Eddie was a great supporting actor. John Mahoney, fantastic. The series would not have been nearly as hilarious and cherished without these 2. The Dad kept his sons anchored in what really matters in life. He exposed their pretension and made them see it, how they don't need to be that way. He would tell them that their mother was cultured and educated, like them, but had a soft heart, a great appreciation for truly loving someone without one ounce of pretension. Whenever they got in too deep because of that, his gentle but scolding outlook they always respected. Frasier's disgust of his dad's chair, getting rid of it or restoring the old material was hard to watch, Martin telling them he had such great memories in that chair. It was as if he, their mom, and those memories meaningless. Always cried at that. Martin buying Frederick that special toy Frasier did not, wrapped and ready for Frasier to give him, another great moment. Did not think this spin-off would work, but it sure did.
@lisa. That is one of my favorite episodes. It doesn't make me cry, but the one where Frasier finds out his mom had an affair sure does, just because Frasier's grief seems so real.
Years before he was on Frasier or Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Rene Auberjonois was in the cast of the sitcom Benson (1979-1986) as Clayton Endicott III, the chief of staff of Govern Gatling (played by James Noble), on the show.
Go back further for a WONDERFUL performance by Rene on the original Bob Newhart show. Played a French psychologist with a very "continental" view of married life. One of my favorite episodes, his role played with the fancy French accent. We had a French foreign exchange student in our house at the time, so every word sounded SO pretentious.
This is a bit far fetched, the dog and John Mahoney were regulars on the show. The other three, while famous on their own, only had guest roles on frasier.
At 0:58 that is Elizabeth Montgomery, not Rosemary Murphy. Other inaccuracies in this as well. Wrong Peter Casey. Misspellings. Not trying very hard to get this right.
2:40 - Alice Playten can also be heard on National Lampoon's Woodstock parody LP "Lemmings" (1973). That record also featured a young Chevy Chase, John Belushi and a pre- Spinal Tap Christopher Guest...
I always wanted to know who played “BLIX” in the movie Legend. She was one of those people who seemed familiar but you couldn’t place her. “Moose” the dog was also in a episode of ‘Tales from the crypt’… All good things must come to a end.
What about David Ogden Stiers? He was in the episode where his pompous, classy, cultured character had more in common with Frasier and Niles than their boorish but lovable dad, Martin. This has Frasier and Niles wondering if the David Ogden Stiers character was their real father. and not Martin.
I remember the character Bonnie in two very funny episode in Season 6 I think. She was Marty's new girlfriend but Frasier was trying to fix up his Dad with Roz's mother who was visiting. So he pretended she was Niles's date instead which didn't go down well with anyone.
I watched a minute and 40 seconds when I gave up ... picture of Elizabeth Montgomery wrongly inserted ... and the horrible spelling of Rene Auberjonois ... name means not even a shred of research .... not wasting my time even considering the rest of this.
Why is it sad that these folks are no more? The one true thing we all know for sure is that from the moment of our conception, we are all dying! What is sad is when someone young dies, when somebody is murdered, these dead folks in this video were all of great age.
Also a special RIP to Enzo, son of Moose who inherited the Eddie spot after Moose retired and was the main younger dog in My Dog Skip. A respectful nod to Robbie Coltrane that we lost in 2022 who played Michael Moon, brother to Daphne. He was the brother that wasn't annoying that I wish had gotten the screen time instead of the Simon character which I can't stand.
Kelsey grammer needs to make episode 1 of the Frasier revival about John Mahoney. It should start with Frasier having coffee in his apartment in San Francisco then his phone reminds him it's the day his dad passed away.
#3 and #5 were not cast members. Guest appearances at best, but barely more than cameos. So, it is criminal that the list did not include Bob Prosky and David Ogden Stiers. And Rene Auberjonois at #4? Ridiculous.
John Mahoney was a great actor and a perfect fit on Frasier but sad though that he like others from Frasier was not born in Seattle. would have made it more cooler having native Washington persons in the key roles.
@@bretmaverick9434 very good question. i would really have to sit down and look into it. but now that we have who they put in the parts, do you really want it to change? kinda like finding out one of the best actors in the show is, in life, gay but plays a real good sleeze ball. would you realy want to chang people? the reason why we like the show is because of the actors/actress in their roles. would not be the same. Like watching the waltons. Southerners but the actors/actresses mostly where not even southern (specially the 1 leading actor who was from New York and i think he was from New York city too and 1 was not even born in the U.S.).
@@bretmaverick9434 the question now is, if they bring back fraier, who will they get as supporting cast. they really need to bring back his brother. I still think Bulldog should have his own show. still can not believe the guy who plays him is inn real life gay. who plays the role so well. you would think they brought some guy in from the 1970s to play bulldog.

My introduction to Rene Auberjonois was M*A*S*H where he played father Mulcahy. The movie must be too insignificant to be mentioned. Why is it Mahoney is always mispronounced. The correct pronunciation is Marney.
Who the hell wrote this stuff? We know they're known from Frasier. It's sad how this voice over artist has literally zero clue on name pronunciation. Beeb Bluff? David Angle? Both Moose and Enzo the dogs have since passed away, yet this video seems to imply there was only one dog. This channel is probably made by a Chinese ad-farming bot and not someone familiar at all with normal American things.

Watching all seasons now on Peacock channel!!! Laughing sooo hard!
Clever, moving, sometimes silly ,always funny sitcom drama, about being human and dysfunctional and surviving- still relevant and still watching.

The best sitcom ever made!
I just finished re-watching the entire series from first episode first season to last.
It breaks my heart to see them all again in the screen. Spacially the dad and Eddie. May they rest in Peace. Thank you for the laughs.
Absolutely the most hilarious show ever. They are supposed to be bringing it back. Fingers crossed.
Rest in Peace to all the Great Actors from Frazier...

Came here for this...I know the title said "actors" but I thought he'd at least get an honorable mention...
I know right? Not a performer, but one of the main reasons we all got to enjoy Frasier. 💕
I think they mentioned Mr angel in a touching credit on the show at the time

Still funny no matter how many times I watch it.
Thanks to this five who contributed to the laughs.
You done good.
Perfect time as we are binge-watching Frasier on Disney+ as I write this!
I can’t believe they didn’t mention Mahoney as the Judge in the Cher thriller “Suspect”, and Rene Auberjonois as the irritating Clayton on Benson.

Moose did pretty well to live till sixteen.

I'm on my second watch of all the seasons of Fraiser. The characters feel fun and it's an easy watch.
RIP John Mahoney and Moose...you both gave us so much joy. RIP to all those who have passed who made this show so great.
PERFECTION ❤
If I’m not mistaken I think John Mahoney also guest starred on Hot In Cleveland as well
He was a guest on Cheers too. That's how he got the Frasier gig - he got along so well with Kelsey that he didn't even need to audition iirc.

Just wondering if you will be presenting segments on actors “who have happily died”?
What about David Ogden Stiers? He was in the episode where his pompous, classy, cultured character had more in common with Frasier and Niles than their boorish but lovable dad, Martin. This has Frasier and Niles wondering if the David Ogden Stiers character was their real father. and not Martin.
Amazing episode. Comfortably in my top 15. Me and a friend still regularly ask each other about the many awful facts about the scary hippopotamus 😆
I LOVE that episode!!
Carole Shelley (1939-2018) as Mrs. Moskowitz, in Merry Christmas Mrs. Moskowitz, she was hysterical. Fantastic show!
The writing and acting was genius. They reminded me of a Brian Rix Farce (a U.K. genre of play).
Mahoney also played role "Foyle's War", in the episode "High Castle."
I remember the character Bonnie in two very funny episode in Season 6 I think. She was Marty's new girlfriend but Frasier was trying to fix up his Dad with Roz's mother who was visiting. So he pretended she was Niles's date instead which didn't go down well with anyone.

I can't believe as it said, on the video clip that Irish business man Peter Casey produced frazier. God help the actors on set.
John was a good looking man. And a good actor.
Those were the days of TV not the crap out today, every channel you turn it's a cop show anymore no good comedies out there
The 1st time I saw,Rene was in a TV movie w Bill Bixby, Shirts/ Skins. Very fine actor, great part in Frasier..
Mahoney also was the white sox manager in 8 men out.
I didn't remember that Moose was around for the entire series.

Kelsey grammer needs to make episode 1 of the Frasier revival about John Mahoney. It should start with Frasier having coffee in his apartment in San Francisco then his phone reminds him it's the day his dad passed away.
Why do they include people who guest started on one or two episodes? Marty and Eddie were the real stars.
Even in death Martin would have Eddie by his side.
What about David Ogden Stiers? He was in one episode.
only two of them were even regulars. Marty and Eddie.
Rene Auberjonois was also a series regular on BENSON as stuffy Clayton Runnymede Endicott III from 1979-1986.
Rene was also a regular on “Benson”.
Sadly Clive Roddy(Daphe's ex fiancée & English mechanic early in the series) also died recently. :(
Rene was on Benson. How could they forget that.
Damn, I wish it would have been Daphne and her on air family instead
John Mahoney was the only actorfrom Frasier to have died. The others, I don't even know.
Eddie Crane… cute the pooch got a last name.
I love Mahoney in The Hudsucker Proxy
Rene was the voice of Janos Audren from Soul Reaver 2 and Soul Reaver Defiance!
What a gruesome topic!
#3 and #5 were not cast members. Guest appearances at best, but barely more than cameos. So, it is criminal that the list did not include Bob Prosky and David Ogden Stiers. And Rene Auberjonois at #4? Ridiculous.
Don't look for John Mahoney's grave. I am convinced it is unmarked. I scoured that cemetery for nearly 4 hours.
Awwww Rene Aberjanois !
Funny Moose son took over the role of Eddie They hated each other and had to be separated 🐶
3:43 Actually, Moose *did not* portray Skip. That was his son, Enzo. Get your celebrity dog facts right.
So they were sad when they died? Who writes your titles?
Kinda clickbait - three cast members, and three "Oh yeah, I remember that episode" guests.
lol two cast members....
You both spelled and mispronounced “René Auberjonois”
They sadly died? As opposed to dying happily and singing show tunes? Okay.
