What an honest interesting video. You don't have to go far to enjoy the majesty and the power of the mountains. Thank you for the inspiration! It does make sense!
Honestly Damien your videos are some of the best right now, the timelapses and the perfect choices of music and of course the locations.absolutely brilliant mate, keep up the great work
Another brilliant video Damian, it's because of you me and my 4 year old son have started wild camping. Your an inspiration mate keep it up and hopefully will get to meet you at the northeast bushcraft meet if your going
Another cracking video Damian what a beautiful place never ever been to the lakes before but is on my to do list as the scenery is beautiful mate thanks for sharing Mate hope to meet you soon atb crash😁
Right Damien I'm a busy family man who works hard and rarely has any spare time, when I do I'm outdoors with my family. This inevitable means I hardly watch much TV, so I've made the sensible decision to ditch sky and the only media I'll be watching is your channel, no pressure like lol. More fishing n camping please hahaha great stuff again, atb Mark
I didn’t see any wellies for flowering Flossie after midnight 😂😂 cracking Vid this is well up there as bein one of my faves. I think I’ll be puttin it on the solo list to do. Did the “priest hole” oooer more tea vicar the other week. It’s up on dove crag near Patterdale. Great place for a wild camp have a check on the vid if you get chance ATB Damien master at work as always. Steve 😎👍
I've been to the Priests Hole once before on a lovely walk up past the waterfalls on Dovedale beck, didn't do a camp but can imagine having to share the cave with other people like a bothy so that puts me off. Will checkout your video, ATB
Fell Wanderer it’s a great place and yes had to share. But to be honest nice bunch of people. Out of all my Wildcamps I much prefer solo trips like the escapism. Trouble is I feel obliged with friends now to do a trip with them on occasion and that takes some of my time away. The wife has no interest and there’s only so much you can get away with 😂😂😂
Nice one Damian ,I love the lakes some great footage and banter as usual ,and you looked lovely in the fading sun just like the bronze god that you are atb Paul
Fantastic video, beautifully edited. The fades and transitions, the time-lapses, perfectly matched music. Blimey, I could wax lyrical for ages. Brilliant work! Atb to you.
Cracking video Damian, done this last night, following on from a camp at Bowness Knott last year. Thanks very much for the video, really helped with locations. Looking for more in the North East
@@Fell_Wanderer please keep the wild camp videos coming, enjoying all of them so it's great to have just discovered the channel. I'm hoping to get out in Wooler this weekend.
You're a very knowlegable guy and your vids are always fantastic. Hope to see you in camp Bob once this pandemic lockdown bollocks is all over cheers Damien
Everybody's gotta come from somewhere.........but being a Geordie - You KNOW it makes sense !.............another fine show of natures beauty,....well done !
Stunning sceneries! Love your time laps stuff! Really appreciate it!... And yes, there's no reason to make all that effort in climbing the highest or hiking the longest... If some want such, I'd say they kind of miss out on really enjoying the outdoors.
Cracking video Damian stunning views I will be heading down there for a wildcamp soon one question mate what is the best speed for a time laps ok two questions when ya coming to visit the crew a camp BOB be good to meet up again atb jimmy 😎 😎
The best speed for a timelapse is 1 second interval because it can always be speeded up in post. I've done 10 sec timelapse and realised this was too fast and when slowed down looks bad. If you want to get things right first time then 1sec interval is good for slow clouds and setting up camp benny hill style lol, 2 sec = fast clouds, 5/10 secs sunset and sunrise. I will be at camp bob from next weekend the 13th at the earliest if John and Gary invites me
Fell Wanderer thanks Damien I will put that information in my note book so I don't forget it 😂😂 there is a load of lads going down at the weekend I'm away with the wife glampin in the trailer tent up Craster so will be doing a recce for a wildcamp on the coast when there haha if you make it to bob enjoy mate atb jimmy 😎 😎
Great vid mate . , thank you.. I was up on one of the Preseli 'peaks' on the eve of the Solstice (this one just over a thousand foot up) and from there I could see Ireland , the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia ! Height really doesn't matter ! Breathe that view Man !
I'll be camping in those Galloway hills in a couple of weeks. Can't wait. One of my favourite places on earth, I'll have to go farther south at some point by the looks of it though
Great spot like. It’s true no need to go high or mad to get the views. (Which it’s all about btw) cracking skies and good craic. A Fell wanderer classic. More tea vicar.
Great stuff mate on getting the message out to get amongst it. Top spot and your right. You don’t need to go to extremes to get the job done and get the views. Love your vids 🐑🐑
Damion good trip as usual .The meths stove needs a little mod to doing to it.Only ever make the pan support rim 25ml max above the outer container. Much more economical on meths too.Waldo.
Sorry Damion, yes 25mm of course. If I had your address I could post you one of my burners (free of course), All my models will boil 500ml water from cold with 25ml. max meths in 5 or 6 min,. You know it makes sense .Ha ha. Walwo
Andy Wardle Emmerdale is a long running soap opera in Britain but it didn’t go back to the Stone Age, they didn’t have telly’s back then that’s the joke.
Paul Fitzpatrick no tellys in the Stone Age? Really?? May I direct you to a documentary called “the flintstones” You can see it all there. It’s all true as well.
Another cracking video and an interesting theory on the use of stone circles as clocks/calendars , be careful when using those grass mounds for a pillow , some of them can be ants nests😟😟😟 , ATB.
Another good one, well done. What timing do you have your time lapse on? I have tried mine on a few different settings but they don`t seem to run as smooth.
for fast moving clouds 1 sec interval, this can always be speeded up later in Premiere Pro if too slow. Sunset/sunrise 10 sec. For starlapse if there is some light present like the moon I use 20sec exposure, iso 200, interval continous. For really dark skies 30sec exposure, iso 200, interval continous. For evening and early morning the auto function allows up to a 2 sec exposure which is good so gives good light until it gets too dark an hour maybe after sunset then you have to change over to nightlapse mode. Lower iso the better as it means less noise, not sure why yours isn't smooth, try continous as an interval and check that your sdcard is fast enough to capture the footage, needs to be a class 10
The question is, how do we know they got the actual stones. Could have substituted and you wouldn't know it. You're funny as usual, highly entertaining. Great camp.
For that camp I parked near Ennerdale Bridge at NY 08527 15425 and the carpark below Bowness Knot at NY 10984 15375 to access the fells to the north. Not sure where bleach green carpark is?
Not tried the picket stove, I've used the trangia and home made stoves. Got a penny stove I like, its good on fuel but a hassle to prime and get going. Need to try a few more stoves but not sure if I like meths as its terrible in high winds, may just take out a petrol stove for the hills and be done with it
I know what you mean. I use my penny stove in a pocket stove as a windshield/pot support. I find gas too bulky and petrol too heavy but cant quite get it right with meths. Tried and twig stoves?
A coastal camp like Duridge Bay would be the easiest for a first time or any local woodland near your home incase your tent/gear isn't up to the task if there is bad weather
I stick with the old faithful hexy stoves, for a few reason's their cheap, light and you can't spill your hexy tabs all over your bag, and its tried and tested by millions of guys in all the worlds armies
so calming & relaxing......till I woke up ta flossie & her boyfriends,& lips & & assholes everywhere...it took 2 beers to calm myself! Beautiful Filming Mr Fell!
Ah yes , a boy , a mountain and his Floosie . Was on PBS that there was horrible sounds of a sheep getting attacked from that mountain . Do they have security cam's up there ? If so your shit be hurt'n :) Well maybe not as bad as poor Floosie !
That would be more convenient. I may get something like that later on if the meths stove doesnt do it for me. You can get adaptors that fit onto those cheap gas bottles costing around £1.25, used in them cheap camping stoves.
mountain lakes are cold even in summer but you do get some people playing in the water. There are some picnic spots on the lake and I have seen people there
Thanks for the Fantastic Veiws. I think your meths stove is too wide and too shallow. I use a the Fancee feast version from you tube and find it concentrates the flame on the pot a little better.
I need to redesign the stove, it isn't perfect like you mentioned. Im not sure if we can get the fancy feast tins here in the UK, will need to find something similar. Thanks for your comment, atb
What an honest interesting video. You don't have to go far to enjoy the majesty and the power of the mountains. Thank you for the inspiration! It does make sense!
