Anybody else ever get a speeding ticket while listening to this song!
The jam band in heaven just got more heavenly, RIP Dickey!
Lol
Way to keep a good thought.
These guys set the Standard of Southern Rock!!! This music changed the World as soon as it hit the airwaves! Fillmore East!!!!!
There will never be a greatest rock band like that I feel blessed to have seen them live over a hundred times
RIP Duane,Berry,Gregory,Butch,Dickey,Woody
Question for ya? What band has 4 guitar players listed as top 100 rock guitar players? That’s right my favorite band of all time The Allman Brothers Band. What a pleasure it was being a fan.
He told me at his mom's house when he saw this video after he played Hall of Fame it scared him and embarrassed him and that's when his sobriety started for the last time. Rest in peace Greg Duane and Geraldine (Mama A)
I sure miss 1972. We got lucky.
For anyone who knows how they played this song back then, Dickey's nod to Gregg was when he normally does a piano solo. Gregg was probably confused as to where he was in the song, seeing how he admitted how drunk he was. Dickey was covering for Gregg, not trying to cut him off. Dickey might have done some mean things, but this is not one of them.
I can't say anything about Gregg here. I finally got sober myself. I do love and miss him. RIP Brother...
No dirt on this legendary southern bluesy rock band.. they are all fabulous musicians...
This was the night that changed, Greg Allman, he was highly intoxicated, probably still grieving Duane, Rockin Roll Hall of Fame probably brought up the very beginning of all that Became the Allman Brothers, Greg Cleaned up after all them years, Rip, Greg, Butchy, Allen, ❤️⤴️🆙🙏🦅
Overall, just glad i started listening way,way back rest in peace brothers Howard Duane Allman 1946-1971
Greatest American band ever in whatever lineup they put out there. Warren wears that suit jacket like a hair suit!
In Gregory's book..he said this was a low point in his addiction...God Bless Him for getting clean. Breaks my heart to see that handsome man like this...
I was lucky enough to have seen this awesome band in Birmingham Alabama,3 times in the 90's.
Damn I sure do miss them
RIP Greg. They'll never be another you, or another band like the Allman Bros. Band.
AMEN , makes me proud to be a southerner!
they left a huge legacy and many musicians were influenced, so the road goes on ---
Gregg
The greatest US Rock and Roll Band
Supposedly seeing himself at this event was what spurred Greg to get himself some help and straighten out. RIP to one of the best voices in rock and to the best damn band ever.
Love the ABB, Warren looks like how I looked at prom
The people that gave this a thumbs down have to be deaf. Best live concert I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to many since 1970.🙌🏼✌🏼🇺🇸
I'm right with you. I love a lot of music. But in the he early eight
“People that gave this a thumbs down”……deserve to be deaf?!!!!
I was lucky enough to see a happy and sober Gregg when he recorded his back to Macon album at the Grand Opera House. It was his last performance in Macon. He was buried at Rose Hill cemetery on the day he had a concert planned in Macon in 2017. Being raised near Macon by a Macon native, the Allman Brothers are hard wired into my genetics.
Dickey & Warren both phenomenal players in their own respects.
Wow.Magic💪 Music
RIP Greg Allman ...... Your rocked it and that's all that needs to be said. LEGENDARY SOUND ...
Ya.
Band rolls you over like a Kansas tornado.
Congratulations to the band , y'all made it to the hall of fame 👍🎼🎸🎹🥁😇
I have seen Dickey many times, not only with the Allman Brothers but also with the various iterations of his own bands. Dickey never dissapoints and is surely one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time.
True musicians always have each others back!❤
Gregg is rough here I think we all know that story. just glad he made it out alive and got to jam out for another 20+ years. long live Gregg long live Duane and long live The Brothers
Holy crap.
I'd never seen this performance until tonight.
I was gobsmacked.
Amazing work by all.
Dickey is crazy talented, always true to southern rock
Wow, I can't ever remember seeing Greg that big
The ABB Turned me into a guitarist and I've had over 50 years now of playing. I LOVE THEM
no other band like them since..Thank you so Bros 💕
dickey makin' that PRS swing and sing .......duane alway said: " im the famous one but, dickey is the good one"
Today I just read the news that Gregg Allman passed away at the age of 69. He was an amazing singer and incredible musician with a bluesy and soulful vibe and I loved his work with both The Allman Brothers Band as well as his solo work. The albums Eat A Peach and Live At The Filmore were both classics and they take me back to my early childhood years in Juneau, Alaska where my dad was stationed in The Coast Guard. My dad was always a fan of The Allman Brothers and would always play their music in my household a lot. They were a great band. Gregg is now reunited with Butch Trucks, Berry Oakley and brother Duane Allman. RIP.
Dicky was on fire! Trucks knew that slide! Jaimoe and Derek were awesome and complemented each other to perfection! And even drunk and sick, Gregg still played the hell out of that Hammond!
Your comment makes me think you are drunk .
I will always love and respect this band no matter what issues any of the members may have had....great music from a bunch of legendary rockers!!!
Atta Way, Mike S. I agree. In Wiki and in a bio, it is said that Greg saw himself in this appearance at the R&R HoF, and it finally, finally gave Allman the motivation to go to rehab. We are fortunate that he did that in 1995-96. This gave us fans and his family and friends the gift of 2 more decades of him. RIP Greg Allman. 1947 - 2017.
Dickey Betts is one of the most underated guitarists of all time. Used to love to see his band play in the Tampa Bay area in the early 2000’s
Underrated by WHO?????????????????
@@harveyhagar Underrated is the most overrated and overused word these days. Dickey "sweet tone" Betts is HIGHLY rated. Who the hell can match Jessica??
@@fostexfan160 PREACH
Weird to see him with a PRS. Beautiful guitar.
@@WeshopwizardI read in a magazine that he felt Gibson wasn’t generous to him in that they were not sponsoring him or giving him any freebies. So Paul Reed Smith made him a couple of guitars (no charge) & he was like yeah these guitars are good too. Never played one myself but some claim depending on the model, that you can get both Fender & Gibson tones out of them.
Macon Georgia in the house baby!!!!
Thank God for Gregg getting sober after this. I saw the Allman Brothers Band six times from November 1995 to Dickey's last show in 2000 and twice saw Gregg and Friends. His voice improved so much after this performance.
Yeah you could tell he was really struggling here. This era of the band was really pretty great though. Warren was killing it and even after Warren they got Jack Pearson and he was equally awesome. In 96 I was 14 and my dad took me to my first ABB show and we were front row center. I was having a BLAST and Warren noticed me and I was by FAR the youngest person up front. LOL! So between songs he went to Dickey and they got a roadie to bring them an Eat A Peach shirt and they signed it and walked to the edge of the stage and pointed at me and tossed it right to me with a pick from Dickey too! I've still got both of them to this day and wouldn't take a million bucks for them. I went on to see them 5 more times after that and even met Dickey randomly in a hotel a couple of years later. I also saw the original Gov't Mule during the Dose tour and holy crap you talk about dominating! What great players the ABB introduced us to!
Dicky and Gregg are unrecognizabl, RIP GA. Always gonna love this music.
World's greatest band . Hands down.
The things people criticize...wow. I am just so grateful for the collected works of the Allman Brothers Band. Like every band, artist, musician or creative genius - they had their golden age, pinnacle, or apex of their life/career. Everyone gets old and everyone will lose what they have/had. It's amazing that Gregg Allman is still with us and that the ABB has put on thousands of great shows in the last 40 years. I am grateful to have seen them so many times - in the 70's and in the last few years.
Some people are so quick to judge from their hidden internet identity. I imagine they have little talent and have created/left nothing of much value themselves.
Can't lose what you never had
I don't think folks here are necessarily being critical, it's just more of a surprise. They've put on much better performances since this, so it's not that big of a deal.
RIP .....the GREAT GREG Allman ..... singular.
If there's a R&R heaven, then you know they got a hell of a band. He's jammin' now with Duane.
Just proves Greg could preform under any circumstances! ✌️🍑🍄
I think God only know's how much I love this line up , pure class, raw talent - feeling a song on stage and the band around you bring's out your best - what a inspiration these Guy's have been for me as a guitarist, two of best ever!
mr. Betts has a way of caressing the strings that I've never seen before.
RIP Allmans and band. The world's gonna be different without these guys, but the music will rock forever.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE ALLMAN BROTHERS. REST YE GREGG BUTCH BERRY AND DUANE
RIP Gregg Allman 😭❤Now you are an angel....✨💫✨
Blues Anni RIP Greg...❤
Wow!! I think this is the best hall of fame performance that I have ever seen!!
What a performance! Man, I love the Allman Brothers Band. Everyone shredded this song. Dickie Betts destroyed that Gibson... So did Warren Haynes.. Greg Allman... Good Lord!!!...Bravissimo!!!
Dickey was playing a Paul Reed Smith in this one. Warren always smokes though. A lot of times during this era Dickey would play a 335. I was a kid at this time and loved the ABB and Dickey made me want a 335. I eventually got one and it's hard to not think about Dickey when I'm playing it. Him and Clapton made me love those guitars.
If you focus on what you can find wrong, wrong is all you'll hear. If you listen to the music, you can enjoy it.
This Was a Great Lineup with Newer member's Haynes & Allen Woody in 1995 ~ They Came From the Dickey Betts Band ~ Dickey Also Transitioned the Toler Brothers Dangerous Dan and Frankie in Drums two Fabulous Players and We all Lived in Sarasota Florida which was some little city with some of the Best Guitar players like Chris Anderson and Greg Poulos just to name two .. I jammed with these players in small clubs in the SRQ Area and I'll Never forget Those days 1970's Thru 2000's
Gregg is one of one my favorite vocalists of all time but he missed his cues here & could barely talk. He finally decided to change course & put an end to his party days.
This was the best post line-up the Allman Brothers had since Duane and Berry.
11 years after you posted your comment, and I agree 100%.
Checking in
the song is just so energetic - just a brilliant piece for guitar
Betts is so underrated. He's awesome.
The best jamming band ever....
Allman Brothers band Forever.
Everyone has something to say about Betts.....So do I....He is one helluva player !!
And Trucks is awesome too !
And Warren Haynes can play slide guitar very well!
@@bobbyozb yes sir this is the cream of the crop.
Betts is okay, but not as good as a lot of people think And he's an asshole.......that's from seeing him in person a few times.
Laura Mounier alright but jimmy page is absolutely one of the best guitar players of the past present and future
Dicky looks as good as he plays !!
🎸🎶 😎🤘
Dedicated to all who have had one way out
These fellas played at a place from dusk till dawn would not end the concert just kept playing it was incredible!!! Place stayed open the whole time.

Gregg
I'm with you Dan. Growing up in 60's I truly appreciate that good old RAR.
dedicated to all guys who needed another way out
Best Band ever !.
I’m not ready for them all to be gone. Not taking it well
Gregg looks like he was about to die any minute. Dickey sent him a Strong message in this song. Excellent guitar work by the Great Dickey Betts. May He Rest In Heaven with the Rest of this Great Band. Amen.
These guys are really duded up.
God bless all. Faith, peace and love.🙏✌💛🙌😎😇🌍. Amen brothers
RIP Dickey!!
A performance worthy of the band.
Greg might look bad but Dickie and Warren are on fire here
Warren's understated work here, staying mostly in the shadows, seems almost effortless and just makes this version crackle.
Gregg and Dickey
Warren never fails. Dickie is on for sure. Gregg having a tough day.
Whenever they played - they COOKED. The twin guitars, twin drums (with additional percussion) and Greg singing the blues.
Man Dickie is all up in his game.
Yes
Classic band .
Long live the Allman Brothers I thank each and everyone of them for the wonderful soulful blusey southetn rock jazz sound that is forever endearing
I can't imagine who's induction performance will top this... ever.
Terrific video! Love all these guys. The best.....! So glad Greg is still around. He has so much talent. Don't count him out.......
Gregg
Thank you. 🙏♥️🙏
Mr. Betts is a very melodic guitar player.
According to band members, Dickie was impossible to deal with when he was drunk (which was most of the time). He was like the poster child for the definition of "mean drunk". When he was sober, the guy was one of the best guitarists ever. Sadly, though, those periods of sobriety were few and far between by this time.
All he needed was his little ass whooped, and he'd a been alright. I miss Duane, and Berry. To me, without them, the band was finished.
leave my DICKIE alone BOOOOY...lets talk about the music...
Jack Duffee you just hit the nail on the head 'cause that is about what Barry and Duane used to do to Dickie to keep in in line....
When Dickie switched to the PRS McCarty, I had to have one! After I bought one, he switched back to Gibsons, but that's okay. I still have the PRS.
You know, there's a stage somewhere, and you play the hell out of it: Filmore...:all those tingle-tangle i hear here: NO Heart and NO SOUL,miss you Duane; You're the real thing.BIG PERIOD Man
Goosebumps
I used to dance and go crazy to this song back in the 70's
Still do!!!!
My favorite band ever. Unfortunately this was just got a so-so performance by them. Just a year earlier at Woodstock 94 they put on a lot more sober and inspired performance.
I love the ABB for ever and ever and ever………👍😍🤩🍊🍄🎼🎤🎸🎹❤️
THIS IS AWESOME!
That was awesome.
Super great memories lake powell AZ windy mesa butch shopmen
Haven't seen Betts play this well in a looooong time. He and Warren sound great together, as does the band.
Its just great to see Dickie and Allen Woody again!!!!!!
Warren Haynes is ABSOLUTELY a fantastic slide/guitar player and well worthy of Duane's slide leads. Duane is nodding from the other side. Dickey is always ON!! ABB music will always satisfy...just PLEASE don't EVER include a keytar player.
Gotta love 'em!
