This is the review I've been looking for. No Hellcat. No Scat Pack. Just the basic V8 package. Thanks!
Chris Chandler yep you dont really need more.
I've now had my 2013 R/T w/6 speed, base model, for 7.5 yrs. It's just my "toy", no mundane duty, just for fun driving. I'm very happy with it.
@@1redrubberball do you think I should get a 2015 challenger r/t with 90k miles ??they should have a engine/motor warranty right?
2010 red challenger R/T classic 65k miles 6 speed 12k in mods ..lov the the car ..
People have become so brand biased that they refuse to acknowledge anything different. You gained my respect by not only telling me your preference, but also by giving the Dodge an unbiased review.
One of the better and well spoken videos I have seen on You Tube. Talking to the viewer with the right tone and feel like he knows you.
This guy is one of the best. Always objective.
This car is awesome. I used to drive Mustangs but jumped into a Challenger and it fits my needs. Yes the Mustang is quicker but who cares? If you're not at the track all the time and racing non stop at stop lights it doesn't matter. The Challenger R/T has more than enough power with it's Hemi and it has more room and more comfortable. It's all preference and to be quite honest there are way too many Mustangs on the road.
Robert Smith I live in Brooklyn and I rarely see them. I usually see BMW's and Lexus.
Oz M. you made me lol.
Man I couldn't agree more with you, everyone now a days is obsessed with being the fastest. There's really no point. The challenger is a much more better car for daily driving. That's what really matters.
Your review is awesome. Well articulated unbiased review. Keep on rocking mustang man!
I have a 2013 R/T and absolutely love it. Granite Crystal Metallic Clearcoat. Bought it because when I sold my 1970 Challenger I always said someday I will buy another one. Big difference over the old 318ci. Had to trade my Ram 2500 Hemi to get it but well worth it. 40 yrs and happy again, bring on the speeding tickets lol.
hell yeah brother
This guy is like Bob Ross for car videos, very calm
Thanks for the review. Based on this review and several test drives purchased this vehicle myself. Went with the manual. Love the car. Keep up the good and honest reviews. Great job.
9:20, the recommended fuel is 89-91 to prevent spark knocking, not 87
4:02 1971 Milies. Nice Easter Egg.
Did you see our test drive of the 2015 #Dodge Challenger R/T?
First Drive: 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T
Great video's man keep it up
Great video I learned a lot about that model that I didn't know.
The challenger doesn't have a competitor. It's a muscle car. The only one they make anymore.
great review look forward to more thank you
GREAT REVIEW. THANK YOU...
Good review! My RT Plus Shaker 6 speed is more than just great sound, It will beat a lot of cars in it's class as stock. With Mods, the 5.7 can be made insane....
I have this exact car for my daily driver. I love it! If i were to get a challenger for the performance id go with the srt. That being said. Its the perfect muscle daily driver :)
nice review
... I'm happy for new power range and options models for challenger too... the 2015 year is really wanna have challengers year
Thank you for the fair review. I highly recommend improving the used microphone. Thanks again
I appreciate your review. I really want to get hold of one of these cars… Maybe someday
Great video, man! Thanks
thanks for all the information , good review *****
Nice review!
Great review :)
He mentions the "base model" There are models below the RT such as the SXT and GT that are V6. Not sure if he knew that
Great review overall thanks
love the new inside wow looks nice
Great review.
I have two questions, being a mustang man, have you tested to new 2015 mustang gt? and if so, which would you recommend, this vehicle or the gt, and why? TestDrivenTV
he definitely had 1971 miles on it on purpose
I still love the interior on my 2013 challenger. But I do like the speed gauges on the 2015 model.
Absolut very good Video.
The scenery is beautiful. Where was this video shot?
Still love all of these cars
7:50 "...giving it athleltic reflexes" "...windy road..."
LOL you Domestic guys are alright lol
Does the challenger R/T have a onboard gps or should I buy a TomTom gps?
nice review. thank you ..I have been debating on this car. specially for a Toyota guy...
Good review.
This is the best muscle car for me! The Mustang has so much power it will break the rear end loose, easily. The Camaro has so much power that I couldn't drive it 1 mile without getting a speeding ticket. The 392 hemi is the same deal as the Camaro with all of that horsepower. The Corvette would put me in jail so fast your head would spin; Just like the Hellcat. So this 375 horsepower car is best for me.
p.s. I forgot to mention: who would buy a muscle car with an automatic? I've had a '69 Mustang that was an automatic so I'm not hating, I'm just wondering?
The automatic is faster (due to the faster gear changes), gets better fuel economy, and is just plain more comfortable to drive in stop and go traffic. I understand the appeal of a stick, but I also don't think it's that hard to see why someone would want the auto.
Or just control yourself and not speed everywhere you go.
Dr. Ornery also, the auto just adds weight and ruins your top speed.
The "film school types" are looking for jobs. I know this because I am one of those "film school types". The non film school types who nitpick are just 14 year olds who need attention. Good review
Andrew Cavett Thank you!
I love AZ and I'm from NYC
Thanx for the review and testing the not so premium model. I just wish this was a manual transmission.
That is exactly the same model I got, Color, wheels everything and I mean everything. now I have done some serious modifications to it already it is as tall as it looks in the video , I mean the wheel gap from the fender but it is good for all kind o terrains, ramps and speed bumps however Is too tall and a lower stance will make it look a lot better I am working on that too
great car to mod at a great price you still get the v8 hemi and great fuel economi on the road
Dam that color looks good.
Great review! Curious how you did the audio on the car. Was it a GoPro with an additional mic? I have never done that and I am thinking of driving across country and recording some of it. Thanks!
Thank you. We use a Sennheiser wireless plugged into the GoPro
where would you rank the dodge challenger as well as the charger in reliability? Cuz I've been looking into them for a few months now, but I don't want somethin that's gonna spend more time on cinderblocks than actually on the road, especially for occasional long road trips & everyday daily stuff.
Plus I don't know how ford fairs as far as reliability either. I would stick with chevy cuz of my experience with them, but my parents really don't like chevy at all.
So which between chevy, dodge & ford you believe is best?
Where did you film this? It looks like the Superstition Mountains area in AZ. Good review. I love my '13 R/T+. Over 27k miles and no problems. Love the new interior for 2015.
ranlive1 Correct on location. We shoot in various parts of the Phoenix area.
1971 miles. Sooo badass!!
What is the overall quality dependability of this Dodge? What I'm trying to say is when will I be taking it into the shop for big engine problems?
great review. move the interior GOPRO once in awhile next time. we wana have that behind the driver view. just a suggestion
I like the nod to the 71 Challenger with the grille and taillights, to me it makes the 2015 that much better as far as looks goes. I just wish Chrysler would tighten up on the reliability issues. It's good to see them harken back to what they did best in the old days. Mopar or no car!
yeah they have deffinately gave up there title as one of the most reliable companies out there in the last 2 decades but honestly i bought myself an RT the second i test drove it, dealer fitted a borla exhaust and man it is mean
Love your hat!
Great video! Thank you
Looking to buy a 2015 challenger next month
Good video
Good video! My R/T+ w/Super Track Pak should be here this week. I'll toss together a video soon after I receive it.
As an aside, I had a Mustang as a rental recently and WOW that was fun. My "Mopar or no car" family gave me no end of grief while I had it.
Keep up the good work on the videos!
Is the "Super Track Pak" the "Scat Pak" or are those 2 different performance packages Mopar has to offer?
BKSN1P3R
Scat Pak is really another model challenger. It goes like this now. Dodge Challenger, Dodge Challenger RT, Dodge Challenger SRT 392, Dodge Challenger RT Scat Pak, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
V8Supercar1 Scat Pak R/T is below the SRT 392 in the line-up.
Doolin Danger
Is the SRT 392 the model that now has 485HP?
They both have the 485 horse 392 Hemi, the SRT though has a few more goodies (mostly in suspension parts) which will help it on a road course but not at the drag strip... the SRT 392 is about $5000 more than the Scat Pack.
good reveiw
Nice mature review, not like these tuner snobs who rag this car on performance and weight and are just narrow-minded jackasses focused only on power (compensation issues, no doubt). The R/T definitely on this family man's short list and that list is Mopar only. Tired of GM and Ford.
hey man let me start 10 IVs on your arm. look at those vascular veins! i'm jealous!
unfortunately the 5.7's low output is mated to a heavy body thus giving it a slow acceleration time and low mpg compared to other lighter v6 models. whats more unfortunate is that they didnt change this even though the v6 mustang could trample it on the drag strip and the track.
the only things i commend the challenger is the rear passenger space, interior quality, real muscle car retro styling, and the beautiful noise that 5.7 v8 makes.
Seems like a really nice car. I still like the stang better though.
hate when ppl read a stat sheet with a monotone voice. that being said i appreciate the honest review.
Michigan!!!!
Very good review considering you are a mustang guy, no bias, very honest I'm a Mustang guy as well but my brother is a Challenger fan, I've been helping him shop out an R/T should he get a manual or an auto?
Kilion Duke automatics are faster but having a manual is way more enjoyable I have a manual 2015 rt and still got a 5.2 0 to 60 with out power shifting idk what the auto will do
@@Titoburritobandito have you done donuts or burnouts since you have the lsd
@@aidanlarson2416 I have a widebody scatpack now they like to break loose lol. Not really a fan of shredding tires. Still got it in a manual though so I have fun with it. The only negative thing I've experienced with either is gas prices.
Ford Mustang EcoBoost or challenger 6 cylinder what's your pick I'm torn between the two
if i wasnt going for max performance id get the ecostang, I just think they look better.
+koopagabla lol the ecoboost has more power than the v6 challenger and mustang
+Ashton Sumner more power but sounds like a vacum cleaner... 4c
Yellt, Good For Yoy. accessible grin What's your opinion about thbt !!
no cd player? that's messed up. I have a tape deck in a 2006 model year dodge for cryin out loud.
Nice review. Not many r/t reviews that aren't scat pack out there right now.
Nice hat
It’s Heisenburg
I'm from Texas and I've seen a lot tons of cowboy hats and let me say...... He doesn't sound like they do. Smart and fun to listen to no homo. Yea yea yea I already hear the steer and Queen comments blah blah blahhh.
I'm interested to see how this new automatic holds up over time. I mean 8 speeds, kinda new territory, I know Chrysler has been having issues with those new 9 speeds, I believe it has to do with the software though...
Yah true. But chevy and ford are working on a 10 speed together. So we will see how all this works out.
it is pretty nice i might say only downside is alot of downshift and you can feel it in the brake pedal
Kieran they might downshift every few gears
Personally prefer cloth seats, black leather looks good for about a day after cleaning it and then it starts to get dusty again.. Drive you nuts if your an ocd kind of person
+sleepybird09 who takes kids on a road trip in their Dodge Challenger?
+sleepybird09 I get your point though... I currently have leather in the car I own but I've still always liked the look and feel of decent quality cloth seats better
Yeah, but I'd take that over water damage and a shit stain from the prior owner. My former neighbor used to shit herself regularly when trying to rip the perfect fart. She only drove Kias but now I'm cautious.
Do a Camaro next!
soon
Would you recommend this as a first car?
fuck yes bro i would lol just be careful its alot of power and has alot of road presence
@@kieronicsmoke fuck yeah, I slide this big bitch around corners
"chairs" lmao
The vains in your arms are insane
Liked the video, but no mention of headroom considering the hat he was wearing :) I'm joking of course.
who care how heavy it is its bad ass n i want one
paul visneau it's bad ass I just got one couple months ago a 2012 RT. I feel like a kid again driving it. but not that I look at the other videos I kinda wish I got the shaker or scat pack
hey i have one of those
I'm a former film student AND a muscle car guy. O_o
Is there a right handed dodge challenger for Indian highways???
Logesh Bharath nah. It's a North American vehicle and any Challenger in India is an import.
Why my guy look like the dude from 2 & a half men ?
Nice and thorough review, but the guy's faux voice inflection as he read his notes on the car really irked me; so much so I had to comment about it.
Hi there, You're The Greatest. cough quilt !!
Bob Ross over here.
It's raining
This man is gonna crash one of these days he keeps looking at thr camera for too long
nice the 2016 better
I hade a 2010 RT Classic Plum Crazy and traded it in for a 2012 RT Classic Stinger Yellow... Hmmm... I think I now wanna trade it for a 2015 RT Classic, but what color???
Stevenimich Archangel Sounds like ya like the bright colors too. Try Sublime Green!
Stevenimich Archangel Dude you gotta go look at the sublime green, the new shaker model coming out soon will have that color as well, looks so sexy
Hahaha he's like, "idgaf"
challengers are better than mustank
DAT ZIJN TEMINSTE AUTO'S
LOL!! when you have to start your video off explaining that it is raining when it is evident in the video. You know stupid people just can't put that together. I literally laughed my ass off when you said "save your comments" I can only imagine the idiots that can't seem to understand it is raining.
why a cowboy driving a challenger? stick to ford pick up!!
throw the dumb hat out the window and keep your eyes on the road lol.
this guy is a newb. its sunny in some shots and raining in the others. fail!
Stinky Potatoes so?
Idk I dont like it
this is bs
