As a bachelor with no family, going to Waffle House for my Christmas dinner has become my annual tradition for almost a decade now. The problem can be finding one where you can get a seat as Christmas Day is one of their busiest days of the year. I have had to drive to four or five locations before I found one that wasn't packed.
The middle guy is a chef at a restaurant the 2 Brits visited . He's a Southern chef that cooked for them . From what I remember he cooked for them and they hit it off . The question they asked is where would he go after a few drinks ? He said that the Waffle House would be his choice . The Waffle House , Denny's and the Huddle House are well known in the South !

Southerners have a knack for finessing language in a way as to sidestep vulgarity. At least, most of them used to. Kyle Kinane's first track (Titled, "Beef") on his "Loose In Chicago" album from 2016 covers this. Unfortunately, that entire album's track list is named after the ingredients of a beef hot dog, so citing specific tracks from memory is a bit of a bitch.

They've got quirky code names for the options that are kind of like the old short order cook lingo used in diners from way, WAY back in the day
We finally got a Waffle House in our town this month and I am so happy!! The two best things on the menu are the hash browns - smothered & covered and the Patty Melts. Last year my husband got out of the hospital on Christmas Eve and we didn't have food in the house because he'd been in there 12 days so we punted and went to Waffle House. Worth it.
Adam, earlier in this day, those same 3 guys, Noah, Josh and Ollie went to an awesome BBQ restaurant. Then they got drunk and poured themselves into this Waffle House. The BBQ joint is just as funny as this one.
I believe this was shot in Savannah, GA. Waffle House was founded in Avondale Estates, GA, in 1955. The original site now houses "The Waffle House Museum". 24/7/365, when I was a kid the stores didn't even HAVE locks on the doors. Noah (the wasted dude) is a Georgia native. WH is a MUST after latenight bar crawls. Gotta hit the Awful Waffle!
Dipping sausage in syrup is absolutely the way to go. (Also strawberry preserves.) If I make a sausage egg & cheese breakfast sandwich, I add a layer of strawberry preserves (Smuckers, of course) to both pieces of the bread or biscuit. Heavenly! Oh, and here's another tip, Adam. You can add syrup to your scrambled eggs before cooking and they'll taste like McDonald's McGriddles.
Among American foods, the most potent mix of terrible looking and amazing tasting is biscuits and gravy. Waffle House could very easily rebrand to Hash Browns House. A double order of well-done browns smothered (with grilled onion) and capped (with grilled mushroom) is Heaven. If Waffle House had real butter, cheddar or Swiss cheese, and better coffee, I would just move into one, and live happily until my fatal coronary three days later. Waffle House is based in and most concentrated in the South (meaning the mostly-formerly-Confederate Southeast), but has locations in some other parts of the country, as well. A running gag when visiting the South and asked where you’re staying is to answer, “Near the Waffle House.” EVERYTHING in the South is near a Waffle House. I worked in disaster services, where it’s a truism that, if the Waffle Houses close for a hurricane; etc, it must be really bad. Otherwise, WHs don’t close for anything. For some reason, Wafffle House’s multi-story-tall sign poles are often the only structures still standing after the most catastrophic weather.
Nah, that's a Southerner's going out - outfit. He's a tad drunk, yes... it's his BD - he's allowed ;) Also International House of Pancakes, my fave burger joint is Steak & Shake, which does not follow the naming convention Ollie was doing. I believe this was filmed in Georgia somewhere. (Don't quote me b/c earlier they were in TX... so.... maybe they were in TX when this was filmed... not certain. (Or they caught a flight).
We use Waffle House to determine how bad a hurricane, an ice/snow storm , or any natural disaster is here in America. If Waffle House is closed, it's bad because Waffle House never closes, not even for holidays. 😂😂🤣
1. That Waffle House is unusually peaceful at 3:00 a.m. in Atlanta. 2. Dude is PLASTERED! 3. My god that sammich looks AMAZING! 4. That Waffle House is spotless…concerning. 5. That’s server is nice….that is also concerning.
When I worked security late nights, my buddy that worked the door with me, we would both head to good ole WH. Sketchy things happen in between 12am-5am 😂😂. Also pretty sure all waffle house employees have to know how to fight 😂
One thing about us Americans in the south, if you’re hungry we are going to feed you. Usually with home cooked put meat on your bones kind of food. Nobody leaves the south hungry. As for Waffle House, when you’re coming back home in the middle of the night from a road trip to another state or from somewhere in your state with your stomach rumbling at 2:00am, seeing that Waffle House sign means some good cooking.
So theres, hockey, bass pro shops, waffle house, country folk, costco, walmart. And such all within about 25 min of where i live. Look at south florida near ft lauderdale/davie fl. I know youre doin orlando, were bout 3 hrs South. On the east coast.
They messed up not doing "scattered and smothered" hash browns (onion is added). Also comes covered (cheese), chunked (tomatoes) and a few others. Their plain hash browns are fine...but with the sauteed onion. *chef kiss
Scattered, smothered, covered and chucked. That's some good eating! Oh, for those who don't speak Waffle House. That's hashbrowns( fried potatoes) that's Scattered around smothered means add onions covered throw cheese on top and chucked add ham chunks also. So so good. Chopped texas cheese streak sandwich. So yummy. The best thing is the food is fresh cooked in front of you and doesn't break the bank. Never ear WH grits!! They don't put salt in the cooking water. That should be a crime.
You forgot "capped" (Mushrooms) And "peppered" ( jalapenos) "diced" (tomatoes) "country" (cream sausage gravy) "topped" (chili - as in the spicy tomato based stew with meat)
They are currently in savannah georgia. waffle house originated in atlanta, georgia. there are waffle houses all over the south east and there is also one in orlando, Fl. when on your trip there definitely go for breakfast or late night haha whatever your preference, its great either way!
Waffle House was my very 1st job many years ago. Back then the salesperson would call out the orders to the grill operator and walk away. The grill operator was expected to remember all the orders without looking at tickets. You could get a "call back" if you couldn't remember. In the mid 90s they introduced The Magic Marker system where you would do stuff like put hashbrowns or a pickle on a plate to help remember the order. I just couldn't do it that way after many years of just remembering.
I think I like Waffle House but I’ve never eaten there sober so I might be wrong And yes, there are several locations in Orlando so we expect to see you enjoying their food soon
Thirty years ago, when I was in high school Waffle House had an all you can eat option for like $14. Never-ending burgers, patty melts, tasty hashbrowns, whatever you wanted.
they didn't eat the grits right & it's a shame nobody at the restaurant told them what to put in it -- for restaurant grits, you ALWAYS need a decent amount of salt, pepper, butter, & maybe some crumbled up patty sausage for texture if you've got it. that looks like sad mush & they barely touched it. also, waffle house is a bit of a coin toss tbh. some of them you get the best breakfast you've ever had, others will give you food poisoning, & pretty much all of them have a small risk of witnessing a shootout or fight of some kind. it's just a universal law at this point. I've never met anyone who worked at waffle house at any point in their life that wasn't full of drama lol
Love this episode of Jolly! I think Noah is from Georgia! He’s a chef. He cracks me up! You can go to Waffle House in Orlando but it won’t be as authentically southern probably 😁 great reaction ✌🏻🫶🏻
You'll have Waffle House in Orlando, there's about 12 of them that I've seen when I've been there. Just know that the food is really not that good. the reason why they are busy later at night is because they are one of the only places that are open 24 hours. It's best to go there when you've been drinking or "something" is because you'll probably be hungry and if you're in a mentally altered state, you won't care as much that the food isn't that good. But it definitely is an experience lol
Hey Adam, when in Orlando take your girlfriend out drinking and tell the Uber driver to take you to the nearest Waffle House at 3:00 am. Problem solved.
I love waffles....one day I was on the submarine USS Florida SSBN-728, having been underwater about 60 days, at a depth of around 500 feet (152 m), and I decided to start eating waffles from the middle to the outside! It was wonderful. 🙂 But cleaning the waffle maker is a LOT of work, and it has to be done before and after each breakfast. My main job was sonar, but all junior enlisted have to spend time working in the mess deck (eating area) to humble us lol. I would scrub and wipe it until it looked spotless and the Culinary Specialist Senior Chief would still say, "nope, clean it again, nub". (nub = "non-useful body", someone who is not Qualified in Submarines yet.) lmao 😂🤣😂
Adam, I was waiting for this video from Jolly and Noah. I'll be happy when you come back to the US and eat some of our delicious food. I have an omelette and some hash browns in my refrigerator from a diner. Can't wait to dig in later. Yummy. Peace to you ❤️❤️

It seems like every time I click on a video you have 10k more subscribers. That makes me so happy for you. Keep killing it Adam I love your content.
Noah is a Chef
The guys met this guy when they ate at his restaurant. You should look for that video. It was great
IT IS A MUST when having either waffles or pancakes, to dip your sausage in the maple syrup!!!!!!
that's where everyone goes at 3 am
The pecan waffles are the bomb!
Nah, that's a Southerner's going out - outfit.
He's a tad drunk, yes... it's his BD - he's allowed ;)
Also International House of Pancakes, my fave burger joint is Steak & Shake, which does not follow the naming convention Ollie was doing.
Applebutter is one of my favorite fall foods❤ this just reminded me i have some in the fridge rn. I know what my late night snack will be😋
I'm rural northern Michigan and we all make apple butter. It's both rural and city cooking. yummy. Ty Johnnie Appleseed! lol
cheesesteak hashbrown bowl, smothered, covered, chucked n capped. go to every time
So theres, hockey, bass pro shops, waffle house, country folk, costco, walmart. And such all within about 25 min of where i live. Look at south florida near ft lauderdale/davie fl. I know youre doin orlando, were bout 3 hrs South. On the east coast.
And Hot wings have a "Wing stop".
They messed up not doing "scattered and smothered" hash browns (onion is added). Also comes covered (cheese), chunked (tomatoes) and a few others. Their plain hash browns are fine...but with the sauteed onion. *chef kiss
chunked is hickory ham, diced is tomatoes
@@mikemath9508 Thanks. I get S&S, and couldn't remember the other options.
Pizza has a hut 😂
Waffle House is amazing!!!! And there's always a juke box to listen to classic rock or country music!!!
You forgot "capped" (Mushrooms) And "peppered" ( jalapenos) "diced" (tomatoes) "country" (cream sausage gravy) "topped" (chili - as in the spicy tomato based stew with meat)
it's chunked though, chunks of hickory ham.
@@Jmullen561 our chili is very bland, no spice whatsoever.
@@mikemath9508that’s what hot sauce is for
I am in memphis. so many ways to mix and eat this food. You can mix the cheesy eggs with the grits.
They are currently in savannah georgia. waffle house originated in atlanta, georgia. there are waffle houses all over the south east and there is also one in orlando, Fl. when on your trip there definitely go for breakfast or late night haha whatever your preference, its great either way!
Waffle Houses are an Atlanta, Georgia gift to the South. They're in an Atlanta or Savannah Waffle House for this episode.
9:41 This was the Jolly crew's first or second visit to the deep south, and they were in Georgia, if I remember correctly.
Waffle House has 18 locations in the greater Orlando area.
They didnt yell the order. I love that part!
I think I like Waffle House but I’ve never eaten there sober so I might be wrong
And yes, there are several locations in Orlando so we expect to see you enjoying their food soon
Thirty years ago, when I was in high school Waffle House had an all you can eat option for like $14. Never-ending burgers, patty melts, tasty hashbrowns, whatever you wanted.
You can buy maple syrup pork breakfast sausage in the grocery store here in North Carolina.
they didn't eat the grits right & it's a shame nobody at the restaurant told them what to put in it -- for restaurant grits, you ALWAYS need a decent amount of salt, pepper, butter, & maybe some crumbled up patty sausage for texture if you've got it. that looks like sad mush & they barely touched it.
also, waffle house is a bit of a coin toss tbh. some of them you get the best breakfast you've ever had, others will give you food poisoning, & pretty much all of them have a small risk of witnessing a shootout or fight of some kind. it's just a universal law at this point.
Damn, I didn’t know Finn Balor had a RUclips channel. 😉
Lol. Subscribed.
When you come to Orlando you will be able to find one. Would be interesting to see you try it.
The person with Josh and Ollie is a celebrity chef
2 am drunk then home made breakfadt...yu
Hey Adam, when in Orlando take your girlfriend out drinking and tell the Uber driver to take you to the nearest Waffle House at 3:00 am. Problem solved.
Maple syrup on bacon and sausage? Heaven. Not a lot, but enough for flavor. Tastes like it's caramelized.
I’ve literally never been to Waffle House sober. Not once, not ever. 😂
I love waffles....one day I was on the submarine USS Florida SSBN-728, having been underwater about 60 days, at a depth of around 500 feet (152 m), and I decided to start eating waffles from the middle to the outside! It was wonderful. 🙂
But cleaning the waffle maker is a LOT of work, and it has to be done before and after each breakfast. My main job was sonar, but all junior enlisted have to spend time working in the mess deck (eating area) to humble us lol. I would scrub and wipe it until it looked spotless and the Culinary Specialist Senior Chief would still say, "nope, clean it again, nub".
(nub = "non-useful body", someone who is not Qualified in Submarines yet.)
lmao 😂🤣😂
Believe me, sausage with maple syrup is the bomb! Try it! It’s the sweet/ savory perfect flavor. Cheesey eggs are soooo good too.
They have these in Orlando so enjoy
This episode was recorded in Georgia.
Adam, I was waiting for this video from Jolly and Noah. I'll be happy when you come back to the US and eat some of our delicious food. I have an omelette and some hash browns in my refrigerator from a diner. Can't wait to dig in later. Yummy. Peace to you ❤️❤️
They're in Savannah, Georgia.
9:01 Maple and pork are fine friends, man. We even said, "Fuck it" and just started injecting the maple flavor INTO breakfast sausage.
Anyone experiencing a Waffle House for the first time needs to go with a guy like that.
