A great song...I saw SAXON way, way back in the 80's.....they were supporting RAINBOW at DEESIDE LEISURE CENTRE in the UK......Saxon were awesome.Earlier this year I bumped into BIFF in London [FEB 2011] and was lucky enough to chat with him. What a great guy..and great sense of humour....
I don't care if this song is totally against Saxon's style of music. Every hard rock band has melodic and touchy songs that are part of the soul of the music!
Saxon it’s been one of my favorite bands of all time! I’ve listening to their music for 37 years until I finally saw them in concert last year in Seattle!!
I wish Saxon would incorporate some of the material from the 'Destiny' and 'Innocence Is No Excuse' albums in their live set. Truly molten slabs of hard rock!!!!
I agree. Both are AWESOME albums. Some of Saxon's fans want them to be a one-dimensional band that they never were and their backlash against Destiny and Innocence is No Excuse seems to have led to those great albums being buried somewhat.
Classic Melodic Rock! the time 80s, 90s were for these kinda Rocks, unfortunately they are lost now replacing craps nowadays! but they could more bigger, as they could not get the credits they really deserved, there were other Melodic Rock Bands too could not get the credits they really deserved as they could not make more bigger, anyway thanks a lot for uploading Kamil Jaros.
Great Melodic Rock! Awesome Music! and Great Guitar Work! Today's rocks and music sucks! This Kinda Rock-Melody had gone away long! after 80s and 90s!!...Thanks a Lot for Uploading Kamil Jaros. .....
A wonderful and criminally underrated album with great melodies and songs. Don't mistake me - I'm a denim and leather SAXON metal head from '79 onward - but as mentioned by others here - you have to appreciate and respect awesome music irrespective of the genre.
i've been following hard rock/heavy metal music since 84. How have i missed this? I know i'm embarrassing myself with such a statement but truth be told!!
I don't care what critics say. The only thing that matters is the connection between the listener and the music. This is great music that is very easy to fall in love with. They sing really well here and hey there is no reason why a band can't be able to do this kind of music and still pull off Crusader. It shows a range of talent and I'd like to see Iron Maiden try to sing a song like this. It would be awful becuase they simply can't do it. The complete catalog of Saxon is quite versatile.
You keep me waiting, you won't answer your phone I know you're home but you're not alone Stop playing games, girl You're playing with my heart I was a fool to fall for you lies It took so long for me to open my eyes I was a stranger A stranger from the start But how long must I stand out in the cold Can't you see the writing's on the wall I've been waiting I can't wait anymore I can't wait anymore I can't wait anymore
SAXON is for sure on of the best and most well known bands from the nwobhm. They influenced a lot of bands no one can deny it.The thing that happened was that when they released their first albums up to denim and leather they were signed in a smaller record company and probably did not get what they deserved. When they went to emi i asume they were forced to write more glamish stuff in order to sell in the states thats why probably they lost alot of fans.
I´ve always loved Saxon since I had heard "Wheels of Steel". I still love ´em! But indeed ... the times they tried to get into the U.S. market had their kind of funny sides, like this video. I bet, Biff would love to never have taped it ...
Saxon in AOR mode great song they pulled it off great before going even heavier than the mighty best stuff they did and continue to do. Thing is don't you think Saxon always had a more melodic sound than Maiden? I do. I think Maiden is creators of thrash/speed Saxon are melodic heavy NWOBHM. Well, I prefer Saxon any day! Saxon, Diamond Head, Jaguar, Helloween, Accept with UDO, a lot of great music and I was even at a very young age only 12 and 13 knocked out by it. Now it's time to bring rock/metal back and I'll do it. Nobody is going to believe what I do I'm not sure "Metal" is the word although the influences are all there. It will be heavy, but very 60s/70s/80s demo sound. I want to go full on and get a backing band, but that causes trouble. I'll be raw and have to do it myself. All of it.
Pablo Nino Nathaniel Stoop Oh yeah! They really should have been seen as the #1 UK band of that era. I don't hate Maiden or even dislike them, but Saxon is for my tastes much better.
Pablo Nino Nathaniel Stoop Great bands undoubtedly. I miss the old school sound like Maiden, Saxon, Priest, Diamond Head, Tygers of Pan Tang. Great bands. They have melodies aplenty and power aplenty.
i just don't see why they call this the "bad era." maybe to metal purists, but i major in music and have so much love for damn near every style of music, and this foray into arena rock territory was very interesting in my eyes. this song easily could have been written by steve perry and jonathan cain, but biff's distinctive voice and graham's notably different soloing style from neal schon makes it theirs.
@TheHijacked ... no: i was 7 years old in 1988 :) but i discovered SAXON late and I liked, as you can see on my last cover... did you sow it by the way?
@blancfaces Did you by the record when it was released back in June 1988 like I did, Saxon had gone a bit soft at this stage however, I have aways stuck by this band been a true Yorkshireman like the band. Saxon are now back at the top they were massive at Download "Monster of Rock to me" Keep Rocking Saxon
SAXON!! What would expect? They totally kick def kitties ass. And guess what? they are still making great music. New stuff from a great 80s band? SAXON!!

Great song from a very underrated Saxon album.........Saxon rock........and have always done so.
saxon are that good they can play anything, amazing musicians/songwriters and live band
their latest album is awesome... Biff is the man.. plus I just love the solo here... nicely done AOR by one of the biggest metal experts..

Damn, they got such wide range. And every bit of it is awesome, unbelievable.
Saxon. Essa banda é mágica. ..fascinante!!!
jedna z najlepszych piosenek Saxon
One of my all time favorite bands but I can't help chuckling when I see Paul Quinn in those wigs.
Great Melodic Rock! Awesome Music! and Great Guitar Work! Today's rocks and music sucks! This Kinda Rock-Melody had gone away long! after 80s and 90s!!...Thanks a Lot for Uploading Kamil Jaros. .....
Throughout the whole video I've been having my eyes glued to the drummer.
One of the best vocalists in the world.Biff!!!!!!
A wonderful and criminally underrated album with great melodies and songs. Don't mistake me - I'm a denim and leather SAXON metal head from '79 onward - but as mentioned by others here - you have to appreciate and respect awesome music irrespective of the genre.

I miss songs like that! I miss real music
Please define "real music".
"real music" = Anything made before 2000, after that it's mostly GARBAGE!
Brendon Carmo same

Saxon´s absolute best song :(
Surely in the Top 5 of the best AOR balldas ever...10/5 stars!!!

+Benjamin Blake Mitchner Saxon is massively underrated, they're a massive influence on Melodic / Power Metal.
Pablo Nino Nathaniel Stoop
Oh yeah! They really should have been seen as the #1 UK band of that era. I don't hate Maiden or even dislike them, but Saxon is for my tastes much better.
Benjamin Blake Mitchner I like Saxon and Maiden equally.
Pablo Nino Nathaniel Stoop
