Same year here too! Only 30k miles on it. I beat a amg sls either 16-18. He was right by the passenger door , so it’s not like I gapped him. But even the AMG driver was surprised lol he thought it was a scat pack.
I’m in a 6-speed rt.. I believe you’re getting two different experiences when choosing between auto and manual. Having manual feels authentic and somewhat nostalgic. Can’t say I’d feel the same way in a 10 speed auto with the power that these cars have. Just an opinion, and I love the videos.

So far it’s the most fun I’ve ever had driving a car and I’ve had fox bodies , GTOs , a 900hp 2008 GT500 and even a over 400hp 2015 VW GTI ( super quick) all in manuals But nothing has compared to that Hellcat and that supercharger whine!
I remember being on a test drive for one of these. Absolute unit. More manageable power versus the Hellcats. Would be the one I would buy if I got a challenger.
The Hellcat's power is manageable if you know how to use it. The problem is, a lot of people get Hellcats and other Supercharged cars not knowing how to drive them. You can't go full throttle on any of these High low torque cars and expect to keep traction. Even my Scat Charger when I had it would break the tires if You tried to go too much throttle off the line.
The word I'd use is "useable" as no one really needs 700 plus horses on a daily drive. If you're someone who goes to the track, it makes more sense to get the HC over a 392. Even though I don't daily drive my SP, I could see myself doing so in a world where gas prices were back to normal.
@@marqj301 if you want to get technical you don't need more than 200hp. Having 700hp on tap is great for merging and overtaking, I feel safer driving a 700hp car than I did driving my old Nissan Versa.

SRT model didn't sell well since everyone went with the Scats. Thats why just a couple years later they quietly killed off the SRT 392 trim as it didn't make sense.
Slightly true, they got rid of the SRT 392 packages because the scats were cheaper and the insurance for SRT 392 is more expensive than a scatpack , ALTHOUGH the same HP and engine , they’re not the same car . An SRT 392 will gap 1 car length of a scatpack both stock.
Great video. I’m glad to see a relatively recent drive with this particular era of the Challenger. The SRT392 was a step between the Hellcat and the Scat Pack at that time. It was essentially replaced with the widebody SP in that price point. I had a 2015 manual in white with the sepia interior and it was beautiful. The hyper black slingshot wheels with those 6 piston brembos was the best looking wheel-brake combo. I ended up trading it in for a hellcat but in all honesty the 392 was plenty of power and fun.
392s are the sweet spot in the Challenger line up for sure... The power is perfect for street muscle performance, and great for Autocross and the Dragstrip.
I hate that dodge did away with the SRT 392 for Scat Pack only. The 392 was fully loaded, very few options and was like 52k new. Now a damn loaded SP is over 60. Ridiculous.
