They are showing a simplified short installation. Issues are left out. It's a bit more complex than shown here.

Video was helpful overall - but the door handle template doesn't work with the screen door that it came with (at least on our front door) - I had to dig up an old school paper template from days or yore. People need to be advised to really check measurements when doing this part. Also - I stupidly listened to the instructions on trimming the bottom of the side panel instead of following my instincts to leave it be - now I have a 2 inch gap between the side panel and the extension panel (I can't find a phone number to get a replacement side panel).

We are distressed to hear that a miss-cut has left a gap in your installation and confirm that this should not be the case if the instructions and video are followed correctly. Please contact the retailer or dealer where you purchased the door for additional assistance.

@@HelpMeInstallIt Same thing happened with me. It's no fluke. The instructions are just wrong.

@@HelpMeInstallIt the instructions aren't correct. A 5-year-old could design a better door. I know I could this is ridiculous.

Not great. If you install the bracket that close to the screen door, the cylinder won't allow the bracket to sit flat against the screen door frame. Also, as I pointed out (but was since deleted) if you cut the hinge channel as per the instructions, you'll be left with a gap between the hinge channel and the sill expander, because 2 3/16" is too much to cut. Lastly, the screw provided to secure the bracket that retracts the screen just spins in the oblong hole and won't hold the bracket tight enough to test the door.
