72 years old,I'm up to 7 pull ups. Also been practicing hanging with one had to increase grip strength. I do some pull ups with my legs straight out to work the abs at the same time
After hurting my rotator cuff previously, doing pull ups this way feels so much better. If people need an alternative for this then gymnastics rings work wonders. I hang my rings from a strong beam in my garage but you can also attach them to a sturdy tree branch.
So true about making sure the door trim is nailed in good. We learned the hard way. Son did some pull ups & it gave way. The trim, pullup bar & him came down.
I’m 72 and can’t do as many as I used to in a single set when I was in my 50’s (14). I often do a EMOM workout where I do 3-4 every minute on the minute for 10, 12, or 14 minutes. My best is 42 in 14 minutes
You can also hang a resistance band and have it go on the bottom of your foot which can make pullups easier. Then you can reduce the band as you get stronger.
Long time sub and fan of many of your YT content. I’ve always done pull ups and consider them a fundamental exercise that makes up a core part of my resistance training. I have never neglected the basic exercises same as I have always maintained a properly balanced diet and everything else.
I LOVE the inspirational quote!!! Be who you needed when you were young!!! Sweet!!!! I’m not good with pull-ups!!! I have been sharing different playlists of yours most everyday, with my clients!! You two ROCK!!!! Have a happy rest of your week! 🙂
Lol...kudos for trying to make converting exercise apparatuses into clothing racks- GUILT FREE! But I’m not falling for it! 😂 BTW...you gentlemen are AMAZING
Heeheehee... you guys are funny 😄 I like that gadget Brad made for the wall! Love your tips! I tell my friends who have issues about you too. 😊 Your hip videos have helped me. I have bursitis on both hips. And arthritis in my life back where I had surgery in '99. Thanks! My orthopedic Dr sent me to therapy for the bursitis.
I just ordered this mattress --Sleepovation --in a twin. I have a bad back--age 70 110 lbs Hopefully, this mattress works well because it is very expensive. I had my firm Saatva for two years and it sags. ;( And my back hurts.
I rent and cannot put bolts into wall studs without losing my damage deposit. I prefer the other methods for pull-ups. 1. Tension pull-up bar: not permanently affixed, you adjust the length of the bar; when weight is applied, the bar cinches tighter into the door frame. I use gymnastics rings attached by short strips of climbing webbing to the bar, giving me the range of motion they talk about it. 2. Duonamics eleviia pull-up clamps. Quick and easy. You don't get the full range of motion or the ability to do all the exercises you can with the bar and rings, but the clamps are lighter, easier to take down and put up (just a few seconds actually). Great for travel
I'm in my 50s and have to admit that I'm not able to do even a single pull-up yet. But I've been going to the gym and do assisted pull-ups. One of these days as long as I'm diligent in going to the gym, I'm sure I'll be able to do it soon. And enjoy the monkey bars :-D
Its likely due to your low back extends with these, Mine hurts to. However if you do them with your knees up towards your chest ( hips flexed) it should feel much better. Good luck
@Bob & Brad *The last time I did PULL-UPS, it caused me to get a very very painful PINCHED-NERVE in the back Right Hip.* *You talk about Severe Scrutiating PAIN for about 5 long months.* = - o *After 13 years gone by,,, I still will Never, Never, Never do another PULL-UP again as long as I live.*

Thats incredible, being able to do that still at that age is a dream of mine.
Yes sir keep up the great pull up work! I too am over 70 and can snap off sets of 5 easy. My budget is 90 pulls ups per week.
@@reddogleader1968 I've only started doing pull ups a few weeks ago. My goal is hanging on the bar with one hand for 30 seconds and doing a muscle up.
Thats actually pretty dang good. Unless you're paralyzed or something like that you're never to old to keep yourself strong.
I am a 65-year-old grandmother of 10 and I can do for chin-ups on a good day. You have given me the incentive to work up to 10. Keep up the good work.
Amazing! I am 19 and I can do 10 with decent form.

I am a 48 female and did my first chin up last year . I have built up to a few more now since using the handles 👍🏼

Thank you guys for giving me the courage to go get help and physical therapy...

Major “Billy Mays here” vibes
Excellent, this makes a big difference especially when new to pull ups. It is allot more comfortable with the handles that can turn.

I like the quotes at the beginnings of the videos :D
I laughed so hard when you made fun of Bob pronating and supenating comments. 🤠👍👍👍
Would gymnastic rings work the same way?
These guys are great
Does hanging treat internal/posterior impingement?
a great idea when and where are you selling them?
you can do the same with gymnastic rings, but you have to find a place to hang them
I asked the same question. They responded with a link... scroll through the thread to my comment you'll see the link.
You are the best👍😁🙏❤️
Love and light from Sweden ❤️

Not bad, and it is true, there are not a lot of 60 year olds that can do even ONE pull up without kipping hard.
Very nice...
I wonder they might have had a great physique in their youth
Bad idea so close to the wall
Pull-ups aggravate my spondy. For some reason back hurts after.

With this system, you will want to do them with your back to the wall and knees up.
Ok. Thanks. I think will need to have my knees held/suspended somehow perhaps. Because tried that, still didn’t work.
If you have 16” you have a lot of options.
You guys sitting there with your mattress lol. Your poor sign needs a rehaul
Talk, talk, talk
