As a result of this video, I went and bought some bands and then forced myself to spend all of 5 minutes a day doing the exercises for the last week. Result. Back pain nearly gone after many years. Feeling fitter and stronger. So much happier in myself. Great work guys. Thank you.
you all probably dont give a shit but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!

I agree. We either rust out or wear out. I’d much rather wear out. Past injuries are requiring different ways of stretching and strengthening exercises for me, now. I didn’t listen to my elders telling me that “I would pay for these injuries when I got older. “ I am.
Hi Darrel, I am also 75 years old and have terrible back pain. Now I see there is hope. I thought I was doomed for the rest of my life. I HATE getting old and do everything to fight it. Also, thanks for the pep talk.
They said to speed forward if you don't want to hear all the explanation. Minute 6 Brad starts with the resistance bands. I'm so grateful for these two men!! Real people who give help to so many of us!
You can make your own doorway anchor - tie a long sock together and the knot goes into the door and leaves a solid loop for your band. You're welcome ;) #SPTinquarantine
During coved and limited chance to swim, use bands on high notch to simulate swim stroke with back facing anchor for crawl stroke and the reversing facing anchor and working on pull portion with high elbows. Farther away increase intensity. Nice work guys,
Love this routine and completely agree. While everyone loves planks upper body strength is a major factor. If someone has a weak upper body it can be too difficulty an exercise in addition to the back pain it can cause. Core stability versus strength is the future!
Yes, isometrics is the archstone of that golden arch. Its called functional strength. Funny fact the spartan looked more like a cross fitter haha. No they didn't do that nonsense, but they prioritised running for miles daily, not eating and sleeping and still being agile and mentally sharp to fight anything equipped with anything or nothing. Soldier training basically. Functional world skills. Imagine having back pain then
I'm so excited to use this workout to strengthen my core. I've had chronic back pain for years due to spondy, arthritis, stenosis, and all the 'fun' that goes with them. Running is definitely in my rearview mirror but I look forward to more cycling and swimming. Thank you so much for showing us all these details. I appreciate it!!!
BTW, thank you Bob and Brad for all these videos. I was going down the same path as Brad was-back surgery, until I strengthened my core and lost a little weight. It's a lifelong process though. For about a year, I did core exercises daily-hip raises, bird-dog, cat camel, various stretches, prescribed to me by an orthopedist and a PT. Lately, I've been incorporating more of these "anti-rotational" exercises, as they were presented to me by a strength and conditioning coach, and it's helped a lot as well. Going to head to Amazon now and buy Brady's book, with an apology to my all my fellow NY JETS fans!
This is a great work out. I ride a bike for cardio but have had injuries, knee an shoulder, which prevent me from for riding weeks at a time. This work out provides the cardio I have been missing and great core work out. I also have stenosis in the neck an L1 issue which pops up from time to time. These exorcises fit prefect with my situation. Great job guys.
These are GREAT!! I was sweating in less than 15 seconds! I may never slouch again!! If you don’t have the wall anchor, that thing you slip in the door crack worked perfect. You all are so helpful. Thank you! You’ve changed my life or at least my posture!! 😂
Hi guys, I am a PTA and watched many of your videos now and when I was in school. Always good to learn new and better ways of doing things. Loved this video as it shows functional exercises without tons of equipment. Thanks for these videos and keep them coming! :-)
@@MMAFightMagazine I can never figure out if I am doing a complete core workout. I do bridges, hip abduction, birddog. Then I move on to some yoga poses. Probably a single arm row would do my lats and traps good enough.
I have terrible problems trying to do planks, so this video is wonderful, thank you. I tried it today, and it's hard work but very good. I'm adding it to my regular programme.
That is an awesome workout. I used longer though because I took short breaks between the exercises. I love how different muscles are engaged. It feels more like a full body work out than just a core exercise. Thank you!
52 - lifelong gym rat with joint issues. This looks amazing. Exactly what I need. I've had their recommended resistance band kit with wall kit in my Amazon cart for days. This video convinced me. And...the Tom Brady book doesn't hurt.

I think I've just been convinced to put those anchors on my wall in the family room. Our home is small and no room for a work out room. Thanks Bob and Brad!
The brand I have doesn't need anchors but has fittings so you can fix to the top or the bottom of a door. I also loop over the post at the foot of our stairs which is ideal for rows/pushes and means every time you walk by you can work a few minutes.
WHEW!! The only way I could keep up with the 5 minute option is to slow the video down by a quarter amount! This kicked my butt, and oddly made me instantly stand up straighter!?! I’m 57, too! I am going to add this to my regular workout a few times a week! Thank you! Does this work the Lat muscles? If not, could you add some exercises for that specifically? Love you guys! Thank you for all your help!!
Thank you!!! Thank you!! Planks hurt me so much. Dr keeps telling me-- core strength- for my back. Well...it has been a viscous cycle for me. Thank you!
If you have never done these before, try the "stir the pot" one but with very small circles. 10 seconds of these may make you very sore if you are not used to working those side core muscles.
Just watching that, I have to agree, it doesn't look like its working the core AT ALL. AT least the first few exercises. BUT I will take you guy's word for it and try it out.
I wish I had seen this video before I had surgery. I had Spondylolisthesis grade 3-4. I can't run now and I'm in pain 24/7. I still keep moving and do yoga videos. I try to keep walking. It's life changing. I wish I'd never had the surgery. Back surgery will NEVER be the answer.
I love all of Bob and Brad's videos, but this one is the best for me. It's exactly what I need, especially since I hate planks and have anterior hip flexion. One question: What kind of hooks are on the wall. I would like to purchase them. Thank you.
Side planks are really hard on my shoulders - I had to give those up - they don't like the unnatural compression loading forcing the arm bone into the socket like that. In real life, outside the gym, how often are you going to be lying on your side, holding your arm out straight and trying to keep something from crushing you like that? That is pretty much the side plank. Pushup/normal plank is a much more natural pose.
