I test drove the '15 392 Scat Pak Challenger w the 6 speed ( I own an 09 R/T 5.7 with the 6 speed and 3.92 rear gear) It was amazing how far the car has evolved. Much nicer seats, much fewer rattles, much less use of crappy plastics, much better fit and finish.. and a whole lot more power! While I didn't care for all the electronics-- a whole lot to 'do' before setting off, I did like the seemingly endless ways 1 could set the car up.. and he's right. Pick 1 of the 3 drive modes, and you get 3 different cars! Pretty wild! 1 thing I really didn't like was the round ball shifter handle. I much prefer the retro pistol grip in my 09. 1 thing I found odd, was that the 3.92 rear gear with limited slip, was replaced with a 3.08 set. However, that 392 Hemi didn't seem to care. This thing would light up the rear tires with just a glance at the gas peddle. Brakes and handling were light years better than my 09's while the ride was just firm enough. That BTW was what kept me from buying the original 6.1 SRT back in 09.. the ride was terrible, and it only came with soft 3 season tires. But mileage kept me from buying the new car.. I drove it for 2 days, and no matter how nice I was to it, I never saw better than 17 in mixed driving. My 09 gets 18 city, and as much as 27.5 mpg on long trips at 70mph. That's w/o the MDS also. But 15's still a heck of a buy. And to me, still a real beauty!
seriously…….the 392 SRT is hands down, THE best Muscle car out there right now. Best power, best interior, best exterior, and man, either the 6 speed or that marvel 8 cylinder tranny will beat any competitor…..
I have seen this car in person and it is really quick and agile. It was darting in and out of stop and go traffic. I watch these reviews and think man the hellcat is what you want but these car is so agile in person I was shocked one and 2 said I want one. By the time I got kinda close and traffic freed up the driver was pulling so effortless I couldn't get a close up but recognize it wasn't the hellcat
@@blackice7408 I wish they came out with the Barracuda. But, now that Sergio Marconi died I don't think it will ever happen. Always good to have a muscle car though.

@@Nicktheguy24 So does the Scat Pack. Brembo is standard. They also have SRT tuned suspension with the Track Pak option. And dynamic suspension is an option. The Scat Pack is literally the SRT392 now. Same trim and same equipment, standard, as of 2019. The SRT392 was killed off because the Scat Pack exists.
I feel there recorded 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times were much slower than most places had them tested. I had a challenger scat pack and I would say 0-60 in 4.4 sec and 1/4 mile in 12.4-12.6 sec @ 113-114mph are more common.
Also ran? Check your sales numbers as the 2015 Challenger has out sold Camaro a couple of months and just missed a time or two other months. No also ran anymore.
OHHHHHHHH... I just want SRT 392.. and what the heck is going on with the US and Canadian options?! again they load up the car and don't give us a set of options?! and plus I got close to 30 mpg with my 2012 392 6spd...
Im 6'5" and i own a Challe R/T plus with a Manual. Its just enuf room for me. I dont know why Mustang and especially the Camaro's interior are build so tight. I cannot comfortably fit in the Mustang nor Camaro with an Automatic Trans, let alone a Manual
Made to fade?... are people planning on keeping the car for 25 years? All that stuff is replaceable too.. Guess it depends on how long you want to own it.
Ever since the 60's I've been a Ford guy, but when the Dodge Challenger was first offered, I was born again MOPAR!! lol. Well, for that model and the 'Cuda' anyway. This old Baby Boomer Muscle Car guy is glad to see that they have more then returned! If these American Muscle Cars don't turn boys into real men then nothing will!
i was actually just reading up on the new chassis coming up and from what i read it should be incorporated around 2018 2019, now just imagine the power output in the next few years with a substantially ligher chassis (3800) lbs. by the sounds of it the chassis will be made from aluminum and the body will have more carbon fibre
+teller121 Because some of us are men and dont want a car marketed to the female population. The design says it all. The camaro looks like a tuburon's big brother but is more of a tranny. Camaro thinks its a man, but is really a woman /etc.
You do realize that the Challenger and Charger are in the mid-sized class and that they were originally never designed or meant to compete directly with the Mustang/Camaro compact-sized pony cars, don't you?
rick ingram yeah maybe the GN stock would run that on a cold New England October evening....run it at 90F in June and maybe it breaks into the 90's and thats a big maybe. I lived it and raced them and owned one - as did many of my friends when they were brand new.

Not with motorweek's numbers lol...😆😄😂
JadeBlack9 One guy has his R/T 392 SP down to 12.2 so I think that is just a bit faster than you 5.0 LOL
455cutlass I have a 13 SRT charger and my best numbers are 0-60 in 4.2 and a 12.3 qtr mile.

Im an import guy (i iwn an Evo 9), but if I were to get a muscle car it would definitely be an SRT 8 392 Hemi, its just too good.
The $38,495 2015 Challenger RT Scatpack has the same 392 engine that makes 485HP just like the SRT model. ;o)
Jerome Burrasca the srt 392 has brembo breaks and adjustable suspension

Because their track is treated like shit, so the cars they test can't grip up for shit
Always subtract about 0.5 seconds from motorweeks 0-60 and 1/4 times and add about 3-5 mph 1/4
I have never heard of or seen a Challenger with a faded bumper does anyone know if this is a real concern? I am looking into buying an SRT 392.
its too early....but if you look at the old Jeep Wranglers (90's to early 2000's) the gray bumper areas are fading (whitish like)....

Till it literally collapses, just falls apart in the middle of the highway on my way to my 98th birthday party.
Wouldn't that make it 4 engine options with the Hellcat engine? ;-)
more power than the original 426 Hemi!

My SRT 392 has the right tires and eats Fords and shits Chevys!!!
Now this is a Car worth having SRT or R/T scatpack...nothing less
I ❤️my 💪🏻 car
Jeep Wrangler gray 🤪 got to find some fault ... what car today doesn’t have some plastic
Whoever drives the cars for MotorWeek can't drive for shit. I can do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds.
its the shit track maintenance ,they got about 10 years of tire residue sitting on that shit, no wonder these cars can't hook up and get a decent 0-60
Hellcat
Beautiful inside and out but man for 470hp its not all that quick.
fair enough.
H Mack Time to get rid of the LX platform for the challenger

it takes a bigger 392 Hemeroid to still lose to a 5.0!

I wonder why their "Build Your Own" doesn't allow twin black stripes on sublime green? Real bummer. Too much green by itself.
what kind of proper sports car doesn't have a proper e-brake
thickthighsluv it's not a sports car it's a muscle car and that's why it has a regular e brake like it's supposed to have.
Coop427 the originals didn't have a handbrake and neither does this.

114-115 trap speed 12.4-12.5 is more typical for a stock 8auto 392. The run here was garbage.
