This was breathtaking. How do you even begin to learn this?
The 58k subscribers you've gotten from this one video alone are so, so deserved.
I starting crying watching you prune your Bonsai…it was extraordinary; just a beautiful thing to behold…amazing.
I’ve loved Bonsai for years and have never seen anyone create what you’ve done here.
I wish I could do something like that.
Get some scissors, some electrical wire and steal a conifer from your neighbors garden. Try it.
Never knew that extremely elaborate videos about restoring bonsai trees was all I ever needed!
Then the kid went "Can you hold my hand?" and it just brought the whole video home. Very well done!
My exact thought at that part.. such a good wholesome video.
paid actor
Made me want to cry and also made me want children after never feeling that way in 27 years lol
@@DevinJuularValentine Me too, seeing things like that make me want to experience it as well.
Why does watching skilled craftsmen feel like you are accomplishing something? I literally sat in bed doing nothing and now feel accomplished like I have made a beautiful little tree myself.
That is because of the dopamine your brain releases

@@RozyPoyo dopamine, actually.

This is the best format video I've seen on the subject. The close up detail work, inserted drawings and explanations, the in place comparative changes, it's all incredible and helpful to understanding the concepts. Thank you for this!
I thought "Neglected? This looks cool man". Then I saw the final result. Holy jesus.
They’re supposed to be pretty fragile and need to be trimmed and pampered.
Apparently this one was nearly dead because it didn’t get proper care.
It was still green, how can it be nearly dead ?
man, bending that branch to a more healthy and optimal position must've been the most stressful part of this restoration. You did all you could to prepare it, but there's no guarantee it just won't snap in your hands. I salute you. what a job.
Wow, looking at the tree in the very beginning; I would have never guessed there was so much work to be done. Awesome transformation, makes me want to own a bonsai.
What a beautiful video and a wonderful result. Please keep on making these videos.
This is an absolute masterclass. From the editing to the music. You can tell this is actual passion project.
I love how Moss looks with some things it’s like a micro grass
Every time he did something else to the tree I thought, "well that's gonna kill it". Every time. Talk about a man with extreme patience and a vision. What a relaxing video, now that I know he's not going to kill it.
Even if he did kill it, his skill is so immense that we would never know
This was relatively tame in terms of what you could do in the world of bonsai...
At the beginning it looked fine to me
Oh, but little did I realize the true potential of this plant
Me the whole time: What the actual is he doing to this poor tree
Me at the end: Damn look at how amazing he made that little tree look!!
mixture of both
still, feeling sad for the tree
@@pitou6084 why, he helped him. without that the smoll tree would have died. there already was dead wood on him.
the amount of times I've seen this comment is immeasurable
@@pitou6084 why are you sad for a tree 💀
There level of production on this is insane.
He made that physical organism look EXACTLY like the drawing. That’s what you call VISION 😍
Forget about the tree let’s talk about your drawing skills!
this is by far one of the best videos on youtube. well made, edited, so much passion, skill. I was interested the entire time and the addition of him and his kid was beautiful and made me smile so much. thank you for the video
Me the entire time: "Noooo! You are ruining the tree!" After: "Oh yeah, that does look good."
I think he ruined it.
Yup ruined it
@@bobicrni1284 not really
@@bobicrni1284 Agreed. Should’ve stuck with just making sure it was healthy and decorating. All the excess trimming and stupid shaping stuff ruined the trees natural look and just made it a unnatural art piece. I guess it’s a bonsai hobby thing.
my exact reaction - though i cant seem to stop thinking that the tree spent 35 years growing in that shape for some guy to think he can do better in some months, although he has been studying this for years as well and is a professional , i do love the videography though
“Can you hold my hand?”
SOOOO CUUUTE! She alone was worth the watch. Adorable
Me after seeing how complicated the maintenance is: * proceeds to stop considering having a bonsai and stick with the cactus *
I’m liking the idea of a wire bonsai tree or a fake one lol
Lmao true
Don't scare yourself, if you want a hobby and have time and dedication you can get one. Still succulent plants need care too, not in this sense though but in its own way too.
@@wikesstrig7078 it would be much less though. Overall yeah taking care or making a bonsai tree is a good hobby.
@@amided3816 I saw cactus once that was soggy. I don't know how but lt was soggy and it just fell over when I didn't even touch it. It wasn't mine. Not just cacti but I like aloe too.

Yes. 3:39 honestly I liked how it looked before the cutting. Nothing was wrong with it.
One of my favorite bonsai videos, so informative BUT NOT SLOW at all. And definitely not boring. Love the incorporation of the drawing, the subtle time lapse. Video editing is super. You made everything look easy. Wonderful talent. Bravo.
Thanks Jarrett!
@@BonsaiReleaf Hi love your vids, have always wanted to own and take care of a bonsai but never had the courage to do it, I was worried on if I would do it right or not
@@CrypticSkies0 do it bro, u only got one life. If u want a bonsai get urself a damn bonsai gosh darnit
Oh my. A wonderful fluid story. Thank you.
Ima be honest. I just came here cause this was in my recommendations. Not disappointed .
Me: I'm not interested in Bonsai, why is this on my feed?
-*Bends branch to look better*
Me:Uhmm....interesting....
This bonsai is feeling what we all been feeling during the lockdown without hair salons.
I'm imagining a barber doing the same things and it's kinda horrifying. Cutting and breaking of limbs, pulling off skin, breaking and bending limbs into aesthetically pleasing shapes, smearing chemicals onto exposed flesh, burning you etc.
XD
The most wholesome part is you and the kid collecting moss
I can tell this video took a lot of effort and hard work and I applaud you for that, this is definitely one of the higher quality bonsai videos on RUclips now I hope to see more work from you soon!
If this guy keeps uploading, then in 2 years he needs to make an update where he takes off the wires
"2 YEAR REVEAL!!! YOU WONT BELIEVE THE TRANSFORMATION!!!!!" *Thumbnail of him with shocked face and wired tree*
actually no difference once wires are off.
i find it amazing that it takes two years for the branches to settle i was thinking more like a month or two
@@cpmatthews this dude doesn't seem the type to do that...
@@zixorus748 I know. Seems like a chilled, lovely guy with a beautiful relationship with his daughter.
