    1st part chaos of being an addict, 2nd part getting a fix, 3rd part coming down and the chaos of needing more!

    The album is about the master of puppets in everyway they could portrait listen to the whole album. This song is about drug control it starts from the drugs point of view then the euphoric feeling of the drugs, then the person coming down then the master again. Then it ends in laughter

    The album cover is most closely aligned with the song “Disposable Heroes”.

      If you're assuming that drugs and addiction don't create as much death as war you're sadly mistaken. The only difference is that the addicts cemetery isn't as well known or remembered.

    The military helmet and the dog tags are related to another song, disposable heroes. You should react to that one next.

    This ENTIRE album (and the previous album, Ride the Lightning) is OUSTANDING.
    What VERY few ppl notice... is that every song* is about a master of some kind of puppet.
    * Orion, being an instrumental doesn't directly relate to a master and their Puppets.

    You don't bop your head, you head bang until you pull a neck muscle, then remember you're almost 40 and should stop doing that. Or maybe the last parts just me.

    First time watching you. Good video I was surprised you didn't stop the song pretty much everyone I've seen stops it.. I do like your breakdown of the song you pretty much nailed the meaning of the song. Pretty much every member of the band had issues with drugs and alcohol at some point as you eluded to everything from alcohol, weed, acid, heroin, coke, so most likely it was written based on there experience's But this album marked a big refinement in there music and really help boost them into the mainstream. Although it really wasn't until the black album that they became mainstream at which time many of there hard core fans felt they sold out. But in reality it was just the band evolving into what they wanted to do. when you listen to there early albums then each newer album you can hear this transformation.

    Cocaine..
    The entireMaster of Puppets album is absolutely brilliant!

    Needle work away, never you betray. That and the line chop your breakfast on a mirror.
    The first part of the song is the drug speaking to the addict. You pretty much got the solos right. The euphoria of the high with the calm melodic guitar. Then the heavier guitar when coming down. Then the addict pleading to the drug. And then back to the drug taunting the addict.

  • @kennethbartlett4302
    @kennethbartlett4302 2 месяца назад +2

    I always seen it as the beginning is like the temptation the choice to travel that path. Then the middle section is as you said...getting high and mellow. The final heavier section the trap has been sprung and the hook is in deep with little chance of gaining your freedom again. Nice reaction. Metallica's first four albums are absolute gold, fire and brilliant.

    @timometsanoja9666 Месяц назад

    The first part is from the addicts point of view and yes, that mellow part in the middle is the high. The last part switched though to the point of view of the actual drug... It is a song about addiction. Drugs to be more precise, but it is about addiction in general. No matter what that drug might be... It is one hell of a song.

    It's about addiction, that sums it up. Telling the listener that drugs like coke ("Chop your breakfast on a mirror") WILL take over your life...iddiction WILL lie to you, WILL control you - "MORE is all you need". Keep in mind, the band is heavily using when they wrote this - it's a true "from the heart" sound =- the drug is the Master, the addict is the puppet. That's it - drugs.

    I did plenty of coke but heroin was my jam. Sober since Feb 9, 2017. The entire album is about control. Except for Orion and Damage Inc. The veteran part in the cover is from the song “Disposable Heroes”.

    Yes, you can look at the first solo as, first getting high, and then coming down, and the second solo as the frantic search for the next fix.
    The whole Master of Puppets album is fantastic (ok, I'm not that big on the instrumental track, Orion)
    Personal favorite, Weclome home (Sanitarium)...
