    That Leyland Olympian in the beginning lasted longer than these just goes to show that older buses are better🙂

      That wasn’t a Layland Olympian it was a Bristol bus

    Knowing the daf, it will overheat and brake down on the tow truck. At least it looks at home when it is being towed. An arrival dw on a tow truck...where have I seen this before xD

    Nice busses to drive, but with the milage on them and the nick they were in (ours at least) it's not a surprise

    Sad seeing our old buses going to scrap

    I loved these buses, such a shame to see them scrapped. How many are being scrapped?

      Yes I liked them too! This one failed with its gearbox. Rhyl depot are getting 20 new Sapphire Enviro 400's so are having to clear out old stock. I am making a compilation of the DLA's in North Wales since their arrival a few years ago, so that will be one to watch!

    In London post 1970 the bus we should have had was the FRM, A bus far better than the curent front entrant rear engined junk that has lurdhed its way round London for the last 50 years.

    @benolifts 10 лет назад +3

    That bus didn't last long.
    They brought a whole load of those to Medway 2 years ago. They keep braking down.

    Why cant they leave our ALX400's alone?

    • @theoriginalgamerhd6477
      @theoriginalgamerhd6477 8 лет назад +2

      They keep withdrawing them,scrapping them selling them to garbage southern Essex company's such as the infamous trustybus ,and converting them into trainers can't they use a rusty LJ08 enviro 400 from palmers green(AD) instead they're not in use anymore they're just left there to rot

      I agree:) The ALX 400's are the best buses in the world. Who ever made them is a genius :) Especially the tridents (Voith and ZF).

    I’ve never been into these buses as I’m a Merseyside PTE Walter Alexander Leyland Atlantean enthusiast but I can’t understand why this bus comes up as SORN, even though it was taken away to be scrapped

  • @NorthEastbuses01
    @NorthEastbuses01 10 лет назад +3

    Very nice catch :) How on earth did you manage to get inside of the depot, did you just ask? I'm very surprised that the bus left the fleet in the condition it did, i.e it was still recognisable as a bus, apart from the missing windows and wheels it looked ready for the road, up here Arriva have a tendency to scavenge parts from buses (especially the old prestiges at the moment), so their ends up being very little left of the bus by the time its taken away for scrap

      Thanks, the view you see is actually from a public street through a fence.

    ah what a smile to my face this brings seeing a crappy DAF alx400 being towed away for scrap ahhhhh I hate DAF and this is just shear enjoyment watching this

      *whispers* same. Their steering wheels r so ugly. DAF make great trucks, just buses aren't their thing...

      I'd rather work on a DB250 than a Wright Streetlite. They are a very common sight being hooked up on the back of a wrecker. You only have to fart in the cab of a Streetlite and all the warning lights go off.

    What a rubbish company. Good buses being thrown to waste, the new Sapphires are just too slow.

    • @NorthEastbuses01
      @NorthEastbuses01 9 лет назад +4

      Pretty much anything is faster than a DAF DB250 though haha, they're definitely more noted for their comfort rather than their outright performance

    • @RonnDon
      @RonnDon 9 лет назад +3

      Except for all those new horrid pieces of rubbish everyone calls the "Enviro 400", anything can be faster then it.
