Notice how after this comes out, Hamilton's performance mysteriously gets better and suddenly he gets a podium.
It may be truthful.
Even Hamilton was saying that he would never out qualify Russell for the rest of the season.
Then when this news comes out boom Hamilton gets performance boost?

@@simonmaphosa3156 well, we don't know he full lowdown as George did have a water tank failure which affects engine performance, we don't know how long this was going on - Toto says since lap 2 but I'm not certain. One thing is for sure, George didn't fight Lewis as he charged past (but he did seem to in the corners afterwards) - was this because of the issue? We probably won't ever know. So the whole George vs Lewis fight hasn't really been resolved either way yet.
One thing is for sure though; if Lewis' poorer than expected performance this year are due to a 'I've checked out of Mercedes and just waiting for my Ferrari time' mindset, that will have been psychologically dissolved after yesterday's result. I certainly anticipate seeing Lewis fired up emotionally now so we'll see how much of that might have been a component vs George.
Simultaneously, dropping out of the race he'd qualified on pole for, George will be feeling psychologically dejected after yesterdays outcome.
It'll be interesting to see who gains more composure at the next race, and then how each of them return after the summer break...
...I'm expecting some fireworks in the second half of the year between the Mercedes drivers...
Please , you cannot compare Russel against Hamilton! That shows your bias against Lewis and in favour of a disrespectful young jack Russell who lacks the respect due to a 8 time WC! What 8 wdc? He had 7 cheap ones, in easy mode ,in Mercedes motors . And after last Gp in Ferrari are thinking that they pay for the slower pilot in Mercedes to replace Sainz ( who even finish above sir powered by Mercedes).

Because you say that but right from the get-go when Lewis was in his rookie year came within 1 point of x2 WDC Alonso (who was absolutely in his prime at that time) to winning the WDC that year, and would have done if it hadn't have been for Alonso's efforts to scupper Hamilton via, oh wait, also dirty cheating.
Or do you mean 7 cheap ones, as in the ones that Vettel gained and the others in 22' and 23' that Verstappen gained from having the best cars for each of their wins (thanks to cost cap cheating and owning the best aero-designer Adrian Newey with Red Bull, during the rules regs which prioritised aero-performance, of course) by your logic then all of these ones were cheap ones too then weren't they?
Oh but if you want to pull the 'second driver' card - then Rosberg didn't play second fiddle - he only won his WDC because Lewis and him and their engineering teams swapped over, (surprise surprise!) AND Lewis has worse luck than him with more DNFs due to issues; and yes Bottas was absolutely a second driver, but then again so was Webber with Vettel ("not bad for a number two driver"), and Sergio with Max: for whom Max would not have placed where he did had Checo not defended so strongly against Lewis.

You have to wonder how many of the other drivers on the grid would have gone if they had been driving the Mercedes which was so much better than any other car.
the cost caps seem to have evened that playing field a bit but the regulations seem to conspire against racing e.g the masssive additional advantage that red bull get from their drs etc

OK. I can now see why Ferrari had .no obligations in booking Hamilton for 2025. They saw that Mercedes was sidelineing Hamilton for Russell in all they set ups. Why Toto refused the engineers assistant from Ferrari and others. Because they didn't want Hamilton to beat Russell at anytime.
So the cold tyres,all the faults trials, and the reduce engin power on Hamilton car speakers volumes to their sabotaging Hamilton. If these issues were not brought to light, Hamilton would not have gotten a podium in Spanish gp.

It's seems very likely that LW is being throttled back to allow Russell to emerge as lead driver. You don't just forget how to drive, especially with 7 driver's championships under your belt. Also, he continues to show his prowess on occasion, which suggests he still has it in him. Mercedes are fowl for doing this.

This is the most wildest twisting of situations I have heard in F1. Mercedes gifted Hamilton the 3dr place in Spain by putting Russel on the completely wrong compound. Lewis got the right strategy, George the wrong one. Can we PLEASE stop looking for reasons to put Lewis in a victim role?
