can i use this guide on extreme difficulty?
For the most part, yes. There will probably be more enemies in different positions, but the collectibles will probably all be in the same place.
A miss one animal… the thing is, a got all trophies related to animals and yet i miss one.
I'm stuck, snake won't hold up an enemy for some reason
same
Thank you so much mate
My pleasure!
Really great guide and well set out, but it could really do with some timestamps!
Thanks, and I hear you about the time stamps. The reason I didn’t do that is because the whole video is designed to flow together and guide the viewer directly from one thing to the next. Timestamps seemed like something you would use to jump around in a video, and I didn’t want to encourage that because it would create a big opportunity to miss things, and that seemed like it would be a disservice to the viewer.
is there a reason u didnt get the croc cap? just curious
I just didn’t have much of a reason to get it based on the scope and intent of the video; it’s not related to any trophies and there is no real strategic reason to get it this run, so it would just make the video longer.
damn for some reason that seemed like it wouldve been one. Thanks!
Thank you boss!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I think i selected i like MGS1 instead of MGS3 I don’t think i have that Flecktarn camo, can i still get the Trophy associated with collecting all camos? I’m pretty far and don’t wanna restart 😢
Yeah, I think you should get them all at the very end of the game, so you should be okay.
For The Fear, I did what you did but didn't shoot with tranq. I just let the trap finish him off. Is this ok or was this lethal?
If the spider camo was on the ground after the fight, it was a non-lethal kill.
@MaskedMatador I've already collected all camos so I can't know that way 😢
If you threw the stun grenade first and he died while still being stunned, it is non-lethal. You should be good.
@MaskedMatador Great thank you and thank you for this video. I enjoy even just listening to it while I play
Does the guide work for the PS3 version?
Yes, the master collection version of MGS3 is essentially just a port of the PS3 HD Collection version, so it’ll be identical.
Thanks. I'm half way through your guide now. Really appreciate all the effort you put into this! Thank you so much.
I missed Snake Charmer nooo!!!
I dont have the healing radio why is that
they're different depending on difficulty. there's a ton, so just look them up.
I accidentally went into caution mode at the very beginning should i restart or am i good?
Caution is okay, but not alerts. You should be alright to keep going.
@MaskedMatador thanks for responding and thanks for the guide now I just need FOXHOUND rank
@yes2462 You can do it!
Question if i do this on easy mode will it transfer to normal?
No, the rewards for completing the game are locked to that difficulty.
“”Where can you find the EZ Gun on normal and hard?””
You start with it when you begin the game on Very Easy. For other difficulties, the gun can be obtained by capturing or killing all 48 types of plants and animals in the game, including the four medicinal plants.
Didn’t get the it ain’t easy being green trophy I followed your guide not sure what I missed
The true boss of the cobra unit is The kerotan.
1.29 best sniper in the game and he said u don't need anything from here lol
The SVD isn’t necessary to grab because this is a non-lethal run. You also automatically get it added to your inventory later.
@@MaskedMatador I see is this the same reason u should how to get shotgun and AK . U missing alot of pick ups but this is still good video to learn from
@@djfckya Yes, this guide is intended to show you what you need to do to get the trophies and achievements for the collectibles in the most efficient way. There is a trophy for getting all of the weapons, so I show how to get them all to fulfill the trophy requirements, but there is no reason to collect everything in the game if it doesn't tie into the trophy requirements (such as the croc cap). Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it!
@@MaskedMatador ok now I got it cheers 👍 because I seen u picking up the fork and it gives u the achievement for all weapons when I seen u did not pick up a few of them I was thinking something wrong here
I think Snake Eyes trophy is bugged on Steam? Unless your meant to press RB at the exact same time.
