  • This is professional grade equipment made in the USA. I wanted a bag that could serve as a Bug Out Bag and a Get Home Bag. I wanted it to sustain me for up to two weeks and come in under 25lbs with water. I met this criteria with the Mystery Ranch 3day Assault BVS. This will serve in a woodland and suburban environment.

I feel like everyone in the outdoor/survival/bugout genre got sucked into buying a bunch of super expensive gear that they really didn't need, and for a lot of them, won't use. Lots of good (even great) inexpensive gear out there, that'll work well for a bugout bag. To me, if you add up what you spend on your bugout bag and its contents, and it comes out to more than $500 or $600, you wasted a lot of money.
