If I remember correctly, this mod has a few noob traps. There are a few early game encounters that are either unwinnable or only winnable with copious high explosives. Mind worms are also nasty.

My dream is that one day we get a game that acts like a combined Terror from the Deep and UFO Defense. So that you have to manage both land and sea (and maybe even the local solar system!). Even better if you combine it with some elements from Chapter Master (the mod game) and have to play nice with various factions to get and maintain your equipment (who also double as your funding).

This one next on my list after I'm done with Piratez(hopefully in next 3 years or so)

Hey, I couldn't find an answer to this but is there a way to check the composition of independent armies? What I mean is if the army is made of troglodytes is there a way to check their description, stats etc the way one can do with their own troops when right-clicking on them? I got my ass kicked by twenty troglodytes or so and my main guy died and I don't want to repeat the same mistake. Thanks.

I thought i drop a few tips seeing as this vid is somehow in my recommended, maybe others will get it too. Also, a comment for the Algorithm! In the early game, when you fight only humans, remember that your gals have much better night vision, and later on, don't forget to dim your lights. By default it's 'L' but i suggest rebinding somewhere closer. Plantations give 100k per month so i like making a base full of them. Then make them grow sectweed and either sell it raw or wrap blunts for more money. Even more money will be later with 1-cell power plants and also you can add more research there bc OH BOY is there a FUCKTON of research in this awesome mod. Throwing weapons are good early, better than 90% of human sized guns. My first 'standard-issue' gun was a lasgun. And its quite a bit of time to get there. As for the armor, chainmail and later plate is quite good up until the hi-tech. I never used light 'armors' like barbarian or amazon to any result but it may be just me. didn't watch the vid so stating the obvious - holding ctrl allows running - expend more stamina and less TUs. And because stamina depletes, I force my gals to take at least 1 beer and 1 first aid kit. Later you'll get coconut rum that can do both in one bottle (which also doubles as an almost non-lethal capture tool). Been playing the mod for 2 years, 1 restart, not even close to finishing it atm.

The hammer is the go-to tool for terrain destruction in the early game. I always keep one in the ship just in case. Also, that researcher wasn't a terrible shot; she was being affected by the CQB ranged debuff. If you're adjacent to an enemy, there is a very good chance that your shots will be 'deflected' and you'll end up shooting in a random direction. (You're incredibly lucky that your shotgun attack earlier in the video against the academy nurse in her ship wasn't similarly deflected)

Not doing pogroms only costs you 100 infamy. So, you can safely skip them, but you have to finish at least one to advance your captain rank. Remember, you a pirate, not a savior. You have no obligation to protect anyone, but you can choose to do it and only then you are responsible for civilian lives.

About the mutant pogroms, before you decide to join the Mutant Alliance, mutant pogroms give like 200 score penalty, so it is not that severe just to skip them early game.

None-of-the-above captain leads to 4 more different choices that you can decline again for 4 more until you have perfection as the only option. Still I am not sure how these choices work after multiple run attempts and over 400 hours

1:02:23 Shortbows are useless against heavily armored Ulm troops (unless you have flaming arrows). Your shortbows most likely did more damage to your own troops than they did to Ulm's troops. Bandar archers are much better when you face heavily armored opponents.

15:05 Blood bond will NOT activate blood surge as blod surge is activated by killing enemies not by taking damage.
