"Constable" originates from a latin word for "stablemaster" which in turn was just a common soldier guarding the horses, and this has just stuck since medieval times basically. In effect it's the same as a private ie. the lowest rank a soldier can have, after being done with training.
The first rank after training would technically be "Menig" which literally means private. Like in the British army, the Private rank is also known by different terms across the regiment like "Garder", "Husar", "Dragon" etc. But the point is you start conscription as a "Rekrut" and graduate to being a "Menig" after a few months of training. During the years of the conscription army (before conscription was just a recruiting tool), Privates would also be mobilised and fight in war. The Constable ranks were meant to be technical specialists, and of course for filling out the standing regular forces. However, since the modern practice has been to only use small fully professional forces operationally, the three Constable ranks have in practice just basically become privates, but the system was developed back when conscripts would still make up the majority of the army.
@19:35 The methodolgy of what they are doing is correct, it is just poorly executed.
Basically what they are trying to do is to create a "platoon assault". Each platoon consist of 3 groups with 6 to 8 soldiers (depending on the unit) and a command group. The platoon assault is basically where 2 squads acts as left and right flank and gives suppressive fire torwards the enemy, where the assaulting team runs through the middle and when they get close, they can do as Combat Ready HQ said, where they bound in and support eachother within the squad, since the suppressive fire might not be as effecient at that point.
But, we must remember that the assaulting teams group leader is hit at this point, so the new group leader is a new Constable with only 5 out of 8 months training due to Covid, so his experience is very limited, so therefore the group is bound to make mistakes, which is why we do exercises in the first place. I'm sure he learned from it and is even better now.
you going from a "student" salery to a full time salery ... from a conscript to a full time
professional soldier - what it basicly meen being a constable
In Denmark a constable is a soldier on contract, so after they have been appointed they can be deployed outside Denmark.
They never went to Kenya in the end, due to covid.. Really like your commentary, always minding that the soldiers are rather inexperienced in this series!
They do 3-4 months of conscription.
Then they voluntarily do the 8 months training to become a constable. I think it is the same as private 1st class. In Denmark that means they are on a contract for x amount of years, varies from person to person.
They might stay in the same regiment to continue training or get transfered on request. If I remember correctly. Hope it makes sense 😊
And constable goes from constable, constable 2 class and then third class which is the highest. 😊
It's described well below, but it's also the feeling of going from apprentice to becoming a professional.
Konstabel (Constable) is an active and professional Soldier as opposed to being a conscript ! You've chosen the Military as your place of work ! instead of just using a few months to learn the basics. Denmark has both a professional and a conscript based Military! The guys in this unit are going the professional way ! They only accept career Soldiers !
Konstabel is professionel soldier. They go from pupils to konstabel, so now soldier is their daily job.
Denmark is looking at going from 5.56mm to 6.8mm like USA.
a nato 6.8 mm ammunition have the same fire power as an ak-47. good choice.
What organisation in the US is adopting 6.8mm?
@@SimonRaahauge1973wrong , 6.8 is much more powerful, watch Sig Sauer videos
@@RomeoMike22 somebody, it seems. We are, anyway, I hope.
19:11 the movement they are conducting is a storm under fire support from the 2 adjacent groups in the platoon. Shoot move communicate
In the old days, Danish army, "Konstabel" was the title of an artillery driver. Today, a constable is a hired private (the constable probationary period is comparable to military service)❤👍🤟
Konstabel : Contract Private
A constable in the Danish Army is a professional soldier with a contract of two and a half years and upwards
Constables are the "private" group of the professional soldiers.
You got menig which equals private, that is the lowest rank in the Danish army, and that group is almost totally only enlisted personnel during basic training.
Konstable is someone who is private but employed on a contract, and comparable to Lance Corporal.
You then got the overkonstable which is comparable to Private first class
All of them are part of the private class but with different expertice and experience.
"Konstabel" (Constable) is the lowest rank of professional soldiers. NATO OR-1. However, within NATO Regi, Danish OR-1,2,3's are put into one group as OR-3s, "Lance Corporals". But that's purely in terms of "paygrade". Within the units, they all know who is who.
Love your content, stay awesome.

Love your commentary. Thx.
Constable is a professional soldier, you get paid full time for doing the job, where as wheb tiy are Conscripted, you get paid as a trainee it's 4 months for most, on the Royal Ship its 9 months, if you choose the Royal Guards its 8 months or Guard Hussar Regiment its 12 Months, if you after that decide to enlist, you will be a Constable trainee like these guys in the series and you will have to complete the training acceptable and then you will be given a contract and you become a constable, a full paid soldier in the Danish armed forces.
