The feeling of standing on the start line 10 minutes before a big race starts with confidence you’ll do well and the feeling of the last 200-300 meters of the race as your about to cross the finish and hit your goal time is simply unmatched by anything else (for runners). Iykyk
Probably the best running ”advice” I’ve heard ever - that form and efficiency gets better over time. Because it’s so encouraging and “simple”. Patience and consistency is the way!
Love the podcast, man! I ran XC/Track in high school and college in northeastern MD and northern DE..400 meters up to ultra distances. Coached a few years of college XC. Recently signed up for Hyrox DC when my gym started Hyrox style workouts a couple months ago. Never heard of it till then and then I found your channel. Thanks for the info you give out!
I swear I think something during training and you will confirm what I thought like hours later you'll pop up on RUclips notifications crazy and so cool to know I'm in the right place thank you for everything you do brother much love from York western Australia 🦘🌏
Thank you for sharing, you keep my motivation high, my weight is about 85 kg to 82 kg and I expect to run a marathon on March in 3 hours and 15 minutes... I'm training so hard for that.
There is nothing like toeing the line of a marathon after putting in the best training cycle you've ever work toward, knowing you're going to race the race of your life. It will still be hard, but it's different knowing you have the physical capability and mental confidence to run a strong race. That's how it felt in Indy this past November, after a strong prep and about 6-7 failed attempts after getting back into marathons in 2021-2022. It's been 8 years since I ran my PR when I was 21 years old, and this year I finally pieced it together and found what I had back then and ran a new lifetime PR of 3:09. Now we go for the juggular and get sub that 3.
Benjamin here I am I been running 7 years and can’t even get sub 4 marathon lol. I’ve tried everything zone 2 running , faster long runs faster runs. Easy long slow runs , nothing seems to work. I always break down at mile 18-20 and run way slower . Maybe i just don’t have genetics to run a fast pace marathon. Because I have deff worked my ass off but nothing ever seems to work. Last year I even ran a fast 15 miler at 8 15 pace and still struggled in marathon and ended up slower at end with 950 pace. Maybe I’m better off trail ultra running as running fast just has not worked for me I don’t know why.
I learned that zone 2 utilizes fat for energy, not glucose. It uses glucose when doing sprints or a higher intensity than zone 2. If you run out of energy from fat doing zone 2, then it switches to glucose but you’d have to be going for a very long time before it switched over to using glucose for fuel. But I’m sure the literature is mixed. I very rarely fuel with carbs before a zone 2 run. Usually fasted. I also eat low carb. Maybe it’s time for an N=1 for fuelling before zone 2 to see if there is any change.
Ive been running for 2 years have have two half marathons at 1:50 in consecutive years. 🎉. Ive been trying maffatone but it feels like my speed is stuck at 11-12min miles for the whole time (13 in the summer). I have speed 1 day a week. Any advice on the getting that breakthrough? I feel my friends using it gettign faster and im struggling not getting faster.
I have been trying to lose weight for years now.. still overweight and been a mail carrier in usps its hard to make up time to exercise.. i have lost discipline. I am tired of been tired. I need help... dont know where to start..

LFG!! I Love each advice
Thank you for sharing it.
I hope all of these running tips are geared for the G1M Ultra!!! Set The Standard!
That race day feeling is unlike anything else when you’re entering a race to race it and not just complete it
It's definitely a different "nervous" feeling - it's more anxiousness to get started, rather than nerves wondering if you'll even finish well.
