Saw your video, got the watch, and it has become one of my favorites. Perpetual calendar, day-of-week, date, tachymeter, 2nd time zone, and alarm all in an analog watch with sapphire crystal is really an incredible feat. I also sort of love the dial design with the weird numeral font. Main complaint is that it's quite tricky to set the alarm while on the wrist, since you have to pull the crown out.
Love this watch! I have the white dial, blue hands, larger case, and hardlex crystal version you mentioned! But either way, it’s the looks and functionality of this dial and it’s complications that sets this watch apart! Definitely a hidden gem in the vast Seiko lineup!
I love this watch. I have one in my collection and it gets a lot of wrist time. I have absolutely no complaints about it whatsoever but then again I’m new to watches.
Thanks for covering this watch it is very cool! I don't like that some of the numerals are cut off by the dials but other than that a magnificent watch. I think you got a great addition to your collection there 🙂
Hey, Alton. Haven't been watching you for long, but I'm a fan already. Excellent production value. Your strap-change magic is very cool! Also enjoyed watching the three of you shopping that day. As to this watch, I feel like the italicized numerals and the jeweled crown - which, for me, are very appealing designs - go hand-in-hand. If you don't dig those, well... Maybe they'll make another with the same movement but less fanciness some time. ✌️❤️⌚
Hey, Phil. Thanks very much for the encouragement. 👍 Yes, I think those two elements definitely compliment each other, and I should have noted that I was just stating a preference. I'd love to see this made in a bit less dressy version but I still think it's well executed as is. 👍
@@halfpastblog You're right, though - I'd also be interested to see different versions with the same movement. Also - I followed the link to the larger version. WTH is it so much cheaper than this smaller one?! Weird.
Put a crocodile leather strap on this and it is a stunner. I have owned this for a couple of years now. One of my favourites. I am a leaf hands and Breguet numerals fan. Plus the complications this watch has, combined with its thinness, is a winner for me.
Nice vid. Alton, as always 😎. Real cool watch, didn´t have it on my radar, thanks for that! Reminds me on my Jacques Lemans 420; which is called a "Analog-Quarz-Multichronograph". Not by the look of it, but by the crazy possibilities to work/play wih. But this Seiko is , for all its playfulness, is a very dressy watch! And not too small for a dresser. I´m already looking to buy. So "thank you" from my account balance...💣. See you soon 👍👍👍
Ha ha ha. Sorry in advance to your accountant. Ya, it's a great size for a dressy piece for those with bigger wrists. I think you could wear this as an everyday as well if you sit at a desk. And since it is a perpetual calendar you can wear it four times a year and it will still be good to go.
Thanks! Yes, it is a it busy. But after spending some time with it I got used to it and it became fairly intuitive to read and operate. Not for everyone, but a cool piece nonetheless. Thanks for writing! 🍻
I agree. Butterfly is luck of the draw if it fits and usually you have to wear them a bit big to accommodate swelling after binging a whole pizza. Or is that just me? 😁
Can we get Alton more subs man, the content literally is on fire, top notch work mate, and do really like this model I do have a busy Seiko in the Flightmaster, so no space for another.
Very slick editing and an entertaining video 👍 . I agree about the font, and the watch really isn't to my taste, but I can see why others would like it.
Thank you for this review, just what I was looking for! Got a question, can you have the main hand ticking seconds but the top dial showing the day rather than just pointing to CHR?
Seiko seem to have moved-on from the 7T86 movement, but they still advertise the SPC123. Sadly, it seems to sell for $100 more, but that looks like a less fussy version. I like both :-)
Ok, great watch, but what happens when it runs outta battery? Are the random watch shops in streets equipped or expert enough to change the battery or we have to send it to the company?

Yes it is! But glad you are enjoying it otherwise.

It's so weird they randomly put sapphire on this one. Wish they'd kept the blue hands and white dial though.

My pleasure! Ya, cut off numbers drive some people crazy.

Weird.
@@philtullos3823 My guess is the lack of sapphire crystal. Maybe also the size.
I've always been drawn to this line! Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
Black dial and black leather strap was awesome. Heck of a lot of time keeping for 200 bucks.
Absolutely! 👍👍
Excellent review Alton - all the info in a fast, fun and energetic style! Cheers!
Thanks, Mark! My ADD makes it hard to sit through long videos so I try to keep them moving along. 🤣
@@halfpastblog Ha!
Great video. Enjoyed it. That is a lot of watch for the money. Cheers!!
Thanks once again my friend. Have a great weekend. 👍

Another good review Alton. I've been looking forward to this review since the collection conundrum. It is a nice looking busy watch.

@Half Past Blog I didn't mean too busy. I think the dial looks great. A fold over double pusher clasp would be far preferable to the butterfly.
I agree. Butterfly is luck of the draw if it fits and usually you have to wear them a bit big to accommodate swelling after binging a whole pizza. Or is that just me? 😁
@Half Past Blog Out of the three watches from that Collection Conundrum I like the one you got the best.

You are far too kind. Thank you! 🍻🍻🍻🍻The Flighty is a good one.

Thanks! Ya, definitely not to every person's taste but cool nonetheless.
Great review. It’s a little too complicated for me but cool watch
Thanks, Kev!
As ever wonderful content and a great review 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you!
Thank you for this review, just what I was looking for! Got a question, can you have the main hand ticking seconds but the top dial showing the day rather than just pointing to CHR?
I do not believe so but I can check some time. If I recall it is in chr the whole time you use that function.

I confess I don't know much about this movement and those like it. I'm amazed what it can do though.
Ok, great watch, but what happens when it runs outta battery? Are the random watch shops in streets equipped or expert enough to change the battery or we have to send it to the company?
Just get a $15 kit off amazon and a three dollar battery and do it yourself. It's a five minute job. 👍👍
That’s an awesome watch, dude!
A very humble observation. 💯💯. Thanks for checking in, my man.
could you please tell me how to set the leap year ?
I am not intelligent enough for this baby .Great price though and very interesting.
Thanks Alton.
Ha ha. Sure you are! But it may not be your style I don't think.
Ooh wow!
👍👍
Can't find it for 200 anymore lol😂
what type of battery is this watch use?
Don't know. Sorry.
What's is CHR there?
CHRono
This. Check out 1:45 to see how it works. 👍
Good looker
