I was in hysterics with the sharpied ribbon, like mother like daughter, eh? So glad I taught you the really important things in life 🤣🤣🤣 And the lipsynch was brilliant - shoud be a short!
Haha did anyone else gasp in high drama when she pulled out *that* pattern (known for its frustrating fit.) Like cue dramatic music. But it looks awesome! I really like the ribbon closure idea!
You are absolutely adorable in the costume…but the arm hole situation seems like a nightmare. I too am a “normal human” so I feel VERY inspired by the ribbon situation (and I LOVE what you did with those socks!)
I love your approach to a sewing problem being along the lines of 'ehh, I'll figure it out'. Dress is lovely. Well done. Nice montage, by-the-by. Right now Stephanie Canada is doing a collaborative thing with the version of the _original_ walkaway pattern. She's traced and digitized the original single sized pattern and made it available. Anyone who wants to can download a *free* copy and take part in a speed trial... how long does it take to make a completed version of the dress (not counting things like FBAs). Just thought I'd put a bug in your ear... _Also_ - check out her pattern comparison between the reprint and original walkaway. I don't think I spoil anything by saying it ends with a match... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Happy Halloween! I think the dress looks great. I made something out of stretch velvet once, I don't remember what it was, I only remember how horrible the fabric was to work with. You did a great job working with thst stuff.
You did an amazing job, especially considering how awful it is to sew things out of stretch velvet! Cutting it gets tiny fuzz everywhere, it stretches when you sew it, the edges curl up on themselves and the static picks up every cat hair in the room... 😫 The remaining stretch velvet in my stash will probably never become a full garment, but it might make for some cute collars and cuffs if I have the patience.
Thank you for making this pattern! I have been looking at it for ages but couldn't find a fabric that I wanted it it. Your genius idea and very clear instructions has shown me i can do what ever i want. You are glorious. Many congrats on a great design. 27:51 is easily the funniest best part of the whole video.
typing while watching: Oh fun idea! ..that is the walkaway dress. oh dear, oh no so many challenges, time for a different pattern? no? ..ok. will stretch help make the walkaway fit issues worse? hmm Cat! Also same with the bored of cutting. velvet 🤯 I have heard that a walking fot may help with the sewing of shifty, annying fabrics like velvet? the proper tailor way of 'adjusting for the shifting of the velvet while pinning' seems like actual black magic to me. Execellent montage, much like pretty sharpie ribbon, will that hold up to washing? I do like the bolero, very pretty! The walk away dress is just a not good dress idea. Kudos for sticking it out though

Yes! Somehow I think this might actually be the least chaotic video of someone trying to use the pattern I've seen
@@thecadaver Right?! I think the bolero works really well with it too.
I'm a novice sewer as well so I feel your pain with the stretch material. A walking foot for your machine makes a world of difference
This is very awesome. Loved it.
Such a great job on the dress! Especially considering the wrong fabric and wrong size!
Uh, love this :D Lovely take on that character and I like your "just going for it" way of working! :D
Your Winnie poses are on point 😀

That montage was absolutely incredible, especially the timing with music. Well done. ^_^
It turned out nicely, despite its desire to wander about on your body without so much as a by your leave.

I love it! Enchanting!
Utterly gorgeous and very entertaining xx
So brilliant. Love how you get into the character of the outfit
I gotta say… I love your skull pin cushion! 💀
Shhhhhh, if they can sell us overpriced adult colouring books, we can colour ribbon in sharpie.
I would love to see Guillermo del Toro inspired costume. Any of his puppets really if you are also fan 🖤
oh I love everything about this video.
Who wants a button in the small of their back anyway?
