I want to thank everyone for the wonderful response to my recent wrap dress tutorial and I hope you like this one as well! For those of you who want another non-stretch fabric sewing tutorial, I will be starting one soon that I'm excited about! I also hope to plan a giveaway soon as well as a thanks for all the support :) Happy sewing everyone!
you will not believe the adventure i've been on before finding your video, all i wanted was a simple plus sized halter top pattern, but almost EVERY single tutorial or pattern for sale i've seen only goes to large or xl. with this it doesnt matter what size i am, so thank you for that!
WOW!!!! I have searched and searched for a simple tutorial 🤯everyone using a ruler and drawing lines 😵💫THANK YOU💖New subscriber 🥰you made it so easy and simple 💖
Thanks! This is just what I was looking for, it looks easy and I will try it for sure. Perhaps the back could be the same as the front with the strap running through both, so long as it is stretchy enough for my noggin.
You're the first Person whose spoken instructions I could follow without watching video image. Everything you said to detail steps of your project, I could reference from experience. Thank you for your tutorial.
I just love how you show detail by detail. I've done two of your creations, the fitted top and skirt with stretch fabric and everybody i showed the end result, really liked it. Thank you very much and be safe.
That makes me so happy to hear that you’ve made some things from my channel!!! Thank you so much for following my tutorials 😃 I hope you’re staying safe and healthy too 💕
I made my very first piece of clothing using this video! Your videos are so helpful and really step through it well, I'm really looking forward to making more pieces from your videos! Thank you so much for making these videos!!
I absolutely loved this! Simple, easy, no real measurement. Lol cuz I've been trying to draft a tank top, but added too much. Lol so my daughter has 2 new ones! Lol
Haha my mom said the same thing about it bringing her back to her teens and 20s!! Too funny 😄 It’s so crazy how styles are just reinvented every so often! Thank you for watching!!!
Thank you for sharing your gift and talent with us. I followed your clear and simple instructions and my top came out fantastic! I felt so proud of myself but felt even more thankful to you.
I love your sewing tutorials! But I haven’t seen any recent. Are you done with your channel 😢 I hope not! Yours is the best I’ve found! I used to quilt and just started making my own clothes and your channel has helped me a lot!
I just wanted to tell you how excited I am that I found your channel! By far, your channel and sewing tutorials have been so informative, easy, and understandable when it comes to making your own clothes! I cannot wait to get paid so I can make a couple new outfit pieces for myself!! Haha!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Aw, that is so sweet of you to say!! 😊 Thank you so much for watching!! It makes me so excited to know you're enjoying the tutorials and are gonna try some out for yourself! Hopefully payday comes soon for some fabric shopping 😄Thank you so much for checking out my channel and I'd love to hear what you wind up making! Happy sewing!!!
You're so welcome! That's so awesome you made your first sewing project, congratulations!!! 😃 If you'd like to share a picture I'd love to see it! Thank you so much for following my tutorial and keep up the great work sewing!

Hi Farah! Thanks for the request 😃 I’m afraid I haven’t been able to figure out the right shape of jumpsuit for my body type, it seems like any I’ve tried on or tried to make just don’t look right... but I’ll definitely keep trying and hopefully will be able to make one some day!
Thanks Dinah!!! This one came from LA Finch Fabrics (an online fabric store) and they always have the prettiest florals and prints, I wish I could buy them all 😂 Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week!
Aww I’m so happy you made it for her!! I wish there was a way to post pics on RUclips but there’s not, but if you have Instagram you could post it and tag me on there or if you’d like you could email a pic to comicatcreations@gmail.com 😃
Yay I hope you enjoy making one!! I made a dress a few years ago with a halter top like this (only cut with a higher waist) and attached a circle skirt at the waist and it’s one of my favorite dresses 😃 Thank you for watching and happy sewing!
Hi Monica, such great tutorial, I love it how you go through every tiny step. I tried the wrap dress with some twist to it, with ruffles and all. I just have to redo my thin ropes, I will surely share it soon!! Thanks for your wonderful tutorials!! You are such an inspiration ❤️🧡 Can’t wait for the non stretch halter top tutorial ❤️
Thank you Ramya! I appreciate that 😃 I’m so happy to hear you tried the wrap dress and I bet it’s gorgeous with ruffles! 😍 I can’t wait to see how it turned out! Thank you so much for following my tutorial and for the kind words, it means so much to me 😊 Ohh and the next tutorial with the non stretch fabric is actually gonna be a wrap skirt, so sorry I must’ve worded it wrong!!
Oh yay I’m glad to hear you’re gonna make one for yourself 😃 I hope you have so much fun sewing and enjoy your new top! Thanks so much for using my tutorial 😊
I luv this DIY halter and the thorough easy to understand instructions. Can you make a swing tank top with the top neckline the same in the front and the back? I saw it on FP made with a woven rayon fabric. I can’t figure out how to cut out. I think you could definitely do it 🤗
Voicing over has never come super easy to me and I've had so many comments and criticisms on my voice over the years that I've tried to change it a lot based on people's feedback (talk slower, talk faster, don't sound like a robot, be more energetic, be less energetic, etc!), but finally have learned I'll never please everyone so in my newer tutorials I just talk the way I want LOL! Thanks for watching!
Thank you and thanks so much for watching!! This particular top wouldn’t work with non stretch fabric but I do have a playlist with some other projects (including some other fun summer tops) that do work with non stretch fabric if you’re looking for some projects you can use non stretch for! Here’s the playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLPbm7bbor0ForKAHK59dMJ67BiNS5hLfU
Lovely! Maybe try the stretch zig zag (looks like dotted line zig zag on your machine). And just talk naturally. You have such a lovely voice! Just talk, don't use that modulated "computer" voice over. Love your videos! Keep them coming!
Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad you like the videos! I haven’t tried the stretch zigzag, I love using the triple straight stitch though so I’ll have to try that one some time too.
Hei. I had the same problem with my singer. Try to check the needle you are using for your fabrics. Because different fabrics need specific kinds of needle. SO if you use a wrong needle for instance for carvas it will break. Goodluck
Oh what a pain!! That’s so frustrating! As Mary said it’s definitely important to use the right type of needle for the fabric you’re using... the ball point needles work great for stretch fabric, and there are a lot of different types and sizes of needles for different types of fabrics as well. Usually on the package it’ll say what type and weight of fabric the needle is meant for (like lightweight, heavy, denim, stretch fabric, etc.). Another important thing is to change them fairly often! If your needle has been used for a lot of projects, it can be dull and break easier, so I like to change them every couple of garments to make sure they’re nice and sharp 😃 They can also get bent over time (I used to make a lot of makeup bags where I would sew over zippers, and also would sew cosplays with really thick fabrics, and these would cause the needles to get bent a bit after sewing)... sewing with a bent needle will cause them to break easily too. If they still keep breaking, I wonder if you could talk to a sewing machine repair shop to see if there could be something off with your machine, like maybe something in the mechanics could be off that could cause it to break. I hope you’re able to figure it out, there’s nothing more frustrating when you want to sew than when the equipment doesn’t work right!!!
It does have to be stretch fabric 😃 A non stretch fabric won’t be able to be pulled on and off or be fitted like this top unless it’s made very differently. Thanks for watching!!
What can I say, I was excited to make it! 😄 Although I will say sewing has always been my comfort zone and not voice overs so I’m always working to find a better balance of good pace and energy for my voiceovers!
