- This is professional grade equipment made in the USA. This is the bag that lives in my car. It can be a Get Home Bag, Bug Out Bag or 96hr Emergency Bag. It does not replace my larger Emergency Bag. I use that bag for longer trips and duration. Both are completely standalone. I have a video on it, if you want to check that out. • Bug Out Bag? Get Home ...
I'm shocked all that stuff came out of that size bag, wow! Very comprehensive for get home purposes.
Mine is nowhere near that now even with 24 liters of space. I had a come to Jesus moment after I took my 20# bag out for a 15-miler and had to admit it was too much.
I pulled everything out and questioned its purpose and its alignment with the mission. Some things I thought made sense initially were just stupid to carry, too oversize, and/or super redundant.
Got it down to 13.4 lbs this weekend, but some winter things need to be added. I also want to replace other keeper items with more space saving, lighter versions in time. But, some good progress has been achieved.
Did I miss any plans for small/quick get-you-through foods, meal bars or snacks? Since you included the spork, I am wondering how it applies.
Are you also in a milder season area of the country? More city or suburban?
Thank you for the great comment. My bag and gear is all non bulky and light weight. I live on the Central Coast in CA, so I have one of the most mild climates in the world.
My area is largely suburban, agricultural with woodland areas surrounding me.
On the spoon, it’s titanium and I’ve learned to always carry one. I keep a supplemental food bag in my car. Depending on the situation, I can grab the bag or some food out of it.
It’s great that you are tuning and tweaking your bag from testing. Sounds like you’ve got it dialed in. Keep up the good work. I’d love to see a video on your bag.
Go back 3:14 - 20 he pulls out a small bag with several items, then he pulls out a high calorie nutrition bar. I don't recall anything else after that?
I'm seeing so many great get home bag videos lately, good to see them gaining momentum with the community again. Being prepared is the goal!

Great bag!
I'm guilty of not keeping my bottle filled 100% of the time, but you're absolutely right on the importance of keeping it filled.
Thanks for stopping by. You don't have to swap out the water as often as most say. I change it every 3-6 months. I put a few drops of bleach in it and it's good-to-go until I change it out again.
Great load out, that little back pack is packed with helpful gear
I just upgraded the bag to a Mystery Ranch Raid LT 32. I also added a Pinnacle Mercantile Poncho Liner with 2-way zipper. Thank you for stopping by.
Very impressive. Couple items you could add would be a “fish mouth speader” for handling your canteen over a fire, a small pair or binoculars, a multitool such as a leatherman or swiss army knife, and some potassium iodide tablets for nuclear fallout. You have some redundancies which is good, but if you want to cut some weight, you dont need two emergency blankets, one fire kit is adequate, and you dont need two types of parachord or two mosquito repellants. Add some extra underwear, and fast drying thermals. Again, outstanding pack.
Thank you for stopping by and the suggestions.
Nice kit. I don't see many people rocking the tactical tailor gear. I've got quite a bit of it and it's all amazing. Their 3 day assault bag I have is over 20 years old and has been all over the US and around the world and still going strong
They do make quality gear. I just up graded to the Mystery Ranch RAID LT 32. Has a better yoke /harness for carrying weight for longer distances. Great pack.
@@surviveanything4765 nice. I'm using a vertx gamut for my edc / work / everything bag. I love it
As I said before you are much better at making these bug out bags then I am
Good kit brother. Stay strong.
I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for suggestions on my bug out bag video!! God Bless
Nice set up
Nicely done!
Hey Dan you going to accept the tag? Figured I'd make you think.
@@surviveanything4765 oh Yes!!! Took a couple weeks off for Thanksgiving, but hope to be out doing a video next week, and you gave me the idea! Thank you!
Video of my apocalypse knife is up. Hope you enjoy it!
Great set up Brother, keep it up. I also subscribed!
Nice, would you have gone with AOR 2 camo or even Ukraine mm-14?
I had to look those up. I’ve never been a fan of digital camo patterns. Not saying they aren’t effective. I’ve just always liked multicam.
I really appreciate this video!!
Nice kit. The bag holds a lot but there are several duplicate items and functions and most of the items seem to be just crammed into that main pocket. Perhaps some organizer bags would be useful. Also, there was only one light source so a flashlight would be a great addition. It would be great if you could also post links to the items such as that smaller survival kit you reviewed at the end of the video. A multi-tool could come in handy and/or a good pocket knife. Did I miss the water purification items or were they not included?
Hi Don,
On organization, I stick to the process I’ve used since I was a Boy Scout and in the Military . The stand alone survival kit (SOLKOA Pro) creates some redundancy with main items in the bag. This is not a problem because they are important. I have two headlamps in the bag. A Petzil Tactica and e-Lite.
I have 3 ways to treat water. Boiling, filter and Katadyn MP-1 purification tablets.
@@surviveanything4765 Thanks for clarifying that for me and for the name of that kit. That is a great kit you put together.
Wanted to add, I edc a Microtech SOCCOM Elite and Leatherman Wave. I should do a video on my pocket kit.
@@surviveanything4765 Well that takes care of my comments! Great job!
@@donhames5492 Thanks Don, appreciate the comments and questions.
Nice bag. 🙂
I like your knife! I have my trusty K-bar so that's my go to lol
You prolly should think about how far you are able to walk.
Which is better in your opinion...for a Cook kit stove ? ♨🪔
an Esbit stove or a pocket rocket isopropane stove ?
*Suggestion* : I have taken 50ft Paracord (digital camo) and Weaved it on my Bag Handle (quick release weave/see video link) and through some of the Pals webbing on the outside of my bag and attached water bottle case webbing. (60 ft)

Thank you for sharing your well thought out GHB with us .
Hi, it depends on where you live. Isopro has a hard time in freezing cold. But, if it’s not that cold where you live, I prefer the pocket rocket II. I have that in my larger emergency bag. Check that video out.
Yeppers...gonna check out your Large Emergency MOABOB video (Mother Of All Bug Out Bag)

I bet that was expensive. Some dood kit in there
What back pack is that? It looks like my Dragon egg backpack.
Hello it is the Tactical Tailor/Mil-Spec Monkey - Adapt Pack. Same shape as yours but it's smaller; by a little bit.
@@surviveanything4765 yea mine is the 25 or 26 liter. Thanks for that information!
What's the total weight including water?
Hello, the bag weighs 19.7lbs. My goal was 15lbs
I think you need more food.
If it's a 96 hour emergency bad, why does it need a sharpening stone? Please get real with these bags.
To keep the blade sharp after heavy use.
What do you see as "unreal" ? You alluded to the sharpening stone.
Check your own weight aswell.
I am. I’m down 14lbs so far.
