Can't Let Go is one of Mariah's best songs thats she ever made. Its one of the most ethereal records I've ever heard. The song would have been Mariah's 6th number one if it wasn't for her record label shelving the record at the last minute in an effort to boost her album sales. Mariah was a force to reckon with during her early career.

Awesome reaction, Jack. This song is a great slow jam. A few things about this song. It was her first single to NOT go to #1 (it only reached #2). Also, the album version has the whistles at the end as well. At the time, her management thought that the whistles would be too much for the radio. So, in true **ssy fashion, they released a radio version where the whistles are completely cut out. She's mentioned the record company's decision a few times before. Lastly, this song is among those songs that she has gone the greatest amount of time not performng live She only started singing it again (I believe 2018 but don't hold me to that). Previously she did a few snippets on tour in 2005/2006 but she hadn't really had a full performance of it since the 1990s (to the best of my knowledge). Anyway, it is a beautiful and very underrated song. It appears on her song album, "Emotions". Peace!

Ok, I'm back with one more comment. My personal taste - the "Charmbracelet" era is my favorite period of hers (2002 - 2004). She had so much power in all of her registers during this time. I would like to suggest "Vision of Love" from The Charmbracelet Tour - Birmingham. I haven't found a good quality video of it other than the one I've suggested that has audio only. That being said, it'd be interesting to get your opinion solely on what you are hearing. All the musical choices she makes and the stamina that she has throughout the song truly floors me. The video has about 4K views. Not everyone may be familiar with this performance but Mariah killed "Vision of Love" throughout this tour. Okay, we'll see what happens.
