Your tip about dis-engaging the chain brake on the clutch cover when you re-assemble the chainsaw saved me from paying someone to fix the chain saw. The instruction manual doesn't mention doing that and other videos gloss over that fact. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for this very well clarified video! I used my chain saw for the first time today, the chain popped off when i had only two small branches to go, and I could not get it back on. I think because the other video that I watched, not yours, wasn't as clear as you were on what to do, so I got back up there on the ladder and it was locked up. So when my back stops hurting, I will put it back on the way that you showed! Thank you again so much! I am a 67 year old, 4'9", 105 pound woman with a lot of ambition.

I have used this Ryobi 16" 37cc saw for my limbing and small cuts (super lightweight, and a good inexpensive little saw for little projects) for over 5 years. Of course, I upgraded this Ryobi to an Oregon bar and chain to make it work well. But I digress. I never expected that this saw would become a staple on my dads property. I did not expect that it would be a little workhorse that would show up every day to limb, chop, and make short work of new growth. I am on my 3rd chain, and (as I explained, go OREGON bars!) my 2nd bar. Learn how to keep your chain sharp, so you are not buying a new chain when what you have just needs a little honing (imagine everyone throwing away their pocket knives, instead of sharpening them correctly).
Whatever saw you choose to take home, just remember the mantra of wise men everywhere.
'She is a fickle bitch. You have to learn just what she wants. Just what she needs, even if she will never articulate that fact to you. Use your Zen power, and figure out what she needs to be happy and grind hard. She will never tell you, so you had better figure that out for yourself. If you can unlock that mystery, she will stay by your side forever, and never let you down'.

I've fixed 10 Ryobi chainsaws that all had the same problem . Chains with hammered drive links . Stiff spots in chain and bar sprocket wore out . They all had the same problem .the replacement chain was the correct size but wrong style . Ryobi requires a 3/8 LOW PROFILE pitch NOT a 3/8 standard pitch . THESE ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE . Nobody mentions that . So pitch , gauge , and drive links will get you the right size but will wreck your chain and sprockets . Unless it's a LOW PROFILE CHAIN. This is a big deal any needs to be pointed out very clearly .as most people don't read or keep the manuel's . Of the 10 saws I fixed only one retained the manuel . Please spread the word
