I have a feeling in the Frasier universe, Sy was Martin Crane's evil twin brother Frasier and Niles never knew about and Martin never talked about him. I remember one episode in Season 1 where he said he never had a brother. Except when his brother Walt came along later, but not Sy. Also it was interesting to see Kelsey Grammar and John Mahoney interact with each other a little in Cheers, it felt like Frasier and Martin.
Also Leland Orser was in this?! He was one of the guys talking at the end.

I wrote and published online a Frasier fanfiction story in which it's revealed that Sy Flembeck is actually Martin Crane undercover. It's called Frasier: Aspen For a Headache. Synopsis: set during this Cheers episode, Frasier takes a date into the Paul Revere Tavern in Boston (the tavern has a Revolutionary War motif), and Frasier recognizes his dad in the tavern, who for some strange reason pretends not to recognize him. He then tells Frasier that he's posing undercover as an ad executive for an agency suspected of doing something highly illegal.

Actually didn't Frasier told them his father Died? And this was before he was Shot in the Leg... Then again he was a police officer and he would've Notice his Son? Oh well maybe it's he didn't recognize his Son or Parallel Universe or An Old man who just happened to look like Martin by chance
