@@dominikmilien Hahah that's ok Dominik. It was a play on the title of this channel "Tugs". In Bangkok you have massage shops that provide a sexual hand finish after your massage. These sexy massages are also known colloquially as a "rub and tug", as the masseuse rubs your body with oil then "tugs" on your genitals. Hope that description helps with your understanding. Here's what the Urban Dictionary says: "Rub and Tug. A name for a Massage parlor or place in which after the massage is given, it is ended with a hand job. aka Happy Ending".
Watching the video. It’s clear you guys brainstormed and wanted to make the best possible product!! The ability to rotate different directions is cool!! Very cool!!
Mr, Patey - a suggestion, if you haven't thought about it. Add a dock for the hand controller at the top of the tug. So you always know where the hand controller is. And perhaps have it recharge the hand controller from the tugs batteries.
Mark and Mike, you guys are a great inspiration for me, I opened up an aerospace tooling company, my motivation has been Best Tugs. if I operate similar way you guys do pretty soon I'll buy my own plane and will need one of your tugs in my hangar!
I would love one these for my trailers... while I don't like keeping loaded trailers, sometimes I don't have a choice, and in those instances, I have to park them in the open so I can easily link up. A device like this would amazing to get the trailers into tight spots where they can't easily be seen, stolen, or take up unnecessary space. Heck, I could park the trailers backward if I really wanted. Fantastic product beats the pants off the manual control ones.
Anything from the World Famous Patey brothers is bound to be Top Notch quality. Their research and development is incredible on everything they do not to mention Awesome Integrity.
Wish I had one of them years ago trying to put a citation 650xl in a hanger an also rotating rotor blades on an agusta 109 to clear the tail . You did a great job designing it
Mark, nice job on the explanation of this tug’s function. I see comments below where people who don’t even own a plane would buy one - that’s the power of a good presentation. You might want to put a graphic at the end that lists this tug’s most-important features that differentiate it from the inferior tugs of competitors. Keep up the great work!
God danm it that's smart i dont own a plane and i have no idea how to fly . i need one of thoose ASAP.. il install a chair and scoot around all day long .. even mount a lil bell on it
I watched Mikes Draco and Scrappy videos I never knew Best Tugs were remote control plane tugs. That’s awesome great little tool to push your 3 million dollar epic around
That particular model is. That one is remote, or " r " for short which is why they call it " romeo". I only know this from watching Mark doing a RUclips factory tour a month or so ago
With those epoxy finishes, you can add a grip additive to the finish when mixing the two parts together. Makes a massive difference to grip levels and doesn’t really affect the sweeping etc. back to the tug, very impressive Mark. Not hard to damage nose gear if you’re careless .
One feature I see but you didn't demonstrate, was the ability to either have the tug backing when the plane is backing, or having the tug driving forward when the plane is backing.
The newer version has a remote that will also position the airplane, contact the tower, start the engine and use the new Garmin TakeOff and Landing hands off autopilot assist to deliver the plane to several thousand airports within the fuel range of your aircraft. Or for fun, you can position the prop's spinner within an inch of the hanger's bathroom door. Great for surprising your friends.
Funny at 5:00 he doesn't show it loading up again since it was no longer backed up against chocks. I can only guess that this tug is useless unless the plane has chocks behind the wheels.
NICE!!! I do not have an airplane... but now I want a Best Tugs Lazy Suzan.... jeez I wish I had that back in my KC-135 days... ( yea I know .. weight!! ) God.... I would have been King of the Ramp..lol
I like to watch the Hangar 10 videos. They are using another remote controlled tug that appears to be working quite well (although it was shot in Europe, it also seems to be a US product). But after seeing this demonstration, I think the Patey product is of better quality.
We use a similar product at Heathrow T5. The amount of problems with them such as water ingress during rain and signal loss have caused oversteer issues on the NLG. It’s a very expensive way to ground your aircraft due to convenience.
Great tech. You should take it to the next level using wireless sensors (camera/sonar) that can be attached to the wing tips and tail to help the operator move the plane without depending on sever people to help you spot. With a little more SW it should be able to return to its parking spot on its on. All of this tech exist, its just a matter of packaging it for this application. Have fun.
I could have used one of these when I was about six-years-old. My dad had a Cessna 337 Skymaster and my dad, brothers, and I were pulling it out of the hanger and instead of pushing it by the wing pylon like I should have been, I was pulling in front of the wheel and it run me over and twisted up my leg. Now when I'm sharing campfire stories, I can honestly say that I was run over by an airplane. My ankle was all broke and I got the typical "walk it off" from my dad. lol! We were a lot tougher back then. I crawled around for two weeks after that.
Have you offered to make a remote tug for Virgin Galactic? Their space ship lands with a front skid. At the moment a bunch of guys with a hitch and a 4x4 tow the space ship after having waited to be sure that any flight gases have dispersed. How much cooler if a remote Best Tug picks up the nose skid just after the space ship has stopped. Then the pilot could "Tug Taxi" straight to the apron without any outside help?
It looks like the Best Tugs might be the best tugs in the world. So, the only question left is how much does it cost to get the best, and is it worth it? I wonder if Mike will answer that... 😏
Should have a backup hole so you can but in a arm to override it so you can keep using encase something happens to the remote. Ie; dropping in the toilet.
I want to buy this thing and I don't even have a plane!
Same here
Ride it to the stores

Seeing that tug makes me want to buy an airplane! lol Seriously though, looks like a great tug.

OMG, that's N504SM! I helped work on that plane getting those inner gear doors. Great to see they are still holding up.
A sophisticated tug with all the needed features designed into your device. And remote control as a bonus.
I always wondered if "best" tugs was marketing BS or deserved. This video answered that question! Good show!

Is there a emergency-stop in case of a stuck control on the consol?

Where is the option to send it home via gps? Like remote drone that return to its origin. Very cool.
If using the lazy susian, then it would cause one of the wheels to pivot on the spot. Isn’t that bad for the tires?
