    In those protests, why is it only the Punjab people protesting? I didn't see any Filipino, Chinese, Brazillian international students there. Why only Punjab parts of India? Looks to me like Punjab people have made it more difficult for all international students now. They are the ones who actually does protests on every small or bigger thing. They do the same in india, USA everywhere. Even they do protests in other countries to put pressure on india so that india can give them a separate country. No hate towards them not all are doing the same. Many are well educated and of course serves our indian army but the rest bad ones are presenting the community too. So, everyone looks bad and the same way they are from punjab but indians right? So they represent india as well. Same happens to every indian.

      Not everyone who wears a turban is from Punjab and there are many non-sikhs in punjab too. People from punjab protest the most because the have the most to loose given the circumstances. Also since when is protesting for your rights a bad thing? No one in US protested for our rights and now we have to live with an idiotic country cap for life!

      @JanviChaudhari-y5r 3 месяца назад +15

      @ it is true That not everyone who wears turban are from punjab. They can be from pakistan or from any other country as well. Also, protesting for rights is not a bad thing but protesting for every single thing is really a bad thing. Canada is not giving wp-extension let’s protest. Colleges failing us let’s protest. Prince Edward Island reduced 25% nominations let’s protest. We want a separate country from India let’s protest here in canada or USA. Does that make any sense? And why is only punjabis doing all this protests? Not every intl. Person is punjabi. They are from all over the world and why is only punjabis think they are doing protests for their right? Why no other intl. Person even from other parts of india thinks about doing the same ? You know why? Because they don’t do all the labour jobs in factories, they try to get higher positions & skill jobs to make their way towards PR or something but they don’t do protests for every single thing. Please don’t try to bring your religious thinking here because it is not about your religious it is about a punjabi community as a whole no matter what religious community they belong from. Kubeir, I came here in 2014. It was such a different time then compared to now. I had taken only one year study permit as I wanted to do information security but didn't have funds and couldn't take more loans to afford a second year of study in the same field. So when my ONE year work permit was expiring, I quietly left Canada. I didn't throw a tantrum and protest. Despite all that, I became a permanent resident in 2017 and citizen only last year. I would be embarrassed to go and protest for a reason like that because why should Canada OWE me anything? I also paid good money to come and study here but so what? Play by the rules. If you are SO good, such cream of the crop, you should not be worried about having to leave. You will still be eligible for PR legally and properly, no? These students who fail courses and then cry about why they were failed and then protest for that too, that behaviour is just wrong.

    As an international student from India waiting for my PR application finalization, I have always tried to represent India wherever I go. It is exhausting but necessary. I have Canadian friends, I have tried Canadian cuisine and have tried to integrate into Canadian life as much as I can. Since the day I applied for a study permit to Canada, I never took a PR for granted. I knew the risk I was taking and I was prepared to leave Canada mentally if something went wrong. A permanent residency in Canada is indeed a privilege and a lot depends on your education level, language skills, social skills, technical skills and...sheer blind luck.
    Having said that I know that a lot of Indian international students do not even care to integrate. All they want is to create silos for themselves in Canada which creates a lot of resentment among Canadians. This must stop.

    All this study visa and lmia process was created to mainly 3 reasons
    1. To supress the high wages and make the wages so lower that the confidence should be broken of any worker so that he or she cannot demand raise or promotion and continue to do the 16, 17 ,18 $ hr job for 5 years and thus providing huge benefits to big corporations.....
    2. To collect insane amount of billions of dollars funds in govt pocket and to take advantage of poor indian families capability of giving finances to Canadian govt..
    3. To create job insecurity, low confidence workers, surplus amount of labour suppy just like china....

    I was an international student in Australia, studied there and worked there during my pgw visa. I applied for PR but when I didn't get it due to similar situation as in Canada, I went back to India. When opportunity came knocking for applying for Canada PR. I gave my IELTS, scored 8889 , got the required crs score and came to Canada on a PR.
    So rather than cursing your luck or blaming others for your misfortune, try to improve your situation by either improving your crs scores or improve your situation by going back to your home country. There are ample opportunities even in your home country if you know where to look.

  • @LSnew1224
    @LSnew1224 3 месяца назад +10

    People complain about Australian policies being tight for PR, now you get the answer why. Canada opened its borders and look at the mess it is in right now. High unemployment rates, the services arent that great like public transport and healthcare.
    Better yet the categories and the actual labour market needs are not in alignment. OINP asks for IT professionals to come over where as there arent any IT jobs. Its clearly at a point where immigration has to be stopped for sometime like when they paused the FSW draws. Many PRs will give a try for a few months but once they realise better job prospects await back home, they leave. The sensible ones arent coming here to work in Ubers or Tims. They want something in their field. All in all immigration system is just a scam to bring in people with money and circulate that money inside Canada. Thats the way they are avoiding recession. Best thing is stop the obsession with Canada or any other country and work on their own careers back home. I think Kubeir too spoke about it before, many come to Canada due to the shiny object syndrome. To tell facts there's nothing great in Canada anymore except for the freedom to travel due to the passport. People arent friendly, no jobs, high cost of living, shitty weather, even the GTA gets flooded like the south asian countries so yeah.

    Negative sentiments towards Indians in Canada can be valid. Do you really believe there aren't any reasons for them to blame us? I think there are several.
    I immigrated to Canada in 2024 and have been living in Brampton, often referred to as "Mini India," for just three months. I’m already feeling fed up with both Brampton and the GTA. There are many reasons to dislike this place: car theft, high insurance rates, accidents, a poor driving culture, littering, crime rates, robbery, safety concerns, and disturbing Canadians through protests and celebrations of our festivals on the streets. Unfortunately, much of this is due to our community.

So it could be anyone because India has a large number of population majority of people are coming from that country but the point is; is it a mistake of those students so everyone are blaming them and giving them so much hate.? Or is it a mistake of govt. that they announced such policies and even reduced the language benchmark each module 6 (speaking,listening,writing,reading) to 5. Even they grant PR to those who have CLB 4. Kuber’s point is do not give hate to students. Fix the roots (i.e. government)

    I do have respect for you but I'm just wondering if you can please answer my question. When students apply for a student visa and they come over here they complete their study. They get the pgwp or whatever the visa is. PR programs are still in place but the requirements of the numbers are high due to the applicants scoring more now. So if they cannot make it to that program then is it the fault of the government? No They need to extend their visas because now the scores are too high. No, it's not. Yes, there's a fault of the government to take the international students at a very large number without the quality One of my cousin. I applied for her Visa in the economic program right under PR Express entry on July 2nd. She got an invitation under the Stem category on July 5th, 2 days after and then yesterday she got her permanent residency so within 2 months approximately she got her Visa. She's in India right now but her scores were like 480s and she got her Visa because she got the skills right. If you got the skills and you work in an appropriate industry then you still have the chances to be invited . But if you are not able to score that much and your Visa is expiring. It doesn't give you the right to request for an extension of visa just because rules are changing. When you sign a retainer I believe you would be having the same clause that rules are changing everyday so we do not take a guarantee of you being successful with a visa. Isn't it? Everyone who has been granted an extension previously as a one time measure cannot take it for granted. They must go back and apply for a visa again if they are deemed fit for any permanent residency pathway as per the requirements.

      @@AskKubeir The question is rules change periodically. Even tho the pathway for all students still exists and due to high scores, they are not able to score enough to secure an ITA. Is this the fault of the government or do you think students who already got the extensions or the one who are studying should go back after their visa expires if they are not able to secure an ITA? Doing protests asking for an extension on the basis of past history/rules is not right. They can't have that privilege all the time. Please do not get offended! Just wanna get the scenario right here.

They also take up a bigger percentage in these professions than general population percentage. Nobody says anything. It has been for decades. Nobody is screaming too many Indian doctors, lawyers etc. heck as you know some of the big tech companies have East Indian CEO’s. North America respects all the hard work and accomplishments. We werent promised Permanent residency or long term work permit while we came to canada. Rather than blaming the government, protesting and demanding things, I spent my time researching what are my possible ways to get permanent residency.

    My uncle immigrated to Canada from Punjab in 1960 and faced significant racism and inequality. It was the Punjabi community that fought for their rights, paving the way for many Indian communities to enjoy the freedoms and equal rights they have today. While I’m not taking a stance on whether the current student protests are right or wrong, singling out one community for hatred is unjust. We must remember that it's largely due to the efforts of Punjabis that things are now easier for new arrivals from India, including access to desi restaurants, a sense of home, and Gurdwaras, where langar is served to all, regardless of caste or religion.

Mass deportation is the only way for Canada to regain its identity and strong economy. Sometimes racism is justified, open your eyes and try to put yourself in our shoes. How would Indians feel if millions of white Canadians came to India and treated your country as you do to ours. It’s the entitlement and privilege that your people have that bothers us

    So if your quite educated like you claim, why not go home and grow your country and create your own companies. Why force yourself in a western countries that are not yours. In you guys dont want to go home. You force yourself to be in that country. India is not the only country that goes there for jobs or student visa's. They went home willingly. but you protest and want to stay. If the companies dont need you anymore. They dont need you. Go home. Those are working visa and student visad. If you finish school go home. If your job is finish go home. Its not a basis for citizenship or permanent residence. Countries are allowed to change their rules and their laws. To fix their country. Go home your country is responsible for you not western countries. Stop playing victim.
