    I've actually looked into Keith reacting to quintessence since season two. We know that the burn things on Keith's hand isn't a normal reaction because both Shiro and Thace's scars from it were glowing. The important thing about the Druid attack was that the "lightning" sucks quintessence out. This is fairly safe to assume because Keith's hand absorbed the yellow quintessence and turned back to normal.
    Another thing in season 2 related to Keith and quintessence is the Komar being used on Voltron. After being used, voltron was dead and the paladins were unconscious. We were shown them up close, but one was different: Keith. We didn't see his face or any part of his skin. They were obviously trying to hide something. Keith was shown normal after they all woke up, but that could just be because quintessence was slowly returning to them. Voltron is made from quintessence infused ore and Haggar had a hard time containing its quintessence, so she obviously didn't get all of it. The lions were probably trying to save their paladins. Since quintessence is life, they'd die without it.
    Back to Keith.
    I do think that he has a galra mark on his cheek. It looks too purple to be a scar, especially compared to Shiro's scar. But let's say for the moment that it is a scar. It seems way too convenient to me that it's in the same place as Krolia's markings. I doubt that's a coincidence. So I'm positive that it's a galra mark.
    But why is it appearing now? Why didn't he have it before?
    Well here's the thing, we know that Krolia had access to the quintessence on ranveig's ship. We also know that quintessence makes Keith go back to having human skin.
    It seems highly unlikely that Keith would be born looking completely human. Just take a look at the other hybrids, they all have some indicator of being galra. Even ezor has the yellow scellera when she doesn't look much else like a galra. So it's strange that Keith doesn't have a single physical trait resembling a galra.
    But what if he did? What if he had (at least) krolia's markings when he was born, but Krolia wanted him to have a normal life on earth with other humans, so she made a drastic move to make sure she didn't have to raise him in a war? What if she used quintessence to make him look completely human?
    I'm not exactly sure how he could be getting them back, but he would have to have some kind of quintessence removal if they were indeed hidden with the help of quintessence.
    That's all I got, but I'd love some input on what others think!

      The whole 'Krolia leaving Keith on Earth' also begs another question. Why did have to leave in the first place? It most likely had something to do with the Mamora but unless it was something involving life and death, Krolia wouldn't have left. She obviously cared about Keith judging by the way she acted in s5 and no mother would leave their son on a moment's notice.

    • @nixthelapin9869
      @nixthelapin9869 6 лет назад +39

      Wolfeygirl 505 i think that she left to keep Keith safe. Like I said, she probably wanted him to live a normal life, and having an alien mother would take away that normalcy. Plus if other humans found out that Keith is half alien, then I get the feeling that he'd be in danger. There would probably be people who'd want to run tests on him. The garrison did that to Shiro and he was a pure blooded human. They thought he was dangerous because of his alien arm. Imagine what they'd do to an actual alien. Not to mention most humans don't even believe aliens exist. This would be a huge discovery for humanity. All that attention could've put Keith in jeopardy. Because a purple alien would've stuck out, she left to keep him away from that connection

    Adding to the theory of Keith getting a galra mark: In the s2 finale, I'm pretty sure there was a scene when voltron got hit with a bunch of quintessence and broke apart. Then it showed all the characters passed out, and all the shots showed the characters from the front, but only Keith's showed him from behind. Maybe bc the quintessence would cause galra features to show (like you said), so they couldn't show him and had to from behind.

    I don't think we've seen the last of Narti yet. Like you pointed out, she had Haggar's cat with her and that's "off" for any character. We've seen before characters that seemed "unimportant" (Sendak) coming back seemingly out of nowhere (cmon, he was ejected into space. INTO THE FREAKING SPACE. How the hell someone found him???) so it's not a stretch to think Narti will make a comeback as well. Being honest, I don't think /that beast/ was Narti. Maybe it had some part of Narti in it, but I don't think it was Narti herself.
    I'm rather curious to know what they'll be making with the new quintessence... Ok, we know Lotor wants to get into the rift, but Haggar?
    If she were making beasts with it or something that overall interested the empire, she'd let Zarkon know, wouldn't she?
    Also, Fictional Crystals (if you ever read this), what do you think Haggar was planning with operation Kuron?
    I mean, sure, initially he'd be their "greatest weapon" and be a fighter and such, but the whole thing failed when Shiro escaped. When Kuron awoke, he wasn't used as a fighter, rather, they let him into team voltron again.
    What puzzles me is that Zarkon didn't seem to have any knowledge of Haggar's control over Kuron (I'm sure he'd have hurried her to activate him already and bring the black lion to him) and we know what keeping secrets from the emperor means...
    What do you think she wanted to do with Kuron after her plans changed?

    I had an idea that Krolia gave Keith some of her blood - and thus triggered the more galran aspects of his character. Not sure how and why - the quintessence thing also makes sense. Don't think its just a scar, its too similar to Krolia

  • @shaneyzamora2525
    @shaneyzamora2525 6 лет назад +27

    While it could be a scar, its in the same place as Krolia. So I say its most likely her mark. Maybe it shows up because he's a late bloomer or maybe quintessence, I don't know. The chances of it being a scar are slim.

  • @nickwilliamson4109
    @nickwilliamson4109 6 лет назад +40

    Its either a Galra-mark or a scar. If it is a Galra-mark, it could be from Kieth getting injured and Krolia using quintessence to save him.
    I think the creatures is connected to Narti, perhaps they we're both made the same way.
    Personally, I do hope that is Romelle. Allura may has proven herself a very capable fighter; but I doubt she's agile enough to jump up high from a wall like that. Plus, I don't see her using a bow-and-arrow.
    If it turns out to be Allura in a dungeons-and-dragons outfit, I'll be sorely disappointed.
    PS, love the new background.

    I think it's a scar on Keith's face, not a Galra mark. Unless its some sort of mark given for graduating his Blade of Marmora apprenticeship, maybe? Either way, facial marking/scar fits into Keith's edgy image, hehehe.

    • @caitlynkelly8859
      @caitlynkelly8859 6 лет назад +20

      the idea that Keith's Galra mark is a scar is kind of stupid. if you look at how thick it is near his chin, thinning out as it gets higher up his cheek, that's not how scars work. if it WAS a scar, it would of had to cut him from below, slicing up the side of his neck and up onto his face while somehow managing to be SIGNIFICANTLY thicker in the middle than on the edges. it's either photoshop or Galra markings.

    • @Ammeeeeeeer
      @Ammeeeeeeer 6 лет назад +5

      Its a cartoon about purple furry aliens, they can make scars look however the hell they want. It may look "stupid" (as opposed to an "intelligent" scar???) to a 100000 IQ person like you, but it can totally be a scar by the laws of cartoons.

    • @caitlynkelly8859
      @caitlynkelly8859 6 лет назад +11

      no need to get defensive.
      this is a children's show. not only would the slice from whatever weapon made the scar have to go up a good deal of his neck, along the underside of his jaw, and up his face, but it would again have to be done in a way that made the middle quite thick, with the outer edges thinning out to a point. imagine Netflix and DreamWorks SHOWING Keith getting such a scar. that's not child friendly material. if it is a scar, it should of taken out a good chunk of his neck and cut right down to his jaw bone. on all Keith's missions, he's wearing his BOM mask. that mask is metal. for that scar to be put there, it would either have to be outside a mission (training for example) or his mask would of had to been removed and THEN the scar administered. I just don't think it's likely, knowing the show, as well as knowing how far DreamWorks usually goes in their kids shows, that it is a scar. to be honest, I think it's probably photo shopped. it wouldn't be the first time DreamWorks has said something is going to happen and then not do anything. (season 5 was supposed to be focused primarily on Lance and Hunk)
      It could be a scar, but as someone who's watched almost all of DreamWorks Netflix series, as well as various other "children's" shows, as well as the logic of the shape and placement of such a scar, it is simply illogical.

    • @caitlynkelly8859
      @caitlynkelly8859 6 лет назад +1

      i think he took a blast of quintessence to the face, some of the very powerful stuff that made the super weapon, since the other quintessence didn't permanently effect him.

      Ami Hey hey hey hey hey. Everybody there is one thing you forgot. The scar is purple, yeah scars could be purple in this show but lets compare that to shiro's scar. It's obviously not looking like a scar. Also, why would they make the scar look like his mom's galra mark? They wouldn't make it so similiar so people dont get too confused.
      But Also it cAN be a scar. If could be a scar because there would be some intense fight or someone attacked im and it was important in the season.
      Im just a conspiracy theory trash can.

  • @RoseyRose20

    Keith having having a void in his heart from his mom leaving him actually brings up a lot of questions. If Keith was old and close enough with his mom that he could remember her leaving him then how come he didn't remember that she didn't look very human? I know that he might have been really young but purple skin is kind of an indicator that his mom was different. Not to mention, she probably didn't really show herself to humans thinking that they might react well to an alien. Keith's family's shack was isolated in the desert so maybe Keith didn't really interact with many humans, might explain why he's a loner. I'm wondering if the reason Keith didn't remember his mom was an alien is maybe Krolia made him forget somehow. If she did, she most likely did it to protect him. If Keith remembered that he was still close to his mother then maybe she erased Keith's memories of her being alien but let him remember their family memories. I guess this will get cleared up in season 6. I'm counting down the days till I can see more Voltron. 😆

    I think that Keith's mark was triggered from being with his own kind, just being exposed to them for so long. Lotor wasn't really around Haggar that much and had never met any Alteans except Haggar before Allura and Coran. I see it as a whole nature vs. nurture thing, where people's appearances starts to match their surroundings.

    I think we may see Keith's Galra form in season 6. Season 1 hinted at it with the Quintessence, and Quintessence is becoming more vital and important as the seasons go by. Especially with Haggar, Lotor and Allura. We also know that it revealed to Haggar the past memories and her true form. Maybe Keith will get hit by Quintessence again on his whole body, or maybe his mother will tell him about his Galra form and what the exposure of Quintessence could do to him? I don't know but I think the Galra mark must have come from either the BOM (it could be their specific trademark?) or from Keiths Galra form.

    • @RoseyRose20
      @RoseyRose20 6 лет назад +1

      mouna3242 I'm kinda hoping we see a galra form Keith. I've seen so much fan art of what he might look like in galra form that I wonder what he might look in an official galra form. I don't think they'll ACTUALLY show his galra form. more like show the marking on his face, maybe claws, his hand turning purple, little things like that. then, maybe, at the end of the season, there will be a kind of cliffhanger, implying but not outright showing, Keith going into his Galra form (cut away at the last moment, happens off screen, other characters reacting to unseen action ect) because DreamWorks knows how to keep it's viewers engaged.

    Ever since the Shiro clones theories started, I've always said that the Shiro that escaped and returned to earth is the clone who was absorbed into the Black Lion (Evangelion style) and the current Shiro is the real Shiro who was brainwashed and now a sleeper agent all this time.
    ....
    Or there has always been just one Shiro and he did get teleported to the Galra ship where they brainwashed him and Shiro's subconscious is trying to warn the team through the Black Lion.

    • @RoseyRose20
      @RoseyRose20 6 лет назад +1

      MJosephB Actually, I think the current one is a clone and not brainwashed Shiri because of his facial features. If you compare Shiro's eyes and scar from earlier episodes to the Shiro's in episodes after he reappeared you'll see that his scar is a different color and his eyes and eyelashes are different. Not to mention his casual outfit changed after he reappeared and his weapon arm only glows on his hand when it's activated in contrast to the later episodes Shiro who had more of his arm glowing when he fought with it.

    I have the strangest feeling that the energy that mutated the Superweapon isn't exactly Quintessence, but more like a dark, rare, more powerful counterpart to it. An energy whose power caliber easily makes up for how hard it is to find and detect. An "antimatter" Quintessence, if you will.

    The moment I first saw the ''weapon'' I suspected it was Narti, it would make sense in a way, cause she was introduced in a way that made her seem so mysterious, and for her to just get cut out of the show like that without us finding out would be too strange because of it. then there's also the fact that the creature had traits simillar to narti, such as the same shade of blue skin, no eyes and a tail. Its possible, since quintessence can resurrect & bring life, as it has done many tims before.

    I like your theory on the Super-Weapon. It kind of reminds me of a type of Lost-Number/Chronos Scientist relationship of Guyver series. See in the Guyver series if a Zoanoid fails Optimization and survives (key thing there) it is deamed a Lost Number in which they are a one of a kind Zoanoid in which they are experimented on non-stop. But there are 2 Lost numbers in the series which are Zoanoids with DNA and abilites of of various others. Aptom who can absorb Zoanoid DNA and not only copy their forms and abilites but increase them X-Amount of times and fuse the best parts of their abilities together for a battle form. And there is Neo-Zx Tole who was willingly turned into a Lost Number with the abilties of his fallen comrades that were absorbed by Aptom.
    ANYWAY, back to Voltron, I assume that the Galra traits Keith exhibits is sort of a coming of age thing like if he hits a certain age in which the Galra genetics start to kick in, but being a Hybrid means they wont fully manifest because the human and galra DNA conflicting with one another. Also wouldnt be something if this "Super-Weapon" was the real Shiro or had a piece of him?

    I think the creature is an artificially made hybrid.
    Yes Keith's galra mark maybe triggered by quintessence. It would have be so unrealistic and uninteresting of he got his galra mark due to his sudden growth spurt, considering he just met his galra mom. The show would have too much coincidences.

    Hi ! So i discovered your channel a few days ago and i just watched some of your videos .
    I reaaly enjoy them ! Your theories or explanations videos are very interesting and honestly really well done ! I subscribed
    I know that this video was posted literally two months ago but anyways , i totally agree with your thoughts about the super weapon , seems like a " super hybrid weapon " . We didn't heard of it in season 6 but i hope that we'll get to see it in season 7 . Because at the end of s6 they said that they were going home but they currently are in the Solar System of Dalbazar and Altea wich is pretty far away from earth And they don't have the wormholes anymore because the castle is no more . So i think that season 7 will focus on their journey back to earth , and maybe we'll learn more about the weapon and get to see other stuff ? Like the altean colony .
    Now about Keith's galra mark , as we saw he gets it during his fight with Kuron but there's something that part of us noticed : His galra eyes . During his fight his eyes turns yellow and his pupils retracts TWICE , i think that his mark appeared and his eyes became like that because of the quintessence contained in kuron's arm . Maybe we'll get to see more Galra Keith in the future ?
    Well here were my thoughts .
    Once again i really love your videos !

    Maybe Keith and his mother have Altean blood and for years Keith subconsciously hid his marks or Druid magic was used to make him appear human but it would be undone when exposed to quintessance; she had no way of knowing he was going to get involved.

      I like that! :) I mean just imagine Keith being not only galra but also ALTEAN a supposedly extinct culture imagine their reactions also it then makes even more sense why he looks fully human because his mum isn't fully galra so the genes were subconsciously hidden and only revealed itself when he was with his mum

    Why is everyone forgetting that it was Shiro that gave Keith that mark of his cheek in the season 6 episode 5 The Black Paladins. It was during their fight when Shiro had Keith pinned and his Galra blade burned his face right before Keith cut his arm off. But I guess this is because this video was made before season 6 came out but idk.

    I think you're right and that Keith's mark is a facial marking like his mother's, and also that it appeared due to some kind of encounter with quintessence. I still think the Allura lookalike is Romelle, although I wouldn't be surprised if VLD gives her back her GoLion name of Amue. It would be more similar to Altean names we've already heard on VLD than Romelle is. When you look closely at the character in the thumbnail, it seems she has a very faint trace of yellow in her hair, skin and eye color while Allura has faint traces of blue (or more blue in the case of her eyes). You can't really tell until you view the thumbnail side by side with a screen cap of Allura, although I suppose it's possible that the thumbnail is deliberately misleading in that regard.

    If Keith’s markings are real, I think they might be triggered by him finally knowing a lot more of his heritage. He knows about his father, and finally he got to meet his mother. I think that his marks might be triggered by that. It may also be that he accepts being Galra more, and that he doesn’t mind being Galra.

    I have a theory about the super weapon, (I hope it isn't going to happen though) that the REAL Shiro was messed up with the potent quintessence, they could have been trying to make him more powerful, but like it said in the episode, it had unintended consequences, and SERIOUSLY messed him up. (more than they intended) Or they tried to fuse Shiro with some other creature to make him more powerful.

  • @hungrylikealoup
    @hungrylikealoup 6 лет назад

    There is one other creature that IS malevolent, doesn't have eyes, has a tail, and actually also has a weird mouth/zipper-looking teeth: the Baku.
    I don't think the super-weapon IS a Baku, but I know when I first saw it, I immediately noted the similarities to the Baku. I do agree that it could be a sort of hybrid/chimera mutant thing, but I don't think it has anything to do with Narti. The way it's presented makes it seem like the experiments happened over a good period of time, likely longer than the time between Narti's apparent death and being shown the Superweapon. I say "apparent" because I also do agree that we haven't seen the last of Narti. They wouldn't have made her important like that just to kill her off, and it's not like people haven't come back from the dead or apparent dead in this show. I think the Baku might have been something that was possessed or maybe mutated by quintessence exposure due to the Rift creatures or deliberately by Rift creatures themselves, so the Superweapon could be part Baku, who knows? We don't know where Ranveig's territory lies (other than it's "the farthest reaches of the empire") or where the Mer-planet is, so it's possible the two overlap.

  • @izzyrodriguez7558
    @izzyrodriguez7558 6 лет назад

    Imagine if Keith gets covered in quintessence, like lets say there's a large amount somewhere and he comes into contact with it, and it changes him completely, but not forever. It wouldn't take affect right away, but slowly. Sooner or later, Keith would look Galra. Purple skin, darker purple hair, yellow eyes, but he would be able to change that back to what he normally looked like. I think this is a good way to bring Galra Keith (people have been making art about it) into the show. And maybe, jsut my opinion, but Keith would hide himself from the team because he didn't want the Paladins to see what has become of him. It's another look of Keith, and a way for klance to kind of appear into the show, like Lance would try to help cheer Keith up or something. None of this may happen, but only time can tell. Hopefully when Season 7 comes out on Netflix, these questions and theories will be answered.

    I think the mark on Keith's face is a Galra mark, triggered by quintessence. Because at 9:15, the quintessence on his face is on the same side as his scar (7:12). Its possible that the quintessence triggered it, though I'm not completely sure if that's right, as he got it on his face in season 1 or 2 and it appears (maybe) in a later season. (I'm only on the early part of season 2, so I'm not sure if it appears later)

  • @anonymousfellow8879
    @anonymousfellow8879 6 лет назад

    ...not a clone. YES I’m aware that’s the “literal japanese translation”, but “komar” is “mosquito”. It’s a play on words, and I suspect that what we saw was old/continuation of her original experimentations on Shiro when he escaped.
    My best guess as to HOW Shiro ended up back in Haggar’s control was the same way he reclaimed the Black Bayard that episode-he phased through into Zarkon’s cockpit by accident during that last attack before the mech exploded...and probably a call back to how Shiro originally took the fall for Matt-the end result being Shiro being experimented on, repressing an entire year of his memory because of that trauma...and not actually helping Matt all that much in the longrun, as he wasn’t sent to the same place as Sam and had to be rescued by rebels later.
    All the interviews with the producers, writers, and voice actor about that theory result in them getting pretty upset and immediately changing the topic (and often they’ll get pretty snippy as a “last word”...not that I blame them.) BUT, there is stuff out the wazoo for “MindHacking”/telepathic tech (and that tech getting corrupted) since literally the first episode.
    ...and I’ve actually found examples of a random darker-outlined eye design for Shiro since season 1...and every time that happens, it either cuts to Haggar, the Galra show up, or there’s a robeast. Also, 2/3 robeasts had “remote control pillars” ...but Prorok does not. I don’t think it was just the BlackLion accidentally giving them away, although it was a happy coincidence (like the “altean energy” ...when the same ship that abducted the Kerberos Crew stuck around Kerberos and arrived on Earth moments after Shiro laying eyes on the BlueLion)
    And Shiro’s moodswings are actually pretty understandable considering that he has PTSD (oh, and a constant Haggar-migraine...and actually some of that is similar to how people act when having a tumor squashing their brain, just without the seizures), more trauma, and a LOT more stress (yet refuses to actually deal with it by talking to anyone other than Keith...until the end of s5 when he talks to Lance FINALLY, which was a pretty big moment of character development for “any Shiro”.)
    And...as much as Shiro preached about “teamwork” and “patience”, especially in the first two seasons...he’s actually never been that great at it himself when push comes to shove. He’s willing to abandon the Holts/prisoners because of his need to get OUT (although Pidge snaps him out of it); he’s always been prone to brooding in isolation despite “no secrets” being part of the Paladin Code, apparently; he ignores Pidge’s warnings about the Cube (resulting in a problem becoming MUCH worse); he charges ahead of Lance throughout the entire BetaTraz mission (which Lance actually sarcastically comments on); he attempts to pull rank with the BlackLion when panicked; he fights with his teammates over Anything Galra and insists on a half-baked rescue mission; ...and the s2 finale might’ve gone differently if he’d just waited for Slav to finish his tests so that they’d know how long the gravity generator would hold and for Thace to make the deadline before baiting Zarkon

    Hey Fictional Crystals, could you maybe look into doing a video about some of the parallels between Keith and Lotor? I remember when Keith was first piloting Black he was strangely obsessed with Lotor. Then there’s the whole part of them both being half galra, and coming to terms with the other race in them this past season or two. Then you mentioned the face marks from their other-race moms thing in this video, which is another good point. I dunno, it just seems weird to me. Thanks! :)
