Doing all three records is essential to understanding this band and developing the level of appreciation for them as the music warrants. Would love to see you run through them.
I discovered this band on their third album and I have an amazing appreciation for the masterpiece that is Take me Back to Eden. I do like some of their other songs off other albums like Sugar and Alkaline. And a few others I can’t name off the top of my head but TMBTE is a definite masterpiece regardless of what past tracks you have heard from them
So the three albums "Sundowning, TPWBYT, and TMBTE are a trilogy concept. They tell an overarching story across the music and there are certain songs that call back to previous albums etc. Being the lyric junkie that you are, I think you would be fascinated by the interconnection between the songs as a whole. Listening to the beginning with the EPs and starting through all three albums are the best way to intake the journey. Either way we are glad to have you here with us. Worship.
Yes, the trilogy of albums tell a story kind of like Queensryche did with OPERATION MINDCRIME albums. To understand the story it's best to start with the beginning. Like a movie trilogy, you lose so much context if you skip the beginning movie and start with the last movie.... definitely worth listening to the beginning and the lyrics really grab your attention. Vessel is a poet and has the gift of expressing feelings and emotions better than most. The distortion at the beginning of this song is a continuation of the static/distortion of the last song in This Place Will Become Your Tomb MISSING LIMBS. Ending one album and blending it into the beginning of this album. Genius!!!
Will Ramos was on the Charismatic Voice's channel, and doing a reaction video to "Take Me Back to Eden". He started theorizing the album was about a relationship that started well ("Chokehold") then progressively got worse, so Vessel is first asking, then pleading, then demanding to go back to Eden by the end (also why he says "I will go beyond the path of reason" at the beginning, then is screaming "I've traveled far beyond the path of reason" by the end, as if he's been sacrificing and is spent). No clue how much of that is true, but it was cool to hear Will theorize on it.
Insomnia has a chokehold. We think that we will miss something or prevent something from happening the longer we’re awake. We just become more careless. The repeated bends remind me of the monotonous breathing trying to sleep.
The mad part is there is lyrics from this song in take me back to Eden, but they are as backing vocals and are really faint, which ties the songs together in my opinion
turn my walls to gold to bring you home again, another song on the album is aqua regia. aqua regia is an acid that dissolves gold, he explains his " lover " as aqua regia. but im guessing he is saying he will do whatever it takes no matter the cost to bring her or " it " back.
If you didn’t notice too the lyrics at the beginning are used near the ending of the song Take Me Back To Eden when the vocals get faded more into the blend
Everything is actually about a past relationship... and toxic relationship. One that you still crave and how it tears you apart, but you hold that bond... hit the he rises above it.
The first four lines of this track are blended into the end of Take Me Back To Eden. Usually people's eyes light up when they recognize the lyric. The first track on Sundowning has lyrics brought forth in the last song on TMBTE "Euclid". There are so many easter eggs from this band to keep their content interesting and engaging on top of the emotion. I would finish your trip through their latest album then start at the beginning on Sundowning to get the full story. Not to mention the acolytes of Sleep Token will run the view count up for you.
It took me months of listening to these albums non stop all the way through over and over before I realized there were call backs to other songs and it changed everything for me. I’m still listening over and over but now that I understand how they tie together it gives me goosebumps.
The album is "take me back to Eden" that distortion has birds and animal sounds. You've reacted to the title track before,go listen to it again after this😊 All the songs on this album interact with each other in some way.
I'm sure you've been told by now that they aren't singing about God, but rather a god called Sleep. Alos, you said most people tend to believe we weren't made by accident, and I just wanted to let you know that there are countries out there that are mostly ateist/agnostic. Like the nordic countries, i.e Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. I think you generally have more religious people in the US compared to most other western countries. Just a sidenote! No hate tho ofc, each to their own :)
Tbh man ive seen some reactors falling of the Sleep Token Train because listening from the starting record is a long task in my opinion you should do the latest album first because it is their best and then go back to the earlier stuff if you feel like it
When a woman hurts you so bad she gets a religion and 3 studio albums written about her.

Agree 💯

The deep dive is worth it. Both personally and for your channel. Great songs and great content.
To Vessel the singer.. his goddess Sleep has him by the throat. He has to live for her to receive all this fame and fortune. ❤❤❤
Fucking WORSHIP!!!! Loving these videos man! ❤️ Sleep Token is somethin’ else. definitely react to some of their live performances too.

This band has lore that is just meeeesmerizing. And after hearing all these I’d love for you to see where it began with Thread the Needle. ❤❤❤❤

I’ve mentioned it on other songs where they do that. But I don’t know if I did in this one
Please go back hell yeah
A pleasant surprise. Worship!
I’m glad to see you have gone back to the beginning, I’m working my down your lis oldest to newest
4:44 “when we were made” was probably referring his relationship with Sleep and not “humans”
