Had one fitted just over 4 years ago on a 5 series the day after i bought the vehicle. I then had to take it to a BMW garage, i didnt tell them it was fitted, they ended up fitting a new battery and reset the system, after 3 hours they called me saying there was a problem, i went down told them and inputted the code and it worked straight away, they had no idea it was installed!! Since then i know someone has managed to open the car as all the stuff in the glove box etc was thrown everywhere!! Will be getting a new car next year and i will be getting another Ghostwatch for sure!!
I've had Ghost for over 2 years, very happy with it, would definitely recommend it. It was installed by an auto watch approved installer and it took approx 2.5 hrs
I had one fitted to my Audi Mk3 TTS after I bought 2 years ago..directly from Ghost themselves. For me it’s peace of mind as the car sits on my driveway & not in my garage.. I still have a Disklok if for example I’m away on weekend breaks etc, as for me it’s a small deterrent plus there’s a Ghost label stuck to the inside of my drivers door glass, for any would be thief to see.. Up to now I’ve not had a problem with anyone trying to get in, in fact there’s been a spate of keyless car thefts lately in my area. I’d thoroughly recommend in having one fitted. I did have a slight problem with it, when we had the very hot summer that we had as it wouldn’t disarm, but I just reset the system again & it’s not happened since..
I wanted to get a ghost but after speaking to a few people I’ve been told it’s easy to bypass and waste of money, weather the difference is £50 or not as you said nothing is 100%. I’ve been looking into the Meta tracker S5 deadlock which seems abit more secure but also I know these thieves have something called a “wand” which can locate these trackers and get it to beep to locate it.
If it’s fitted properly then I can assure you it’s an amazing product. A tracker is a completely different system and if you listen to the pub stories going round then they’ll all tell you how easy a tracker is to find or block.
Love the videos Raf, highly informative, well executed & explained without any negativity, keep up the positive flow brother & keep on striving forward with your company going from strength to strength, peace🙏🏾
Great video. I remember back in the day when I used to install alarms (before the CANBUS days), I took pride in my installs and would take the time to disassemble as much as necessary to conceal the alarm "brain". I would also solder a lot of the connections and use split loom tubing and black electrical tape to also conceal the colorful alarm wires that stood out from factory wiring. I typically spent 3-4 hours on an install and always wondered how these other shops did it in an hour. Well after seeing how sloppy other places did and just slapped it in there and zip tied the brain to wires under the steering column, I showed some of these people how in under 10 seconds I could pull the harness out from the alarm and easily have access to the ignition and starter wires and +12v all at the alarm harness! So point being, take your car to a place that takes their time and takes pride in their work even if you have to pay a few more $$..
100% brother. These modern installers don’t know anything other than simple canbus installs. Give them a full on analogue system where u need to wire locking, immobiliser cuts, doors, boot bonnet and lights and they’re running a mile.
Hi Raf I have a Ghost 2 fitted in my car but , it took the guy 35 mins. Could i bring my car to your business and get my cars Ghost 2 checked out ? Refitted if necessary ?
Can Phantom is also a can bus immobiliser which we do not offer so can’t really comment. Not sure on compatibility of Can Phantom as it’s a fairly new product but the Ghost is the original and has huge compatibility and excellent after sales support due to huge dealer network. Also Ghost offers a money back guarantee.
@@motorguard thanks for the response. I have been leaning towards Ghost for that reason. But I've tried contacting Autowatch a few times via their website around the product and for recommendations for reputable approved installers in my area. I haven't received a response yet. So, in the back of my mind, if they aren't great at communicating with someone who is interested in purchasing their product, how good would that communication be if you have a problem with it.

Excellent video Raf, I remember you mentioned this video was in the pipeline a short while ago while we where chatting. A companies long standing reputation & good customer reviews is why I picked Motorguard to upgrade the security on my Toyota.
You can visit the Autowatch website but it's a little dated so best to call them and ask for approved installers In your area. However an Approved installer isn't always a good installer so just do some homework and check reviews etc.
very informative video. 1 question is, is the 14 that was mentioned from ghost 2 only or is it combined 1+2, if combined, what is the breakdown of how many for 1 +2 . thanks
@@motorguard in the video above, at around the 11m mark, you mention that autowatch has paid out 14 times for the money back guarantee. there are 2 versions of ghost ( the original ghost 1 and ghost 2 ) my question was - the 14 claims, have u got a figure of how many of the 14 are ghost 1 claims and how many are ghost 2 claims ?
From my research and from speaking to the powers that be that is the total claims paid out. They haven’t offered the money back guarantee since day one so I’d say only Ghost 2s.
If I find an approved fitter for this, is it best to check them out using the autowatch number listed. Also, what kind of price is a uninstall/install pls. Many thanks for your help 😊😊🏎🏎
The authorised dealer is abit of a faff really as anyone who is allowed to sell is technically approved but that doesn’t make them a decent installer. I’d google the company and see reviews too. Maybe drop them a call and in conversation ask how long will it take. Most will try to impress you and say an hour or 45 mins. If this is the case run real fast.
I was told categorically that just ‘ripping the ghost out’ will not allow you to start the car. Obviously I may have been lied to but that seems to be the perceived wisdom that just removing the device, even if found, will not defeat the immobilisation. Perhaps that is now out of date advice? If not, it nullifies the whole argument of these devices being fastidiously fitted out of sight which seems to be the premise of this video.
Amazing Vid brother. I'll add....Ghost 2 may not be perfect but its another barrier 🚧 And a real good one. Does Not mean you get rid of: -Steering Lock -Faraday Box (Next to your bed, not front Door) -Hide Vin in Screen -Park in Garage -Block Garage by 1981 Honda Junk -Camera Around House -Lights On Sunset-Sunrise -Beware of Dog Sign Sorry Guys if i sound paranoid. But in my country a car is stolen every 6 mins 👿
Just because they're specialized in 1-2 products you should walk away? Informative however, i took a lot of this with a grain of salt because your video sounds like an ad to get ppl to come to your shop.. also, there's more comprehensive and intuitive systems out there aside from Ghost. Ghost is out of date with their technology.
100% if a fitter only fits can bus immobilisers you shokld run not walk. I could talk my Mrs through how to install a Canbus immobiliser and if a so called security specialists only sells canbus immobilisers then he is not a Vehicle security specialist no matter how hard he tries to convince you he is
That’s exactly why a proper install is very important. A 30-45 minute install is virtually impossible to properly bury the system. I’ve seen them installed where you remove a panel and it falls out.
That's wild.. when he was talking about refunded & needing to go to a legit installer & how vehicles need to get registered and all that i was thinking like damn they really stand behind this shit... I thought he was gonna say they'll pay you how much your car was worth not refund the 450 pounds lol .. okay it didn't work our bad here's your money back 😂😂 like what?
When you go to someone to save £50 off retail and pay £450 chances are that’s what will happen. But when you pay proper installers to do it properly the car will stay put.
Ask your Insurance company I guess? I would say most trackers we install are asked for by insurance companies as there is a highly likely chance of recovery after theft. And there is a large number of cars which are taken without starting so towed away or dragged away.
Rubbish, I had my Range Rover stolen and i had a Ghost fitted. The thief opened the bonnet then went under the fuse box and activated the factory start, only posting this so other people know it to can be overcome, in saying that it took them half an hour, so im not saying not to get the Ghost but you should also add another layer of protection i myself had another one put in but also had a tracking system installed
This is why choosing a good experienced installer is key. We get cars in with poorly fitted ghosts which we can have off in less than 5 mins so if your system withstood a 30 mins attack I’d say that’s pretty good. Most thief’s wouldn’t stand around for 30 minutes.
What a great, informative video. Thank you so much!
