    I’ve waited so long to get my White fusion, I just got it today and I was very excited and satisfied and I thought now my calathea collection is perfect until I saw your white tiger and louisae 😂....... now I have to keep looking for those. It never ends.

    Ohh, what an excellent comparison. I love seeing these differences. I have now determined that the calethea I had bought as a 'white fusion' was mislabeled! Louise variegata? Looks most like it, the marbling is amazing!

    Fell in love with the White Fusion when I walked by it in the Garden Store. Hope I can take it home some day, it is rather pricey.

    Good day to you fellow calathea lover ♡ Thanks for the video. I am a truth teller and I can hear that you are happier during this video, as compared to your other. I hope you are continuing to feel better and don't let narcs ruin you!

    OK: C fusion, A louisae, B white tiger. Total guess and even after watching I'm still not sure if I got it right, lol! They are all stunning, but something about the fusion really speaks to me. Maybe because the variegation is more subtle and it's compact. Enjoyed seeing all three! xo Cheryl

      I think you got it! 😊 I wonder if they will still look similar as they continue to mature. I feel like some of my calatheas look really different now--kind of interesting to bring home one plant and watch it change into something slightly different over the years.

      I just stuck my white fusion on the sad shelf yesterday. For me it’s a solo spot on my book shelf. It’s more like the shelf of shame. She’s unsightly at the moment, but seems to be bouncing back.. slowly.

      Lipstick & Lit. Lol glad we can relate 🙂 mine is storage space for plant supplies and where we keep our recycling. I keep my pilea peperomoides babies that I need to give away still and succulents that don’t bring me joy as much as my tropical plants.

    I agree with what you've said about light, definitely those 3 are more light loving. But then I was hoping to get some answers but I still struggle to id mine. It was sold as fusion white but honestly I'm not sure anymore. 🤔

    I bought a Calathea marked Fusion White almost a year ago. It has gotten quite tall, upwards of 20" or more. The leaves are quite large and the backs have plenty of purple. The newest leaves are eight inches long. The amount of green varies tremendously. The stem growth pattern looks far more like a White Tiger! Wow! Not sure if I should feel cheated or not. I love the plant but it's not what I thought.

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  4 года назад +5

      One thing to keep in mind with calathea is that there is a ton of variation in form within the same species (for instance, my two fusion whites have some things in common but not others including one being naturally larger). Growing conditions can greatly impact the plant and how it ends up looking. Because they are newer to the market, I also don't know how much is documented/known about what they look like at maturity--some of things that are common in younger/juvenile plants may change as the plant matures. The patent has some really interesting information, including comparisons with other calatheas: patents.google.com/patent/USPP26187P2/en. Edited to add: If you did get a White Tiger or even the Louisae Variegata--you got what is currently a rather rare calathea!

    • @laurachapin204
      @laurachapin204 4 года назад +2

      Addy Beez, good information there. Still uncertain as to what I have. I would not call my plant compact in growth. It was quite compact and rounded when in a 4" pot. It's was up potted into a 5" ceramic after about 3 months of growth in its nursery pot. Now, five months later, it is becoming quite root bound and towers over the pot. It is decidedly upright in habit. The stems emerge somewhat in a fan pattern but not completely. They are green to purple. It's a lovely plant and thriving for me under grow lights, a western exposure and plentiful filtered water.

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  4 года назад +3

      Oh, that is interesting--especially as the fan pattern growth seems to match the patent's description of growth. The patent does state that it is both compact and less upright than other calatheas (Freddie as a comparison). Mine has stayed approximately the same size; it can look quite large when there is nothing for scale in the frame. Beside my Louisae Variegata, you can see just how compact it is, though. Yours sounds like a healthy, happy plant. I bet it's gorgeous.

    I recently bought a 'fusion white' but looking at this video i suspect it might be a Louisae? idk but is also very white and marbled, which ever ut is its so pretty! I hope I can be one of the lucky few who can keep this plant alive!

    I like the Fusion White because of the beautiful contrast between white and green leaves. It would keep me guessing which color the next leaf would be. Now is the Fusion White not the same as the White Fusion?

    • @AddyBeez

      I got both of mine from sellers on Etsy. The White Tiger was from the Legends of Monstera shop and the Louisae Variegata was from the Plant Life Guru Shop. I haven't seen any listed this last week but I tend to do quick sweeps through Etsy to see who has what any given week. Hope this helps! 😊

    I'm in u.k. and I stopped in my tracks when I came across this "fusion white with purple undersides plant in a garden centre. I let this one dry out a bit too much as I hate losing them thru rot. Leaves have wrinkled a bit so I've watered it thru and I'm going to place it in my clear plastic storage box which I find has worked in the past to uncurl leaves. So I will leave it in there for 1-2 weeks. P.s. I think it's either flowering or new leaves emerging? Not sure only time will tell.

    Where did you get your Calathea Louisae Variegata? It is gorgeous! I just bought a madalion that looks like it could actually be what you described as a V2. My top larger leaves look just like a madalion but the bottom smaller leaves have a really nice deep pink to them like a Dottie.

    What can you say about the rarity of these plants? I recently got a "white fusion" but was confused by the massive leaves. So I think it must be one of the other two, which I've never even heard of. How likely are they too be mislabeled?

      Buy a humidifier and don’t use tap water! The chemical burn the plant. Also they don’t need to be fertilized very often. Over fertilization can lead to crispy tips too (:

    My Calathea Medallion is having a bloom. Should I cut it off? And why ? Thank you

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  4 года назад +5

      Oh, gosh. So, a couple of videos ago I said that I wouldn't let my Dottie bloom again because it seemed to slow down foliage growth. However, my medallion, argentea and margarita are all starting to bloom and I can't bring myself to cut them away. So--from what I have read, flowering can slow foliage growth. Other than that, I'm not sure because I haven't been able to cut off any of my calatheas' blooms yet to test if that is true. And that was a lot of words just to say--I'm not sure.

    I am from Hong Kong. I cannot see any Fusion White in my area. It seems people is all selling White Tiger and Louisae Variegata and they think it is Fusion White... From your video, the stem of Fusion White is in emerald green? Where did you get this stuff?

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  2 года назад

      I bought them from a number of different sellers; the Louisae Variegata is particularly hard to find sold by that name here though I see a lot of plants marked as a Fusion White who are probably actually the former. I try to use the patents/scientific descriptions to tell them apart but it is so difficult.
