Daniel accompanies his mentor, Mr. Miyagi, to Miyagi's childhood home in Okinawa. Miyagi visits his dying father and confronts his old rival, while Daniel falls in love and inadvertently makes a new rival of his own.

@Hector Lopez I agree. Plus, if Mr. Miyagi was still alive (they even had his character for Cobra Kai be dead), he probably would have told Daniel not to be involved with Cobra Kai anymore.

Plus, on "The Karate Kid 2" when Mr. Miyagi was heading to Okinawa, Daniel said that he wants to go too when Mr. Miyagi told him to save his money for college instead of a ticket to Okinawa being expensive where Daniel told him that he's more important to him than college especially telling him that when Daniel has a problem Mr. Miyagi is able to solve it. (Perhaps another reason why Daniel wanted to go with Mr. Miyagi to Okinawa was because he wanted to stay away out of trouble in case Johnny Lawrence and/or John Kreese come to fight him). Another way to show that Mr. Miyagi was an important part of Daniel's life was that Daniel refused to go to college when they returned from Okinawa and decided to use his money to help Mr. Miyagi get his dream job instead of using the money for college after Mr. Miyagi lost his maintenance job.
I hope they return to the tree somehow in a Cobra Kai scene
@@raoulhery That would definitely be great but, it would be unknown if they would recognize it with so many other trees around and nature grows other things around it and soon that tree would be grown very big not being able to recognize it. But we will see what happens in one of the episodes of season 6.

Yes because the gta verse, Daniel is the owner of his own set of car dealerships. Thanks to his friendship with Johnny Lawrence for teaching him Miyagi Do karate and finding balance in life. He owed Daniel and Johnny found happiness in karate and franchised in Eagle Fang 🦅 karate years ahead. So only Dutch started cobra Kai instead

And so did Johnny Lawrence. Had he, then he would’ve opened Eagle Fang karate and gotten Ali and married her. Maybe Robby could’ve been a son from a love affair caused by Johnnys mother’s death that affected his head. That he one night with Shannon and Robby was discovering who his real dad is. And Johnny would also invest in Daniel’s auto dealerships.

@@VelasquezContent Actually, that was Johnny Lawrence who made it happen by bringing Cobra Kai back with him starting the business himself and even John Kreese said to him, "I was letting it go about Cobra Kai and you brought it back" with Johnny allowing him to be a sensei there soon and soon Kreese wanted help from Terry Silver where Kreese traveled to the island where Silver was living and he asked Silver if he would like to be a sensei of Cobra Kai again with Silver saying "nope, I'm doing very well here" but, the only reason he decided to get back into Cobra Kai was because, he used to have a Cobra Kai tattoo on him and that persuaded him to rejoin. Not only that but, when Silver said he was going to open Cobra Kai's all over, he assumed that Mike Barnes was going to win which would have persuaded everyone to rejoin.

This is where I get my love for Bonsai trees.
What could’ve helped this movie is if it’s set as the second karate kid movie. The beginning could’ve added foreshadowing. To continue the miyagi cobra Kai rivalry to the second part of the saga itself. Maybe having Johnny join Miyagi do to find balance in his life. To find good relations with Daniel. And maybe miyagi focusing on a Johnny would twist Daniel into Cobra Kai and then screwing his moves into his own weakness. Johnny would later help him as he discovers Kreese was with silver and decides to help Daniel as alongside Miyagi sensei.
That music get you ever time.
The one thing that is weird is that even when you watch Mike Barnes' training montage, it's still playing the Miyagi music.
One of my favourite moments of this franchise. This bonsai has strong root, the same you, this tree now choose how it grows, so must you choose how you grow 🌱🥰

@@gavcarl Agreed. Miyagi is a creation of several artists including John Avildsen and Pat Morita who aren't with us anymore. I'm not that interested in some other creator's take on the character's past. It might feel like soulless corporate cash grab like some of the sequels and prequels Disney's been recently churning out.
Battle of the Bulge?
442nd was on the "Champagne campaign" when the Battle of the Bulge took place. They did not rejoin the efforts until March 1945, where they were used for what was intended to be a diversionary attack on the gothic line(they ended up breaking the gothic line, when they turned it into an all out offensive). However, it is likely he screamed banzai, during the only banzai charge from US forces, during the rescue of the lost battalion in the Vosges forest of France, in October of '44.

The fight was beautiful, Pat Morita/Miyagi made 0 unnecissary moves. Using his opponents inertia in aikido style, Simplicity is so underrated.
Though he almost started breakdancing in the first second on the fight with Kreese.
He s a defensive karate guy that what defense is about letting your opponent attack and finding an opening
Pat Morita was also old, and couldn't make dangerous moves, so the fights had that in mind when planning the fight scenes, which also make a lot of sense for the charecter's way...

Crazy that all 3 of them are dressed up to train or something at 12:00 or whatever in the morning. Silver was just with Daniel at a club not long before this.
Silver was brutal in this movie but Daniel was a dimwit who fell for silvers cunning tricks and even started training with him.

Mr miyagi is so gangster throwsime barnes ass through the door and beats up two sensais twice his size and barley broke a sweat.
When Miyagi beats him here, I really didn’t feel bad for him… When Daniel defeats him 35 years later, I feel terrible for him. I mean… Silver did kinda deserve it, but he’s an old man going through ptsd, who pretty much redeemed himself over the 35 years. So it’s kinda sad seeing him lay there in defeat while shirts are being thrown at him.
Just bc he got ptsd and stuff dosen’t justify him almost killing a guy and ruining someone’s business
Mr. Miyagi had PTSD from war too, and he lost way more than Kreese and Silver ever did. You don’t see him abusing kids who come to him for guidance or holding lifelong grudges over karate tournaments that he lost, fair and square
@@rockerfish223 people with ptsd don’t all act the same… some symptoms are milder than others. Miyagi looks like he drank and he also had lots of meditation to calm himself down. Neither Silver or Kreese had that. Silver had the money to self medicate with cocaine…. While Kreese(in his mind) never left Vietnam… he decided to train kids the way he was trained and that’s how he dealt with his PTSD.
@@robanah I’m not talking about the way he taught his students at Cobra Kai, I even agree with some of his training techniques, but you can teach people to become champion fighters without teaching them to become bullies, or training kids to fight your wars. But that’s not the point here.
Kreese claimed to care for Johnny like his own son, yet he tried to murder Johnny, his own seventeen-year-old prize student, in a parking lot for placing 2nd at the All-Valley. As for Silver, he trained Daniel with a technique specifically designed to injure him and isolate him from the people he loved, that’s called “grooming a minor”, and it’s really gross. Now both men have PTSD from war, but the things I’ve just described are not them “dealing” with it so much as taking it out on others.
They hurt people, and Silver got help and moved on with his life, at least for a time. Kreese could’ve easily done the work to help himself alongside Silver, even if he was broke, Silver would’ve paid for it, and he definitely had plenty of rock bottom moments such as losing Cobra Kai twice, breaking his favorite student, and being denied re-enlistment because of psychological issues. The institution that turned John Kreese into such a monster, and rewarded him for it, told him to his face that he was mentally unfit to do what they trained him to do. If that wasn’t a sign for Kreese that he needed to work on himself, then there’s either some worse rock bottom moment in his future than anything else in his past, which I doubt, leaving one conclusion left. This conclusion also explains why Terry Silver was so quick to return to his old self; Kreese and Silver enjoy being what they became in the war. And PTSD is no excuse for intentionally and joyfully hurting children.
Now, I’m not so biased against Kreese and Silver that I forgive and forget Chozen trying to murder Kumiko because she chose Daniel over him. He may have done the work to truly change and become Miyagi 2.0, and I admire him for that, but he will never be able to make that right. Kumiko is a very forgiving person, and she could maybe even love Chozen back, who the fuck knows, but with that kind of page in their history, starting something up can’t lead to anything good. It’s the same reason Sam and Miguel are always on and off, Miguel drunkenly hit Sam, and Sam was a pretty shitty girlfriend to Miguel even before Robby came into the picture.
@@rockerfish223 Actually kress, Silver, Daniel and Miyagi all of them have PTSD. Kress's mother kill herself, he lost one of his war friend killed right in front of him during Vietnam war and his girlfriend Betsy died too. Silver also lost his war friend and killed right in front of him and also he is blaming himself for that and he is still remembeing that. Miyagi lost his wife and his unborn child during world war 2 and also his father died right in front of him. And Daniel due to what Silver and Kress did to him.
If you compare the paint pattern on Silver at 4:00, it doesn't match with the pattern at 4:11. Continuity error.

To think that in 35 years...
-Terry Silver will have his dream of opening Cobra Kai dojos all over the valley (including buying out other dojos & converting them into Cobra Kai) become a reality & recruit friends from Korea to help run them.
-Mike Barnes will apologize to Daniel for all the crap he pulled in this movie & hate Terry Silver, especially after Silver (most likely his hired goons) burn down Mike's furniture store that he ran alongside his wife (who we don't see) which drives Mike to wanna kick his ass following a temporary grudge against Daniel.
-Mike Barnes will not only have a reunion with Daniel, but also get to meet both Johnny Lawrence & Chozen Toguchi, both of whom also tormented Daniel in the past, but also fight Mike upon meeting until the hatchet is buried & the 3 form an alliance.
-Terry Silver would've not only betrayed John Kreese, but also get him arrested.
-We learn that Daniel's wife Amanda is cousins with Jessica Andrews (biggest surprise in my book).
-Johnny meets Chozen, who Daniel recruits to help him take down Terry Silver & Cobra Kai.
-Daniel will fight not only John Kreese at 1 point, but Terry Silver later on (twice).
