    Necrotodds are terrifying, they can convince your enemies to buy infinite copies of Skyrim

    Great video!
    Oak Golems have the ability to heal between battles but stone, iron, silver etc golems don't heal between battles, so eventually get worn down. That's one of the main reasons I bother with Oak :)

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Месяц назад +5

      I'll have to consider them more knowing this, as Clay and Ice golems are already far more useful than any others simply because they can heal

    • @loob.
      @loob. Месяц назад +4

      @@CairnEnjoyer Yeah exactly, apart from these 3 you will eventually have your golems worn down. Also, I do think your basic wooden golems are great; you don't lose a valuable resource to produce them, unlike iron, silver and gold golems. They are relatively cheap, make great meat (wood?) shields for your mass produced bows to mow the enemy down, and removing forests benefits you in many ways like faster movement as well as removing a potential resource for the enemy.

    25:47 - There's a mod that I highly recommend using, that simply adds a guardian to the starting territory. It makes life less stressful for the human player, and it prevents instances like this where entire factions get killed because a deer wandered into their capital.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Месяц назад +1

      I’ll check it out, because even on high difficulty I still find half the AI nations die due to random animals or something. Usually I try to overpopulate the map if playing singleplayer.

      @@CairnEnjoyer So it turns out that the mod I was remembering has been out of date for years (... wow, I haven't played CoE5 in a LONG time)... There might be another one out there doing something similar, but I couldn't find one when I did a quick look through the workshop. :(
      I'm surprised the total overhaul mod doesn't do something like this (as far as I know), tbh.

    • @typical_name8682
      @typical_name8682 Месяц назад

      I think I found a similar mod - check out "Starting Defense Only" by Faheelee on the workshop. Alternatively, check out "CustomQuickStart" by Osmodias, which seems to be a remake of the mod I was using before.

    I loved the style and format of this video, absolutely ecstatic for this to become a series of some kind, I loved you talking about the unique units of the faction.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Месяц назад +1

      I only mentioned a few of them honestly, Enchanter particularly has a large number of summonable/constructed unique units. However many of them are very situational and probably not what people think of when choosing the class.

    • @fungalartifact649
      @fungalartifact649 Месяц назад +1

      @@CairnEnjoyer That is very true, it is easy to get overwhelmed with variety with this faction. I often times neglect the golems all together except for the clay golem and occasionally a "heavy golem" as you called them haha such as an Iron, I however seem to live off of the animated equipment and terracotta soldiers, while using animated tools as much as possible for late game scaling.
      Again loved the video excellent work.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Месяц назад +1

      In this video I practically did this as well, the bigger golems are a bit questionable of an investment until you already have a very high iron income (like maybe over 20), also most of the enemies ended up killing themselves off without much or a fight.

    • @fungalartifact649
      @fungalartifact649 Месяц назад

      @@CairnEnjoyer Exactly my thoughts too, they are good units, but have major drawbacks that prevent them from being fully utilized until way, way later in the game by which point most enemies have either died or gotten their citadel eaten by 2 deer hahah.
      The AI dying soon starts to get old, if you are feeling this way too, I recommend one of the many "starting defense" Mods on the steam workshop. If they aren't to your liking creating a simple mod to add more units for each factions army, or a static defense garrison is incredible easy to do as well.
      Edit: I also believe Necrotods are often slept on by some people, as you mentioned they can possible steal units for your army, which in turn saves resources but also results in the enemy army lines breaking up slightly. They do however require a slight variation in economy management.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Месяц назад +1

      This game is very RNG dependent for some classes that absolutely require certain resources. I'd like to make more class gameplay/overview videos like this which cover how you should be thinking about the class while you play, as sometimes playing a class the "wrong" way can lead to you getting stomped repeatedly even by easy AI.
