One of the best Neuro surgeon in India. Real human ! Excellent talk about grassroot challenges and issues of Healthcare in India ! I have got a chance to work with him for a while.
i am currently in my final year of mbbs . You exposed the whole system. Thank you for this talk . Don't worry , we will finish what you have started, sir.
I'm currently in the USA and my major is Healthcare system engineering. Its all about defragmentation aspects of healthcare in the US. My aim is to study the Healthcare system of USA here people pay lots of money for better healthcare but in returns results are very less. I want to take deep dive into the concepts like lean six sigma methodologies, Telemedicine and EHR vs. EMR. USA healthcare system is best at the same time it is worst system around the world. USA has mixed model (bismarck model, beveridge model, NHI model, out of pocket model) and has quality and equity issue. WHO rating of overall performance like fairness in financing 25% and health inequality 25% and rank is 37th. Here healthcare providers suffering from burnout. There are shortage of skilled physicians and nurses in the USA. Different types of insurance like obama care (ACA), medicare, medicaid, CHIP, tricare....etc. overall, the current condition of healthcare in the USA is very bad and it need correction.
It's a bit rich for the Head of Neurosurgery at a large private hospital to talk about treating patients as "family" and not "clients". Maybe that's what it takes to get residents and other staff to work inhuman hours in pathetic conditions at low wages. Also, for someone talking about asking questions, I found no hard questions nor any real solutions in this talk. Just some America-bashing (which is always a crowd-pleaser), a lot of nostalgia for the "good old days", and some quibbling about terminology. I would have been more interested in knowing what reforms he himself has brought about, or at least tried to bring about, in his 50 years in medicine.

Excellent talk Sir. Bitter truth of our profession nowadays.
This is just brilliant. I don't know why it doesn't have the reach it deserves, but this is a gem!
Because even when you have to offer the best to the World, there are very few takers..
I appreciate your wisdom, sir - will make sure I reflect on it and pass ahead
We appreciate you sir
patient can be a client of an insurance company not to doctor, our system is wrong 🇮🇳
Can we implement something like Australian Medicare in India? It's like people who need the most can get the service.
I do think we have some government insurance schemes these days
Very insightful video

What happened?
Just saw his profile on Max Healthcare website, last point is for his publications, he was right in his speech.
