Wow such a fantastic and stylish ensemble! Love the expression on your face and your stance in the reveal when you said 'If I could live my entire life with that level of confidence'. I'm way too late to the party, but I'm voting for detachable double shoulder capes to use up your leftover wool.
What an incredibly beautiful outfit you have made. You should rightly feel proud of yourself! So inspiring for me to try to use more professional tailoring in my own sewing. I’m always full of ideas but too scared to really apply them. I guess I should just dive in and give it a try. Even if it doesn’t quite work out I will have learned something new. And for the leftover wool, a skirt that goes with your waistcoat might be nice
OMG!!!! The whole thing is absolutely amaaaaazing! You look fabulous in your gentleman Jack Skeleton outfit. I'm so jealous of Hamish right now, he got to see how great you look in person. As for the left over fabric, is there enough for a knee length Edwardian walking skirt? I think a goth Bridgerton dress would look great. I'm looking forward to seeing what wonderful things you make next. BTW, "use the sleep" is so relatable to me.
This was lovely to watch! I'm not brave enough to tackle this sort of thing, yet, but one of my mentors in the past did a lot of menswear, and I *believe* she did the horsehair on the diagonal, so that the two halves form a sort of downward chevron in the middle. I so admire your gumption facing one of these sticking points. I really needed to see this, right now.
"Burn those bridges...", lol. I like that! And wow, did not know those things about horse hair canvas, should have, but I've never used it either. I'm not really fond of very structured clothing and never bothered to learn how to sew them.
Gorgeous! The coat is just so yummy! I've loved following your journey for this outfit. Thanks so much for sharing! My go to votes for less yardage are waist coats and capes/capelets. For really small bits of wool, I've been considering trying boot spats. The are also color blocking options. Like imagine coat or skirt panels in multiple colors or with lace every other panel? I think I'm gonna try flaring out a wool peplum coat with gores of lace over a sturdy cotton or different colored wool. Also sending good vibes for your difficult days. Can sympathize.
If it's not too late to add my two cents - I vote for a waistcoat (back-up suggestion would be a mid-calf 1950's hobble skirt). Thank you for including tips about managing horsehair canvas. Marvelous work. Well done! - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Amazing! Looks really epic. My vote is for the Edwardian walking skirt and waistcoat...however this will of course be the most work. Well done! Nailed it, as always.
Brilliant!! I’m glad you’re very proud of your work 😄 It’s so good to see you really pleased with it all and also seeing your own progress with sewing 👌🏼
If I can make a suggestion for the remainder of the wool, by no means will it take up 2 meters, but newsboy caps are awesome. Alternatively, a little vest. Short walking skirt? Possibilities are literally endless.
Good spoon budgeting! As an EDS sufferer, I have had to learn that there comes a point when pushing on is pointless as you will spend the next sewing session correcting the mistakes from this one 🥴🤷🏼♀️
Very well done! I totally relate to looking at stuff from just a few months earlier and seeing stuff that could have been done better. I’m rapidly building my sewing and fitting skills too, and it’s doable but not easy! I haven’t jumped into tailoring to this degree yet, though that’s on my near-term radar.
I think I would try to take some of the leftover material and make myself a fancy but practical waistcoat for everyday wear. So I could in a small way have a part of this outfit. To use all of the time. 💯✌️🤟🤘
That fabric would make a lovely walking skirt. Great video!
If you have enough fabric a mermaid-ish skirt would be super cute! either that or the Edwardian walking skirt
Oh man. That "point of diminishing returns" hits *hard*, especially when you deal with chronic illness.
You did the heck out of that thing!
Your skull pin cushion makes me wildly happy 🥺💀
oh yes that came out FABULOUS. WOW.

Congrats on your level up . It looks amazing.
Yes!!!! Be proud 👏 you did great. It looks amazing

It looks AMAZING!! This is so inspiring 😍 And personally, I would definitely make a walking skirt with this fabric

Looks amazing! Very distinguished! Goth Bridgerton sounds fantastic!
Wow! You rocked that whole outfit! Love it. Maybe you need a walking skirt to match your tail coat now?
Well done, everything in your Jack Skellington/Gentleman Jack cosplay looks amazing. You should be so proud of the work you put into every piece.
I love the result. This was such a great project to watch
This came out WONDERFULLY!! I've just discovered your channel (from the biker Moraine video) and I look forward to your next projects as well!
I think a full length walking skirt would look amazing with that fabric (if there's enough left over).
I love it so much! And I would love to see goth bridgerton

I think a waistcoat is on the cards for the left overs of this fabric, for sure! 😄
Waistcoat gets my vote.

Wow, that looks fantastic! There's so many skills you have to be able to do this - so awesome!
Thank you so much! A lot of the tailoring bits I hadn't really done before, and I was THRILLED with how well it came out 😊
Amazing! Looks really epic. My vote is for the Edwardian walking skirt and waistcoat...however this will of course be the most work. Well done! Nailed it, as always.
omg I love you pin cushion ! I've got a little, black cauldron (which I'm v. proud of)
I also feel for you about redoing the mock up - it sucks

Great job!!
I vote sexy pencil skirt and waist coat! Also you should be proud it's wonderful!
Ooh, I hadn’t thought of a pencil skirt! Maybe with a nice kick pleat at the back 🤔😁
@@EmilySnee Yes! That would be so good! Ooh maybe a matching waspy waist belt. Like a corset belt
Could you please make a walking skirt to go with it?
If I may ask, what sort of chronic illness do you have that causes this pain and problem with joints?
😊💜👍🏻
