    is it okay just to remove the can, leave the brackets and everything inside, and fit in the wafer LED and put the junction box of on top of sheetrock some place, is there a fire hazard?

      Hello! Thank you for your question! When it comes to electrical work, safety is paramount. Generally, the installation process for LED wafer lights involves removing the old can light housing completely, including the brackets, to ensure a proper fit and secure installation. When left, it could obstruct airflow and trap heat, which can be a fire hazard.
      If unsure, always a good idea to call a certified electrician and consult about your concern. Have a wonderful day!

    Not sure why you need a template?

    • @ThisAndThatTube
      @ThisAndThatTube  2 месяца назад

      Hello, thank you for watching! Without the template, the drill could wobble (I know because I tried it already!) , create a mess, and even pose safety risks. If I didn’t already have holes from my old lights, the template wouldn't be needed, as the center piece would hold securely and guide the drilling process accurately.

    Just use LED bulbs, if not, you can get recessed LED lights that just fit right into ur exist cans

      That is very true haha, I for sure could have done that instead and made my life easier. :) Have a wonderful day!

    Why not just use the upgrade bulb kit just screws In unless u have the fluorescent style then u just delete the ballast and use the current wires as line wires and instal the kit

      Very true, but I had to use extra LED lights lying around somewhere. ;)

      My can light had a pull string on it. The whole pull string assembly was shot. It was so old the mechanism crumbled and rendered when whole bulb socket useless. My only option was to scrap the entire old can light and replace with new can or new flat led light.

    This is why recessed lighting AND led lighte are not practical for real life, especially if attic access is limited. Bring back using light bulbs!

      Thank you for sharing your perspective! Totally, it sure is a lot of work, but I find the end result with LED lights to be worth the effort. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video. Have a wonderful day! :)
