  • In this new let's play for Conquest of Elysium 5, we take on the mighty Baron class. With their focus on human troops, they seem a bit more vanilla than the other races, but they have some pretty fun tricks that keep it interesting for sure. They get buckets of free troops due to conscription so we will have a number of armies running around pretty quickly.
New abilities give a bit more freedom for the class. We are choosing the Monarchy era because we want to become the King of Elysium as one of our goals here. Otherwise, we are going to demonstrate what this class is capable of!
As always, this will be a beginner friendly playthrough and played to completion. We will run against 6 AI players on the Count difficulty and content will be uploaded daily!

Feel like this one could be labelled as tutorial and beginners guide for those searching for them

I might have to look into how I can do that. All of my COE videos are beginner friendly so maybe I should put it in the title. -Todbog

Of course! It can be daunting as a new player and I found watching let's plays helps me when I first get started. -Todbog

I love the different levels of difficulties for that reason. For instance, for my videos I feel I can hold my own against tougher difficulties, but that would result in a bit of a grind and wouldn't be as fun to watch. I feel the Count difficulty strikes the right balance (and allows me to win games in a reasonable amount of turns.) Even the starting difficulty can give you trouble until you learn some of the intricacies of the game. -Todbog

If you could name a spear man, could you name him “jeskin”? 😆

I will have to see if I can do that. If not, I will see about making you a captain at least. -Todbog

Sweep isn't new. It was in 4 and maybe even in 3 but I am not sure about that.

Sweep itself I thought was new, but could be mistaken. The only instance of multi-attack I remember from 4 was the tail attack on dragons which was done at a minus for each attack previously done. Having carryover damage wasn't something I ran into in COE 4. -Todbog

@@breakingthestream5732 I checked and it was added in COE4 but you have to click on the weapon to see that it has sweep. You might had missed it because it wasn't obvious.

Good to know. Sweep is quite good as it mitigates swarms a bit so I am glad it is a bit more obvious in this one. -Todbog

@@breakingthestream5732 COE 5 is a lot clearer about such things which is a very good thing. I really like that you can easily see which mages can be upgraded without having to bring them to a magic library for example.
