I enjoy all the builds (and pizza) but if I had to pick a vehicle I'd actually want to own from the Stay Tuned fleet, it'd be PowerKraut. No contest. A modern European sports car, with an angry oldschool 'murican V8. Best of both worlds. Yes please.
This is one of my favorite builds on YT. So simple, not chasing/making crazy hp numbers, out does a newer higher end factory version in more ways than one. We need more of this one and the Mark8 please

Wish you would have ran the GT3 to see what time you got to see how close they really were. Awesome build sir. As someone who used to install stereos back in the late 80's and early 90's I 100% support your message about using the proper harness and wiring them correctly. It used to kill me people wouldn't spend the $10 to $20 and would cut the factory harness. We were always more than happy to charge them the extra hour of labor plus both harnesses to fix it in order for us to do the install and guarantee it. Lol
@MrBillsfishin Same thought here. The only thing missing was Tony driving Blake's car in the driving course. With his advanced skills it's really the only true test to see which car is better. Wish he would have realized that at the time.

machine shop during world war 2. Think they made gun barrels, hence the overhead gantry. Tony did a brief tour awhile ago. This shop must have been out in the sticks in the 1940's. The house next door seems to have the same architecture too. Tony, correct me if I am wrong.

I kinda like the early water cooled 911's. They grew on me after 20 years. I've seen some cool K swapped turbo 911's from this era that absolutely rip.
This is so cool for a couple reasons. 1 is that Hoovie had a porsche like this with a v8 and it was also HIS favorite car. Seems to be a great combo. The second reason is Jay Lenno on his garage channel has many videos where he talks about the old days of combining European body and suspension with American power since both were better at that part respectively. It's cool to see that 50 years later after those cars Lenno was talking about, the same rule still works. I would love to see it with a turbo or supercharger or maybe aluminum block.

Put a 434" SBC in my 928 years ago (Renegade Hybrids kit). Going from 300hp to over 600hp was a game changer, actually lost 150 pounds from the front as well. Called it Frakenporsche. Turned heads when folks heard the cam'd up engine.
FYI, I had a 2000 C2 and drag raced it at Carlsbad Raceway which was an unprepped drag strip. I ran 13.6 and 0-60 in 5 seconds was pretty good for a C2. So you smashed that. The 2000 996 Turbo could do 0-60 in 4 flat and 12.4 in the quarter so you’re in that range.
Appreciate the lead on the Hang Tight crew, I’ve been running a Volvo pump on my Neon ACR for years, but just on straight 12v, no load control. Now that I know voltage control is an option, I’m happy as hell to have someone selling a bolt in solution for my setup!
Really appreciate calling out that you have much more road course experience, during the autox portion. It matters! So do tires, wasn't sure what the GT3 was on but 615ks are sticky sticky. love the build and the channel.

Hey Tony, That was awesome to watch!!!! I have dreams of a V8 in my anemic TR7 in the future. This build shows it can be done on a (sort of) budget. The TR7 was meant to be a true sports car that was left in the wind by quality control, emission regs, and a real lack of vision. I want to make my car what it could have been. Now, off to find a wallet friendly V8. Thanks for putting out another great episode.
I keep hearing good things from these electric over hydraulic pumps for P.S. and to me it only makes sense. Wait till there is one from the boneyard one can swap for a matter of hundreds instead of thousands and it's gonna change hot rodding in a good way
@@scrumpyb5859 we've tested the older Toyota ones and they don't compare to the Dodge pumps. 20+ years of innovation over the Toyota pumps, but we do thank the Toyota/Volvo pumps for starting the EPS revolution!
@@williamstamper442 The Dodge pump can be had for ~$150.00 right now, and they're plentiful. It took us 2 years of R&D to figure out how to control them, but we've tried to keep the cost of the controller down so you can do it for a hot rod price!

I’d love the LS 911 setup and the Gt3 comparison however I’m not sure that you gave yours the best shot at handling because of sway at pre load. Adjustable sway bar endlinks are pretty much necessary with a coil over set up unless maintaining stock ride height. Cross weights were awesome out of the box so you may have gotten lucky and there was no weight in the drivers seat. I know I’m a nerd but technically the sway bar links should be disconnected while corner weighting, a half tank of gas, and the driver (or equivalent weight) should be in the driver’s seat. Once all of the corners are where you want them and with the driver seated, adjust the sway bar end links so that the attachment bolts slide in and out of the heim joints easily. If you have to force the attachment bolt in then you will have pre-load. Just sayin’ 😂 Keep up the great work. You guys are fun to watch!

What a wicked little car. On that short course that extra torque really shows. That GT3 sounded like like it wasn't rev'd up much, I feel like once Blake was more comfortable and kept the revs up it'd do much better. Very cool though, glad he was willing to come play

This is the true definition of hot rodding. Being faster than the car in the next price bracket without spending more on the build than the car in the next price bracket 😂 And I’m a 996 guy too. I’ve loved this build.
That's impressive and after seeing the brakes, I knew it would come up short for that, but that's fixable down the road. I'm betting it's more fun to drive as well, cause the satisfaction is always bigger when you build it.
Tony my guess is the power steering fluid is Avaition hydraulic fluid-- also a million dollars a gallon stays fluid from frozen to center of the sun hot Very stable sorta like ATF just better in every way
The Powercraut definitely is a fun a capable machine. Once the brakes will get sorted, maybe some racing seats, it will be even more fun to drive. This was a great episode and it was nice to see a comparison against a clean GT3. Great job guys and very cool from Blake to take his Porsche for a bit of a matchup.
This is sick. I have a 997 turbo with mods and it's the best car I've ever owned but this makes me want to do a budget 911 build with an LS. That torque curve probably makes it very easy to steer with the throttle.
Shout out Blake who is willing to put his extremely valuable car through these ridiculous tests for pizza.

@@7eis Our controller can be controlled by PWM control, but without the controller, it's not possible to control the pump with PWM.

@williamstamper442 Toyota makes a good one that show in the yards already. Mr2,rav4, and I am sure a few other models.

I know I’m a nerd but technically the sway bar links should be disconnected while corner weighting, a half tank of gas, and the driver (or equivalent weight) should be in the driver’s seat. Once all of the corners are where you want them and with the driver seated, adjust the sway bar end links so that the attachment bolts slide in and out of the heim joints easily. If you have to force the attachment bolt in then you will have pre-load.

What a wicked little car. On that short course that extra torque really shows. That GT3 sounded like like it wasn't rev'd up much, I feel like once Blake was more comfortable and kept the revs up it'd do much better. Very cool though, glad he was willing to come play

That's impressive and after seeing the brakes, I knew it would come up short for that, but that's fixable down the road. I'm betting it's more fun to drive as well, cause the satisfaction is always bigger when you build it.
Tony my guess is the power steering fluid is Avaition hydraulic fluid-- also a million dollars a gallon stays fluid from frozen to center of the sun hot Very stable sorta like ATF just better in every way

This is sick. I have a 997 turbo with mods and it's the best car I've ever owned but this makes me want to do a budget 911 build with an LS. That torque curve probably makes it very easy to steer with the throttle.
