Lolla 23 was in the middle of the summer in Chicago, so when you said that it looks hot, yes...about 35 degrees (95 freedom units) and they were on stage in early afternoon. Also, they played for another full hour for the aftershow.
Thank you for your reaction and glad to see you again, I’m sure everyone understand that life has other priorities than making youtube reactions. As a favorite I can’t give you one, I prefer to listen to Band Maid per album if possible and the songs kind of belong in the context of the album. But I did rediscover Alone and Bubble, both are great songs imo. Have fun! :)
So great to see you. Yeah Kami likes layering in disident minor tones and keys that are meant to be uncomfortable to the ear. That makes wonder what sort of Devil's Playground you're about to enter as she launches into her solo's. And you're correct in your assessment of her evolution. Unseenworld, the Sense Single, Unleash EP were all born out the flames of the intense feelings of frustration and disappointment brought about by the Pandemic. Its easy to see that now that we've come out of that she's writing songs like, Magie, Brightest Star, Bestie ect... Just a little background on Hate? + The lyrics were written by Saiki supposedly about her friend J-Pop Sensation Lisa, who was publicly humiliated by her husband, by being caught having an affair during the Pandemic. Saiki is said to have written those lyrics in support of her friend. And also Yes, at the 10th Anniversary Yokohama Areana, that the Hate? Clip is from, they unveiled new Battle Armor (Stage wear) with only Miku still adhereing to the Maid Astethtic. **Addendum - Two of Band -Maid's most recent original releases Shambles and Protect You were commissioned for the animes Kengan Ashura and Grendizer U respectively
Always interesting to hear your "inner voice". I agree with most of your comments. As for the into/outro of Protect You, I also thought it didn't fit. Then I realized the song is for an anime on giant robots fighting. So I see the intro as a call to arms, and the outro as a victory cry.
Top 5, since you're asking, in no particular order: Hate, Corallium, Without Holding Back, Manners, Secret Maiko Lips, Blooming, After Life, Daydreaming... Don't feel bad about your late night math abilities.
If you want to hear them be experimental, Blackhole and Giivanni are good picks. I’m not sure they’ll be your favorites, but they definitely push their boundaries a lot.
Regarding the 'muffled' sound, yoru headphones will certainly matter, but I find the mixing of the studio versions of some Band Maid songs to be a bit off (can we say 'Freedom'?). However, another thing that 's likely affecting the sound quality is the RUclips compression. I'm not sure on the technical specifics, but whatever RUclips does seems to frequently (pun intended) mess with the dynamic range of the audio. This is particularly obvious on Dreamcatcher videos, but likely affects everything to some degree. The CD and iTunes versions pack more punch.
In regards to your comment in their song “Protect You” where you said about the end where Saiki is closing the song with her singing Ohh lalalalalala, you said “that part seemed out of place”. Did you hear how complex that song is and how much is going on? Every note, guitar lick, drum sound, and vocal harmony are written with intention. Nothing they write is out of place!
Welcome back!
Thanks for reacting to Band Maid. It helps spread the word about their awesomeness.

Blooming as your favorite is a great choice 😀
Blooming is my favorite too

Thx, Kam!

You need to see the live version of HATE? from Yokohama Arena. It's intense.
Is Saiki pretty? 16:38 Thanks for answering
The Lolla stage was very hot, and Maids performed for an hour.
Saiki collapsed after she retreated to the stage side due to heatstroke.
Thanks, Andy. They'll probably get touring again after the new album is out.
