Good how to vid Steve, many thanks for putting the time in to make this available to us the public. Very informative video on how to wire a 13amp double socket. Loving the screw cutters, what a great idea.

Your cooker switch is likely to be different as there is usually a supply in cable (comes from the fuse box/consumers unit) and a load cable that connects to the cooker. This means that there will be individual positions for each cable. Also, the cables are much thicker so it can be more difficult to manoeuvre.
I guess the next video should be a cooker isolator switch 😁👍🏼

@@JPSElectricalServicesBristol Thank you it's the cooker switch on the wall above the cooker not behind the cooker. Thank you so much I'd love that.

@@LadyParPar is it the type that also has a socket built into it? One large switch to turn the cooker on and off and another to turn the socket on and off?

@@JPSElectricalServicesBristol no just a switch on and off there is no socket on there with it. It's vertical and metal hope this helps.

      @@LadyParPar Thank you.
There will be termination points for each of the cables. The supply cable will have its own Live and Neutral terminals and the load side will also have its own live and neutral terminals. The earth may have their own but there may also just be a single point.
The reason for the different terminals is because when this switch is turned off, it must break the contacts by a minimum of 3mm to ensure the power does not reach the appliance. If it does not achieve this then anyone working on the appliance could be at risk of being seriously injured or worse.
Do you need to replace the switch because it is not working correctly?
